Everything went well and it was great. They were easy to work with, nice and responsive.

I called McKinney Bros to come and give me an estimate to prune a large ornamental tree in front of my home. They said they would be out in the next few days which they were. Although I wasn't there, he left an estimate which also included another tree which required pruning that posed a risk. The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I had obtained, so I called to confirm a day. Two days prior to the scheduled time, Kirk called to confirm it. Promptly on that day, Kirk, his crew and equipment arrived. We reviewed what was to be done and they went to work and completed the job quickly and efficiently. They also cleaned up any debris that was left. Kirk and his team were professional, prompt, courteous, efficient, and did a great job. They are my # 1 choice in tree service. I will not hesitate to use them again when I need to.

The McKinney crew arrived on time, at about two o'clock in the afternoon and were done in 50 minutes! That is, the trucks were leaving the front of my house in 50 minutes. I don't know how you can do that much work including moving the bucket truck to the back of my house to prune the maple limbs in just 50 minutes. They cleaned up the area, wonderfully and left us some pieces of the elm trunk sawn to firewood length for my neighbor to split later. I was amazed at the performance of the crew and I would hire these guys again in a minute. I give McKinney, an unqualified and enthusiastic recommendation.

From our first conversation, Kirk was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Far and away the most professional of all those I'd consulted. The office was also professional and pleasant about staying in touch and following up about exactly what i wanted done. Once, when he was going to be about three-fourths of an hour later than we'd arranged, he called to let me know and to make sure the delay was okay with me. The sizable crew worked quickly and steadily, and with noticeable co-operation. After they were done, Kirk walked me around the job and made sure I was satisfied, as well as answered my questions about future steps. The price wasn't the lowest, but it was close and was well worth it, given the quality of the dealings and the work. I'd definitely use McKinney again.

These guys charged about 1/3 the price quoted by our former tree service for similar work. They started and completed the work in the time promised, did an outstanding job, and cleaned up afterwards. They have good equipment and expertise.

Kirk McKinney came to provide me an estimate for the removal and trimming of several trees. The main trees that we wanted removed he told us require a special crane so Kirk was upfront that he did not have the ability to quote those trees at any reasonable cost because of the specialty involved. However, he spent considerable time with me answering my questions, and he then provided me the names of three companies who have large cranes to do the work we needed even though they were his competitors. I appreciated his honesty and his willingness to provide the names of other companies he would recommend. I will keep McKinney Bros in mind for future tree work.

McKinney Brothers arrived on the day they promised with a boom truck for reaching the high branches, a dump truck towing a huge chipper, and a cargo truck to haul away whole pieces of the trunk. Kirk immediately climbed into the boom bucket and got to work. He cut away the lowest branches and worked his way up, tying each branch to a rope wrapped over a higher branch and held by his assistants below. Each cut branch was lowered carefully to the ground and then fed into the chipper while Kirk went on to the next higher branch. Finally, when only the top 25 feet or so remained with branches, he carefully cut off this top and dropped it onto the road in front of our house, while assistants helped control it from below with a rope. Then the cargo truck pulled up with its huge hydraulic claw. Kirk moved down the bare trunk, cutting off pieces about ten or twelve feet in length while the claw grasped the top. As each piece of trunk was cut through, it was lifted by the claw and placed in the bed of the cargo truck. The men cleaned up all the twigs, leaves, and chips with rakes and a blower, leaving our front yard and the street the way they found it. Finally, Kirk drove a big stump grinder into the yard and used it to grind down the stump and nearby lateral roots. This process left a large pile of mixed wood chips and dirt where the tree had been. When the landscaper later removed this pile, he discovered that a portion of the stump was still there, hidden under the chips. Kirk and his crew returned and ground down the remainder of the stump, at no additional cost. McKinney Brothers were very good to work with, and they also coordinated well with our landscaper. They were quick, very skilled and professional, and did an excellent job. We strongly recommend this company to anyone in need of tree removal.

Very responsive, very professional, did exactly what was agreed to at a good price. I sent an email describing the work. I received a response in 1 day. Kirk came out within a few days and provided an estimate and the work was scheduled about a week and a half later. I was not at home when the work was done, but a bill was left in my mail box. The tree was removed, branches trimmed and clean up was complete. I would not have known any work was done (except for the tree being gone and the branches trimmed) as everything else in the yard was undisturbed. It was a really fast, complete job. I am very pleased. I would definitely have them do future work.

Not only did they quickly and efficiently cut the offending limb, but for the same quote tidied up surrounding limbs and hauled away all their mess, leaving the garden in better shape than when they arrived.

They were very professional. owner came out himself to give me an estimate. Within 10 days i received a call from the secretary for scheduling services. They were on time. I really appreciated that the owner did the work along with his employees.

I called several companies and choice McKinney Bros based on reviews. They were professional and quick to respond. They came out on a Saturday morning took a look at the job , gave some good suggestions and a reasonable quote. I scheduled the job a few days later, with a 2 week window. I received a call the Sunday before, to confirm a date and time. My job was scheduled within the 2 week window on a Thursday at 745 am. They were on time, quick, professional, and cleaned up all debris. I Found out after, they had also done some tree work for a neighbor of mine. I would definitely call and use them again in the future. Happy Customer.

They came out on short notice to prune limbs from cable wires before we could start work on garage. Clean cuts, nicely done. Came out a second time to top and prune very tall hemlocks in a back hedge. While here, also pruned a few arborvitae limbs from another hedge hanging over driveway. Very courteous, professional. Returned calls promptly and worked with us very well with scheduling. Cleaned up area meticulously.

Every part of my experience with these guys was top notch. They returned calls promptly, came out to give an estimate promptly, told me when they would be available to do the job, showed up when they said they would, and did a great job at a great price. If every contractor operated like McKinney Bros. we wouldn't even need Angieslist.

McKinney Brothers promptly returned our call when we first called. They showed up on time to survey the trees and wrote up a reasonable estimate. A few days before our appointment, they called to confirm. My schedule is a little difficult and they were able to work around it. They were here when they said they'd be and came with a full crew. The whole job took about an hour, including clean up. Mr. McKinney went out of his way to be diplomatic with a neighbor who felt he had the right to order him from cutting branches that were leaning on utility wires because he liked looking up and seeing the greenery. We couldn't have hired a better company to take care of our trees. We will use them in the future. Thank you, McKinney Brothers.

This is the second time I've called Kirk McKinney to assess the trees behind my house. I found the company on Angie's List, and I was very impressed, two years ago, with the overall professionalism, both Kirk's and his team. Especially helpful is advice and information about maintaining a grove of aging trees so as to minimize the risk of damage in a storm.

Responsive, professional and knowledgable. They couldn't get to the backyard with trucks so there was extensive hand work and they did it all in a day and clean up was impeccable. Would use them again and again.

Solicited bids from 3 tree maintenance firms. McKinney Brothers was the least expensive by 40%. Given their references and the description of the services to be provided, I couldn't envision any additional value the others would provide that McKinney would not. Once I informed McKinney that I would like them to perform the services, the job was scheduled within a week. On the day of the job I decided there was additional work that they could do while they were there. I emailed their office and Kirk McKinney gave me a price over the phone and I had them do the additional work. All of the work was done while my wife and I were at work. We came home and the work was done to our satisfaction and the work areas were cleaned. They left us the bill in the mailbox, simple as that. I would definitely hire them again.

I happened to notice in my backyard there was a very very large, v-shaped branch from an oak tree, that had split from its trunk, and the v-branches were leaning on two different trees! How amazing that it fell like that! I was very nervous, thought the branch or one of the trees it was leaning on with fall on my porch, so I called McKinney bros, who I have used in the past. I was told they were very busy (No surprise there, they are great), and that I would get a call back the next day with a date/time for an estimate. I stressed my concern with the branch potentially falling on my house; Kirk came over within two days to give me an estimate; they were able to squeeze me in by the end of the week. As usual; they showed up on time, and did a fast, neat, and through job. I've used them before; just want everyone to know that I again had a really good experience. Only difference is that Kirk is now, I believe, mostly doing estimates; and does not go to all jobs, that being said, his crew did a fine job without him.

He was good at managing our expectations and told us his team would likely not come for another two weeks--they came in under a week. Kim, the receptionist, was particularly professional in the transaction and had a lot of sway in our decision to go with McKinney brothers...

On short notice, (less than 2 weeks), the crew of four pruned away branches overhanging my garage so that mason work could start today. They returned telephone calls, came out on a Saturday to assess the work and finished the work on Monday. It was beautifully done and cleaned up after the job. They are a pleasure, and I'm looking forward to part 2 which will be to top my hemlocks.

Very quick to respond. Came to give estimate and do the actual service a week before another company's scheduled estimate visit. Kirk explained everything in detail and the job was done perfectly. Trimmed back branches of a large sugar maple which was somewhat overgrown and had never really been pruned. The canopy blocked a lot of sunlight and the tree just looked unkept. Kirks crew came in, opened up the canopy, and took off a great deal of branches and limbs. Brought in a large crew to handle my job and was in and out in an hour. A well oiled machine. Tree looks gorgeous now and allows perfect amount of sun to reach the grass.

I cannot say enough about how excellent the experience was of hiring McKinney Brothers. Kurt called me within 45 minutes of getting my initial email and was at my house about an hour later to give me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable and he said he'd call in the next few days to confirm a date. He called me back at the beginning of the following week to say they could come Wednesday. He and his crew showed up exactly when they said they would and went right to work. When I arrived home from work, the tree was gone, the other trimmed and they had done an excellent job of cleaning up. The service was all around outstanding!
