I have used Kirk McKinney several times always with excellent results. He and his crew are as professional as they come. It is amazing to watch them maneuver through the trees, some of which are very tall and in partially inaccessible areas. Since he has been pruning our trees, limb breakage has gone from persistent, damaging and dangerous to almost non-existent. This past storm, with wet, heavy snow, brought down no branches. Kirk also recommends only what is needed and never tries to sell more than is required. No debris or evidence of their trimming activity is left behind.

Kirk and his team have worked on the trees in my yard several times over the years. They do an outstanding and professional job.

McKinney Brothers were responsive and Kirk came and checked out my yard. He made some additional recommendations and they made an appointment to complete the work shortly after. He was super helpful, they did a great job, and the price seemed very reasonable.

We had a great experience with McKinney Brothers Tree Service and I would enthusiastically recommend Kirk McKinney (the owner) and his team. Kirk came out and provided a quote for the work that was about two thirds the price that we were given by other well-rated businesses on Angie's List. His practice is to tentatively schedule the work for a specific week and day, and then call the Sunday before to finalize the time (presumably based on weather and to coordinate with other jobs). We set a day and time and he and his crew arrived within a minute of the agreed upon time. They quickly got to work and had our large hemlock removed and stump ground within an hour and half (no small feat since the trunk was about 5 feet from our house with limbs hanging over our slate roof and our neighbors' fence and there were power lines crossing through the dense branches). Kirk was in the bucket of the bucket truck doing all of the highly skilled work while also coordinating the crew on the ground. I found it reassuring that the owner himself was doing this work, as opposed to a less experienced member of the crew. Nonetheless, once the tree was down, he was working right by his team's side doing the other necessary work of raking up the mess, throwing debris in the chipper, etc. While Kirk was working on the most difficult part of the job another two members of his crew had scaled the pine and oak behind our house that was inaccessible by truck and were doing the necessary work there. When they were done, they left the site cleaner than they found it. They completed the job in about two and a half hours. Perhaps the most memorable moment was when Kirk navigated his bucket over to remove a single stray oak leaf that remained dangling from the now exposed power lines...I knew right then that he is someone who takes tremendous pride in his work. Overall we had a wonderful experience with McKinney Brothers Tree Service, from the low price to the high quality of the work to the pleasure of interacting with the courteous team to the efficiency with which they completed the job to the simple enjoyment of watching a highly skilled individual demonstrate mastery of his craft. Can't recommend them enough.

Very professional. Owned and operated by a man name Kirk. He is friendly, straight forward. His wife handles the phones and scheduling. They are very safe while cutting around electrical lines. He knows tress from a naturalist point of view. He's very honest and knowledgeable.

He suggested we try to preserve the tree. The experience was fine. They did a great job and followed my wishes.

They were respectful of our neighbors, the trees themselves, & utterly professional in their work. Perfect clean up. I have lots of flower & plant beds - nothing was hurt. The trees now look healthier - the pruning was done thoughtfully so the canopy is lighter and airier, but doesn't look like it was buzzed at the property line. We're getting the light we wanted but still have a sense of lushness. The time between contact & the work getting done was about 1 week. We're more than satisfied and recommend them without reservation. Their bid was also much less than we were quoted by a national company (and I'm sure McKinney's work was better than they would have done).

They were a great pleasure to work with. They scheduled an initial meeting and provided a cost estimate, then scheduled the service and came on time and efficiently removed my problem tree and the branches of the neighbors' trees that had grown into my property. I will call them again if I can use their services in the future.

We've hired McKinney Brothers twice now to remove trees and trim overhanging branches. We are very happy with the service. Our city property doesn't allow heavy equipment in the back, so all work is done by hand. McKinney Brothers did a great job. No damage, just a divot in the lawn from a heavy branch. Price was reasonable. Kirk and Kimberly are very responsive on the phone. We would definitely hire them again.

Amazing. Kirk and the guys were in and out in about 45 minutes. When they got here, we had a large, dead, ugly tree along the perimeter of our back yard, now we don't. Kirk walked me through the whole process and oversaw the operation from start to finish. The work was excellent, the timeline was very convenient, and the price good. I will definitely be using them again.

The crew arrived an hour later than the scheduled time. I called the office to make sure I was on the schedule and they checked the situation out and got right back to me. The area had just had a big storm so the crew had a lot more work to do that day, so it put them behind. We were very satisfied with the work done and wouldn't hesitate to call them again to work on our trees.

Responded to my inquiry timely and showed up exactly when scheduled for the estimate. Three days later, they came and did the job. Other than the trees being gone, there was no evidence they had been there. Despite the fact that I had several gardens in the way, they did not damage any of the plantings. I would definitely use them again if the need arose.

McKinney Brothers responded to my inquiry immediately and told me someone would be in touch later that day for more information. Kirk called me later that afternoon and told me he could swing by at the end of the day. He came out and took a look and assured me the tree was safe and probably in better shape than it was before. He had no interest in making his competition look bad for cutting the wrong tree and was completely candid about the fact that the work done had been done well. McKinney was extremely professional and I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future for any tree service needs. They were extremely professional from the first call. I have already recommended them to a neighbor.

Kirk and Kimberly were responsive to my request, replying to my inquiries, whether by phone or email, with a personal call. Quote was fair (I obtained others that were 15-20% higher). They called on the weekend to confirm a specific time for the following week and arrived at that time to perform the work. I wasn't present when the work was completed; they followed up with a call when complete When I arrived home I was delighted to see my driveway and back yard cleaner than they had been in a while, with all dbris (sawdust, branches, leaves) cleared and removed. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if I needed work like this. They do go through busy seasons and it may require a wait before the work can be completed (they were up front about this). They were so busy this fall that their voicemail indicated they were only providing estimates to return customers.

Great from start to finish. They were courteous and prompt. They clearly explained what they planned to do. Worked efficiently and safely and cleaned up afterwards. Couldn't ask for a better job.

To start, Kirk was one of the only companies that returned my call. He called within a day of me emailing him and came by the next day to give us a quote. He was very knowledgeable and guided us through the process as we have been homeowners for 2 months and unsure of what was going to happen! We got another quote that was significantly higher, and we just liked Kirk better so we decided to have them do the job for us. Kirk and his team were at our house within a week of making the appointment. They were fast, efficient, friendly. They even removed some branches that were behind our garage! I will definitely be calling them again in the future if anything else tree related comes up.

This is the third time I have used McKinney Brothers and I will use them again. Highly professional operation from start to finish. I received an estimate the same day I called and I scheduled the work 2 months later. Kirk and crew showed up exactly on time, had the trees down and cleaned up within an hour. Not only are they proficient and well priced they care about safety and cleanliness. I cannot say enough good things about them.

2nd time I use their services. Called Kirk in 1 day and he understood my problem right away. I needed to deal with a fallen branch and worries of what my tree do next. Kirk did not make empty promises. Tree was cut, cleaned up and now I am a happy customer. Thank you!
