The side lot is very large but the crew numbered around 9 and they moved through quickly and efficiently. With a crew that large, with the equipment running in many directions at once, one could easily be overwhelmed or concerned with accuracy. Kirk McKinney personally managed the work site making sure he and the crew knew each individual tree that we wanted to keep or remove. Property owners don't have to be there on the day of service, but they encourage it and we found Kirk's openness made the process work smoothly. They arrived early and worked well as a team. Another important factor is their background as arborists. Kirk gave advice on the health of certain trees, recommending which ones we should reconsider keeping or removing on the day the work was performed. If we could afford more tree work at this time we would definitely have had them complete some work that is on hold. They were so easy to work with and so efficient that it was a pleasure to use their service.

First off, I was very pleased to see that their phones are answered by an actual human being. Nothing annoys me more than answering machines, so I was very happy to speak with the receptionist that answered my call for a free estimate. I was told I would receive a call shortly and was happy to get a call later that day from Kirk McKinney asking if it was too late or not for him to come and see the tree. I agreed and was given a very fair estimate. Kirk scheduled my work for the next Thursday morning and he and his crew of men were here and worked very efficiently and fast. His crew removed all of the branches, removed some old branches I had tied up previously and had even taken away an older tree stump that I honestly didn't know what I would do with. They raked the yard and used a leaf blower to clean away any remaining waste. Kirk asked if I was happy with the job and I was very satisfied. I had been sad to see the old tree go but they did a great job!

Kirk and crew arrived when they said they would and began to work on numerous trees removing dead branches and limbs that had been damaged in winter storms. As always (we've used them for years) -- they were friendly, thorough and do top-quality work. They clean up the mess and will even cut to firewood size for splitting it yourself.

Kirk was quick to respond to my initial phone call and came for an estimate a few days later. After receiving two other estimates, we went with McKinney based on price and favorable reviews on the list. We were called the Sunday before the work was scheduled (as promised) to let us know exactly when Kirk and his crew would be there. On the scheduled day, they showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done. Not only did the crew remove all the tree branches and debris, they even cleared the shavings and chips scattered about my lawn. We couldn't be happier with the job from start to finish and highly recommend them.

Kirk McKinney was very polite and professional from start to finish. He arrived within 15 minutes of when he said that he would and got the job done very quickly. He and his crew cleaned up well afterwards. While he was here, I asked him to give me an estimate on another small job I needed done and he spent time with me discussing the details and answering all my questions in a thorough and friendly manner.

We got the quote last summer, and instead of scheduling service then we waited until winter; they will offer a discount if they can wait to do non-immediate jobs in the off-season (this is scheduled at their discretion, but giving a week or so's notice as to when exactly they're planning on coming by). The day they came they first reviewed the work to be done. We changed the original estimate slightly to take down an extra tree for an additional $300, for which they used our neighbor's driveway to get their crane in to our backyard. They cut up all the wood (after asking if we would like the firewood, which we didn't), chipped it up and hauled it off, doing a good job cleaning up. They took down a small aralea tree at the last minute at no extra cost.

As owners of a contracting company, we are always looking for reliable subs. We were contracted to build an addition to a home and needed some trees removed prior to beginning work. We met with several tree companies and received a range of estimates from $1800.00 to $4000.00. We decided to go with McKinney due to their prompt estimate (I think they went out the same day I called), price and reputation. When I called to schedule the job, they said it could be up to 2 weeks before they could get out there. I explained that we were doing an addition to the home and could not continue work until the trees were down and we could not wait 2 weeks. They said they would call me back if they could do it sooner. They called back the same day saying they could remove the trees the next day!!!!!! They understood how important the job was and didn't want to hold us up. The job itself went fast and smooth. They were done with the job in about 4 hrs. and did a nice job cleaning up the site.

McKinney Bros. responded to my call for help within 30 minutes. Kirk was at my house within a couple hours of my first call to evaluate the damage and to give me an estimate. All work was completed within 2 days after the storm where the damage occurred.

Kirk came round to give a quote. He gave us an indication of a two to three week delay in doing the work. A week later we received a call to let us know his team would be there the next day. In the morning we left for work to return that evening with all the work completed, all the mess tidied up and it was as if the tree had never been there. It was a little sad as we were interested in seeing them do the job, but as they were so efficient they were long gone before we arrived home.

Excellent. Kirk estimated the job on a Wednesday and squeezed the work in the next Friday in order to avoid a conflict with other work I was having done. They showed up exactly when they said they would, practically to the minute. Kirk's crew was diligent, professional and completed the work in an hour. Everything was cleaned up nicely. The price was extremely fair. Kirk estimated the work I was most concerned about, which is what I asked to be estimated. He suggested another piece of work, which I knew needed to be done but planned to do another time. Kirk did not suggest any unnecessary work, and because the price was so fair I had it all done. I highly recommend Kirk's crew.

The people were very professional, punctual, efficient and pleasant to deal with. They performed the job rapidly and did not damage any landscaping.

Kirk McKinney gave me an estimate and when I hired his company he told me when I should expect a call from them to schedule the job. He called right on the day that he told me he would, and he scheduled the job. He and his work crew arrived on time and began to work immediately. They worked non-stop and completed the job in a few hours. Throughout the job, they took great care to prevent any damage to my house and property. The entire crew acted very professionally, I was very impressed with how quickly and skillfully they did the work. When it was completed I was very pleased with their work.

Everything was done well and professionally. Kirk got us a written estimate within a week or two of our request. We didn't have the work done for a number of months, but they still honored the original estimate. Kirk called on the weekend to confirm the date. When our first date rained out, he rescheduled for the following week. He showed up first thing in the morning with a crew of seven men. They thoroughly trimmed out trees and cleaned up completely afterwards. They needed access to one neighbor's property and were very respectful about gaining access. We are very pleased.

McKinney Brothers were extremely responsive. I received an estimate for the tree the day I called. We decided to include trimming of our shrubs in addition to the tree and an appointment was set up to discuss the extra work. We spent a lot of time going over what we wanted, and then we decided to hire them. We received a call prior to the actual work being performed. The crew came and removed the tree, ground the stump into mulch and trimmed all of the bushes. Our shrubs have not looked this good in years. We intend to hire them again in the spring to remove some hedges. We found McKinney Brothers to be a very professional company with which to do business.

It was a pleasure to deal with Kirk, the owner. I admire his work ethic. He looked at the job and mailed an estimate promptly. He and his crew arrived on time. While Kirk does the actual cutting of the trees, each adept crew member has his assigned job: removing tree parts, feeding the chipper, cleaning up. The work was completed quickly & efficiently. We even received a formal "thank you". Impressive! I would highly recommend this company. They work as a team, professionally & competently to successfully complete the job.

Access to the tree was difficult so they clearly explained that they would have to climb the tree and cut it down branch by branch for an extra $100. The team arrived exactly on time, called when they said they would to schedule and were wonderful about cleaning up after themselves - even as branches were sometimes dropped into the neighbors year, they quickly removed anything and raked up after themselves.

They did a really good job on this big project. I have absolutely no complaints about them, only good things to say. Their price was about half of what we had expected to pay and the quality of their work was wonderful. I highly recommend this company.

Kirk got back to us immediately and was very flexible as to when he could give us an estimate. He left us an estimate in our mailbox (the same day he came out) and scheduled the work within a week of the estimate. The whole process was very easy and timely.

They cleaned up and worked very hard. I was very pleased with them. There were no problems and I would recommend them to other people any time. They were reasonably priced and professional as well. I think they are a great company to work with.

Mr. McKinney was prompt in returning our call and providing an estimate for tree work. The actual work was performed two weeks later. We were impressed by the non-invasiveness of the tree trimming. The trees appear healthier and unharmed.

Other companies we called never called back. Kirk McKinney called when he was on vacation and came and did the estimate when he said he would. They included a few more trees in the same price as it was appropriate they needed to come out.

From start to finish the work was superior. The response at first to getting the estimate was done in a very professional way and quickly. They called (as I had asked them to do) three days before they were to come. On the day they came they gave me sufficient notice so I could prepare for them. When they arrived (there were six or seven workers), Kirk took the crew around the house and gave assignments. He then proceeded to take down the large Maple using their "bucket" truck. Two men operated the chipper. Three others did the trimming of the trees. They did a thorough job of cleaning up. If they had any question about whether or not to remove a branch they asked me. The crew was polite and courteous and worked hard and fast. In less than two hours the project was completed. Two of my neighbors saw what they were doing and asked for their card. I would recommend them without hesitation. On leaving Kirk told me to call if I had any questions.

Kirk McKinney provided an estimate the day following my call, after discussing the work I wanted done. All my calls to the company were returned promptly and my questions answered fully. The service was scheduled exactly when promised, and the crew arrived within the range of time predicted. It was obvious that members of the crew were used to working together; each knew exactly what to do in handling a complex and risky task. I was very impressed with the professional way they looked out for each other's safety, whether working high in the air (on cherry picker or suspended from a neighboring tree) with dangerous equipment (chain saws and other cutters) or on the ground with the ropes helping guide huge pieces of the tree to open areas where they could be cut up for removal. I was also pleased with the care taken with my property (house, furniture, plants, and other items on the deck and in the garden) and how neatly final clean-up was accomplished. They did a great job.

Emailed company and received a prompt reply. Kirk McKinney showed up for initial appointment on time and submitted quote for work right on the spot. Was placed on two week waiting list for work to commence. Was notified on date work was to take place within the two week stated time frame. No initial deposit was required. On morning work was to take place, Kirk showed up right on time with his crew. The work progressed very smoothly. Kirk willingly met my special requests while work was proceeding. His crew was very efficient and courteous. The work was completed on time that same day. Kirk McKinney is very knowledgeable and professional. The overall experience was very positive. Price did not vary from quote. I paid McKinney Tree Service in full as soon as the work was completed although other payment terms were available. I would definitely hire Kirk again in the future. There were no glitches.

Overall it went very well. They did everything that was asked of them and a little bit more within the estimate and the time frame that was quoted to us.
