They were awesome. While they were here, they very kindly walked through my property and told me what I needed to expand and sort of when to do it, which was very helpful. They charged me $375 to trim off the tree. They came out very promptly to give me an estimate and they were realistic about when they could get the work done. They didn’t get the work done terribly fast but as I was still in the process of cleaning up after the hurricane, it was understandable. They came when they said they were going to come. I liked having my expectations set and so I really appreciated that. They cleaned up. They just came out, did the job and cleaned up after themselves. It was really nice. They were competitive with everybody else in terms of price. The quality of work was excellent. I can’t actually think of anything that they weren’t excellent on. I will use their services again in the future.

This was a great experience. He sent me an estimate, told me they'd schedule within 2 weeks, called the Sunday ahead as promised, to confirm, then came at the appointed time. I live out of state, and I depended on McKinney to clean up my back yard which had accumulated several piles of large downed branches, and also to take down a heavy branch/trunk that was midway between house and shed, and threatened both. The tree was actually in the neighbor's yard, and was also pulling down their fence. I shopped around a bit and found that Arborway was a little cheaper ($480) estimating on a somewhat smaller job (not counting the pile of wood debris), but they were booking 8 weeks out. If you want to compare apples to apples, at least specify the same job to each estimator! I liked that McKinney understood and took on my goal of clearing out the yard as much as possible, and he went through the wood pile and removed as much as he could, that wasn't full of nails. He removed all the piles of branches. I feel that he took the time to make the difference in price, worth it. They were very comfortable working in my close urban neighborhood (Bourne St in JP) - he said he's there all the time, it's like a little village. I assume he climbed the tree. Other co's with big bucket trucks and humongous chippers would never make it into the common driveway (not that McKinney doesn't have large equipment, just that they're versatile).

I am extremely pleased with the service received. Kimberly promptly responded to my initial e mail request and to several follow ups. Once the job was scheduled Kirk arrived when he said he would. Both Kimberly and Kirk were professional and a pleasure to work with.

Kirk McKinney is a master orchestrator of doing a huge job in a day. He brought in a crew of 6 additional workers who were phenomenal. They worked hard all day without taking a lunch break. Kirk did most of the cutting with great skill and another worker climbed the trees and cut the branches down while the additional workers dragged them to the chipping truck. They worked non-stop for hours and accomplished an amazing amount. The log truck came in the afternoon and hauled it all away.

Kirk arrived in his SmartCar (appreciated the environmental efficiency right then), gave an estimate, arranged to set a date for the work. Work done efficiently and cleanly. Higly recommend Kirk and his crew!

After Hurricane Irene I needed a tree removed from on top of my garage. Kirk came out to see the job, gave me a price, and the very next day a crew removed the tree and all of the debris. Excellent and professional. Would use again.

They were quick and punctual. They came out and gave us a free estimate. they came back right when they said they would and took care of the tree in a timely and professional manner.

The work crew arrived exactly at the specified time and performed all services quoted, all tree branches and obstructions were removed and disposed of properly.

They came and gave us a quote on the spot that was comparable to two other estimates. I think it was a fair price considering the circumstances. These guys made tree removal following storms an art form. We enjoyed watching them take apart the tree with the professionalism of Seal Team 6. Really. They were great, they quickly dissected a giant, precariously hanging tree in 45 minutes then neatly swept up and were off to the next house. As far as costs, their estimate was about the same as two others and much lower than one of the estimates we got but the reason I chose them was the great reviews that I had read here and from friends. I would not hesitate to use them again. I like that they are family owned.

It went very well and they were finished in under an hour. They moved all pots to protect from damage and put them back when they were done.

Really good experience with McKinney. I've used Hartney Greymont in the past and got a quote from them to trim my wisteria. They were going to charge me $700 for this work, and tried to sell me more services. I called McKinney Bros and got a return call right away. Kirk called me that evening to inquire about the work I needed done. He came by my house the same day and gave me an estimate for $385. They did the work within a couple of weeks and even called me that day to let me know they were running a little late. They did a fabulous job at a good price. I'll absolutely use them again.

Great!! I was actually away on business and my wife had to answer questions and such. I just had a new driveway put down last year and was not comfortable having the truck on it, so then accommodated and cut the tree by climbing (I let them know before hand). They also had to grind the stump which required taking two fences down. They had to access the stump from my neighbor's yard because they did not want to damage my patio. They cut down the tree, took care of the stump and left me lengths to split into nice fire wood. There was no damage to the patio, my shed or driveway. The fences were put back properly. Kirk and team went above and beyond this time! I am 110% completely satisfied with their work and will hire them again and again (I have a lot of trees in my backyard).

Excellent experience.....Kirk came out about a week before & gave us his professional opinions & recommendations. He addressed our questions and concerns and helped to guide us in our decisions. He is knowledgable as well as humble & communications were professional and easy. They showed up with a full crew to do the work and completed everything in about 45 minutes. They were running a little late but did call to inform us (this is a huge plus for our family schedule). They cleaned up great and even ground down an additional stump which was not in the contract.........Thank you!!

Wonderful job! We would never even think of hiring any other tree company. These guys are fantastic and at a great price. About an hour for everything . Seeing Kirk again was like seeing an old friend. Great guy, with a great team of workers.

It went very well I only wish that I had requested that they trim back some branches (live) that hang over our deck - my fault for not thinking about it in advance.

Kurt McKinney came to my house several weeks ago on the day that I contacted him to give me an estimate. Since that time he has been extremely responsive, always calls when he says he will, shows up when he says he will, and the whole team is extremely professional. They did a great job removing a large tree and cutting down branches, and were extremely respectful of our property, always moving objects out of their path prior to starting, and replacing everything and cleaning up completely at the end of the job. Even when they accidentally damaged one part of our fence with a large chunk of tree, they took the time to fix it themselves.

They are terrific and absolutely great!

The work went well overall. They replied promptly to an enquiry I had. They come promptly to do the work. I would tell others that the people that work for them are very courteous and do a very good job of cleaning up. There was a lot of tree debris around when they did the job and they cleaned it up in such was that nothing was done there.

They responded immediatley and came quickly out to give an estimate. The price was right in the middle of the estimates that we received but Kirk and Kim were both so personable and helpful that they made the choice easy. They were able to schedule the work to be done within two weeks and everything was done perfectly. I could not have asked for a better experience!
