Description of Work: We had many trees and bushes that were overgrown and blocking light and sun onto our lot. Mr. Mckinney understood the problem just by seeing the lot and the configuration. On the day the crew arrived they were well oranized and seemed to operate in an efficient and organized manner. They completed the work in under two hours and hauled away all the cuttings etc. They even gave us suggestions as to care and maintenance of one of our hemlock trees.

Description of Work: Took very large diseased Hemlock down. Efficient, clean up super, and |took time to answer questions.

They returned phone calls, showed up on time and performed the services they said they would at a great price. We had another company quote the same job and Mckinney offered us a much better price. They were easy to work with and I highly recommend them.

I appreciated the fact that they were honest and referred a different provider that was better equipped since they didn't have the equipment. He said that he only refers to someone else in 1 out of 500 estimates and this was one....

Description of Work: The team removed several large dead limbs from willow trees surrounding my house as well as trimmed back several Norway Maples. The representation from the company (I'm sorry I forget the name - I believe it was Kirk) during the estimate process was very informative and receptive to my comments / concerns. He took the time to explain my options and educate on me on what was necessary and what could wait / was not necessary. His team came in and had several people up in the trees and completed the job within 1 hour without bringing a lot of heavy equipment on to my lawn (which was very different than some other services that wanted to drag bucket trucks across my property potentially damaging the lawn). Overall - very happy with the service - I will most certainly call them again.

Description of Work: McKinney Brothers Tree Service is all about SERVICE. All it took was one phone call to get a response the next day. Their response was almost immediate and we were able to schedule for a few days out. Kirk McKinney was dead-on punctual Mr McKinney arrived exactly on time after having called me when he was 10 minutes away as I had requested he do. He was extremely knowledgeable as well as an excellent communicator. His pricing was extremely competitive. We gave him the job of trimming two huge trees and two days later the task was done to our complete satisfaction. The trees have never been so handsome, nor so safe. My recommendation is of the highest degree for McKinney Brothers Tree Service. In today's world of contractors they are a GEM.

Description of Work: I called to ask about two stump removals for old bushes. I had cut down the bushes myself, but the stumps were large and deeply rooted. Mr.McKinney happened to be in my neighborhood so he came by shortly after my call. He gave me the estimate and explained what they would do to remove the stump. Then he said he would call on Sunday to set up the appointment. He called and said he'd be by the next Wed about 2pm, and he was there at about 3 pm. The workers were quick and neat. One little complaint might be that I didn't realize that the chopper would be almost like a little "tank" and it did dig up the lawn a bit; however, Mr McKinney said the grass would come back and it appears to be fine. I especially liked that the person who gave the estimate actually completed the work; too often, the salesman promises one thing, but the workers who arrive don't know what the salesman has promised. I plan to use this company again in the spring.

Description of Work: Kris McKinney made an appt to look at what needed to be done & gave me a quote on cutting three bushes & three trees. It turned out he was going to be in the area the next day so he scheudled the work for me on the same day. Kris was pleasant, professional & kowledgeable. I was not home when they arrived to do the work but, I was very pleased w/the finished work. They had to cut about 50% of the Rose of Sharon bush & I was concerned it would look terrible but it looked great! The Lilac bush also needed extensive pruning & I was pleased w/the outcome and the Burning Bush looks great to. The three trees(one Sugar Maple & two Norway Maples) were a little to high for me to inspect but the limb that Kris felt needed to be removed from one of the Norway Maples was done & one limb was taken from the Surgar Maple & they also looked good. I would certainly call McKinney Brothers again.

Description of Work: I had originally hired the McKinney brothers to prune trees on our property (based on an Angies List rating) but hurricane Irene hit just before they were due to come and do the work. Understandably, they were unable to come when scheduled due to emergency work dealing with downed trees. They were very communicative about the limitations posed by the hurricane and were able to reschedule me within a week. When they arrived Kirk reviewed the entire pruning plan to make sure we both understood what was to be done. In addition, his crew removed a downed tree in my yard which was not part of the original proposal and we agreed on an increased cost. I found them to be expert and professional. The work was done quickly and efficiently and I know who I will call in the future for tree work.

Description of Work: Pruning of 7 oak trees. They were a true pleasure to work with, from estimating and scheduling through to completion of the work. I would not consider anyone else next time we need tree work.

Description of Work: They cut a large tree that was in between our house and our neighbors. Very professional, safe, efficient. They did the work when they said they would. They also cut back several pine trees in the backyard.

Description of Work: The company was wonderful to deal with. Gave an estimate for a big old dead maple on the corner of property. Estimated the job on Tuesday and did the job on Friday. Excellent job. The stump was ground down and the chips integrated into the landscape. Wouldn't even know there had been a tree on the spot.
