McKinney Tree Service has some of the best customer service of any contractor I have worked with. They return calls promptly, give quick estimates, and follow up. The work done was relatively complicated given very limited access to a few of the tree limbs. They did a careful, top rate job. There was lots of potential for damage to surrounding cars, roof, etc and nothing was scratched.

We enjoyed working with Kirk and his crew. Their estimate was lower than another company and they were prompt and efficient in their work. We would recommend them and hire them again.

Extremely competitive prices. Very personable, showed up on time to do the work and finished quickl. They missed one tree, which they were supposed to cut down, but they responded promptly and courteously and came out soon after to take care of it. I plan to hire again this year for more tree work.

From my initial inquiry to coming home to find the job done, my experience was excellent. The work was completed more quickly than anticipated as the recent heavy rains bumped my job ahead of others not requiring heavy equipment on wet grass. In spite of the soggy ground, there was no damage to surrounding grass and not even a footprint left in the area from which the shrubs were removed.

Kirk McKinney provided the estimate and performed the actual cutting of the tree. He was honest, professional and personable. I was very satisfied with the quality of work.

They did a great job. They did exactly what they said they would do. It was an entirely possible experience. They are very knowledgeable.

They were good just in talking with them. I did receive a quote from them and their prices were below what I was expecting.

GREAT! I inquired via email and Kimberly (co-owner/wife) got back to me ASAP! They were very eager to gain my business that I had to tell them to wait until I close on the property! Once I closed on the property, I re-emailed Kimberly back (Friday) and the next day I received a phone call from Kirk (co-owner/husband) to come that day to check out the work needed to be done. Kirk came in his little SMART car, did the estimate and handed me a price. I confirmed right there on the spot that I wanted the work done. He said he'd call me once he knew what the schedule was for that week. The next day, Kirk called and scheduled the work for that week. Kirk and team showed up and within an hour they where done! Tree was cut down, others pruned back and everything cleaned up! I opted to keep the wood from the tree I cut down to split for firewood. They placed it neatly on the side of my driveway. No damage anywhere! It is great to see a family run business these days! It is not everyday the owner of a company comes out to meet with you and even do the work! I will definitely use McKinney in the future!!!

Everything went really smoothly and promptly from the time I called for an appointment and estimate, to the completion of the job. The branches of trees surrounding our house arched over our roof, and at the same time, provided our house with plenty of shade. Kirk immediately knew what we were up against the moment he saw our trees and our house. He was very thoughtful and thorough in his assessment. He looked at the situation from my perspective as homeowner, and he also shared his perspective as an arborist. I sensed his dedication to his work and also his forthrightness as a business person. His quote was simple and clear (i.e., not cluttered with options). Kim was prompt and friendly on the phone. Information she gave over the phone was clear and actually happened the way she said it would. On the day Kirk and his crew came to work, they were also prompt and very professional. Kirk worked alongside his crew, and together, they did everything they came to do. I am very pleased. They certainly offer superior tree service and people service.

My initial call was answered by live person who set appointment for quote. Owner showed up when scheduled, gave me lowest quote of four I obtained. When I called later to accept the quote I was told I'd receive a call within two weeks on a Sunday to let me know what day that week they would arrive. The following Sunday the owner called to say he'd be here on Wednesday between 7:30 and 8:00 AM, and on they showed up on Wednesday exactly at 7:30. They carefully removed a hammock and some flag-stones so their truck would not damage them, which they replaced when through, about one hour later. The crew was like a well-oiled machine and a pleasure to watch.

The quality of the work was great and owner drives a modcar and I like him just for that. I am happy with them overall.

A six-unit, self-managed condominium, we had used McKinney Bros twice before, to remove a large, dying maple tree and to prune remaining linden, beech and maple trees. We had been extremely impressed by McKinney's promptness, professionalism and competitive pricing. We called McKinney to request an estimate to remove a large, dying beech tree and chip a large brush pile. We received an estimate within a week. When we called to schedule the work, we learned that work was being scheduled about two weeks out and to expect a proposed date/time within a week. A couple of days later, we were offered next day service since another job had been pushed out a day. The crew arrived on time, performed the work as planned, cleaned up completely and performed a bit of extra work for a small additional fee. Everyone was professional, personable and accommodating.

Kirk or Kimberly always call back soon after my phone message. Always polite and responsive. Kirk comes out to do estimates evenings and weekends and always arrives when he says he will. If something delays him, he will call to let me know. He removed a medium sized tree that had become uprooted and was leaning over my neighbor's fence pushing it down. He came to estimate early on Saturday morning; responded, on Sunday afternoon, to my voice mail that I wanted to get the work done; and was here on Monday morning to to do the work. In 10 minutes, he and his crew of three or four had the tree chopped down and the shallow roots and stump removed. They even carted away a large broken tree branch from the other side of the yard. I will be using them again in the winter to cut back all the overgrown trees in the yard.

They were excellent, prompt, professional, helpful, and did what they said they would do.

McKinney Bros.Tree Service was superior right from the start. Kirk McKinney returned my call promptly and was even early for the estimate appointment, they had the best price by far. I am overjoyed with the job that was done and feel that I got more then my money's worth, everything they did looks perfect, they did a great job cleaning up also! They seemed very professional. They showed up on time and did the required work fairly quickly. They also cleaned up after themselves and sent a nice thank-you note afterward.

They gave us the quote for cutting back our neighbor?s tree that was hanging over in our yard and found a way to deal with the tree stump which the other company said they could not do. I will be using them to do the stump grinding initially. They are professional, responsive and their prices were reasonable.

We had 3 companies give us estimates for this work. McKinney was the most responsive and had the best price. They did an outstanding job thinning and pruning the maple. They also got rid of a massive pile of brush we had created reclaiming our back yard form the jungle all for a reasonable price.

Kirk showed up for estimate as scheduled and took time to evaluate appearance of lawn and location of trees and make recommendations with good justification over and above what we had considered. Trained as arborist and also said he would be on site with the crew. Once we called to confirm that we would like his company to perform the service, Kirk said he would call and let us know within the next few days whether he could schedule the work to be completed the following week. He called as scheduled and was able to schedule our work within the week following the estimate. On the day of service, Kirk and the crew showed up on time and the amount of time required was as estimated - crew worked very efficiently and took the time to clean up debris and also organize yard items so that they were back in place. Safety equipment was present and workers appeared to use equipment to prevent any potential accident while working. After service provided, Kirk went over what was done and made sure to answer any questions we had.

McKinney is fantastic. The workmen arrived promptly, did high-quality work, and cleaned up afterwards. Everyone who knows trees comments on the good job that they did on the maple, which had been threatening to take over the house. We now have more sunlight in the living room. As they worked, I kept thinking of additional things that needed to be done -- such as cutting back the branches of the neighbor's trees that were hanging over the property line and darkening the house -- and they did them cheerfully with only a slight price increase. I plan to have this company come back every spring to maintain the tree.

Kirk made the shrubbery look much better from the sidewalk/street, and made some clearance between the shrubs and the house, and with the front stairs. They were very prompt in responding (same or next day), then coming out for an estimate and doing the work on the promised day. We weren't home but they did everything as promised and cleaned up - no mess or loose branches. Take our price grade with a grain of salt - we haven't used other providers of this type of service, so we don't have points of comparison. We also don't know how the shrubs will do over the coming months and years, but so far they seem fine.

There was a sycamore maple (poor quality invasive tree, now illegal to plant in MA) on our back property line that was dropping branches into our yard every time the wind blew. I was worried for our toddler so wanted the tree removed. McKinney Bros. gave the lowest bid and were nice over the phone and clear about what they'd do (I never actually met them; my wife did and liked them). Since it was just a simple removal, I figured going with the lowest bid made sense. I think their bid was low because they accessed the tree from a bucket truck from the neighbor's driveway instead of climbing the tree. They came and did the work very quickly, leaving the stump at fence level (the fence had grown into the tree) as we had requested. We're happy with the results.

Called for estimate. Received quickly. Have not decided on service company provider yet.

I e-mailed the company on a Friday night, by Saturday morning somebody called me back saying that they would be at my house in 20 min., I told them that it would be impossible for me to be home by that time, because I had an appointment. They told not to worry, that they'll leave the estimate in my mail box and they asked about which kind of job I'd like them to perform, I gave a brief info about my desires and my concerns, and that was it. They left the estimate, I called the back saying that I agreed, and asked when they were able to start, they told me that in two weeks. On a Sunday evening they called me, letting me know that they were coming on Tuesday at 8:00 am. They did a great job, going far and beyond my expectations. Really professionals, they know what are doing.
