Mike Wilding Builder Remodeler

We contracted with MIke on 6/28/2012 to remove our old 9 x 21 deck/porch which was partially enclosed ( about 9 x 12 enclosed) and build a 12 x 20 deck/porch which was going to be totally enclosed. Mike was to build the frame, install a rubber roof and install a plywood/cement board floor. I am very handy and am going to enclose the deck, put porcelain tile down on the floor and finish the ceiling and interior wall. Before writing the 1st check we asked if this work could be done before Labor day ( about 12 weeks away ) because we have a big family cookout on Labor day. Mike said no problem would only take 10-12 days to complete. We should have got that in writing. I figured I needed a couple of weeks to do the finish work. We waited and waited, finally 2 weeks before Labor day, I called Mike and asked him to wait until after Labor day. There was no way it was going to be done in time and would have been a mess for the cookout. He said OK no problem, Started work on September 5th. Expected to have the old deck and roof removed and new one built. Now Mike said he was going to leave the old roof frame and floor frame and just expanding it out. Fine, at this point we just wanted to get it finished, that part was in good shape, as long as it was done right and looked good we figured it would go quicker. I don't know if he had too much work or what, but we never saw a crew. Just saw Mike for a few hours a day, a few days a week. This job was really tough to do by yourself and maybe that's why there were so many problems. It took about 6 weeks to finish. There were lots of problems along the way. I gave Mike an exact plan with the exact dimensions I wanted for this project. there was problems with the height of the roof ( which he fixed) and spacing between the poles that hold up the roof. Basically, it didn't match the plan. There is a dip in the floor on the right side. I mentioned it to Mike, but he said it shouldn't be a problem. Now that I'm doing the tile it seems much more noticeable. I should have had him correct this, now its too late. When finishing the trim along the top they actually used two different colors of trim ( white and creme) that was fixed. Now this deck is going to be completely enclosed. The first time it rained I had water dripping in from under the new roof! The new roof was fine, turns out there was a good sized space between the new roof frame and the existing house roof. I sealed this. Several of the poles holding up the roof were not level. I was able to get them reasonably level. My neighbor had a deck with a roof built by Mike ( that's how I heard of him,( from the sign in their yard) and its not good. If I had seen that before hiring Mike I probably would not have hired him. Mike is a nice enough guy, easy to get along with.Overall I would say his work on our deck was sloppy at best.

Overall both encounters were less than satisfactory.

Mike and workers did complete gutting and replacement of entire kitchen and bathroom. Three rooms torn apart and replaced with a beautiful kitchen area. Changed my plans and added more changes and ideas almost daily and the guys graciously followed through with my wishes. The workers, electrician, plumber and Mike did an excellent job. I love my new kitchen and bathroom. Wouln't hesitate to hire Mike and his awsome crew again.

This is the second time I have worked with Mike Wilding. He is exceptionally great with communication and honesty. He responded to each of my phone calls within the day. The front porch was quite large, railings had to be replaced as well. He replaced rotting wood with a trex-type material. Very easy to work with, I was quite pleased. It's been a week and I've received several compliments on the new deck already! Last fall he replaced the front steps at my house. He ran into a problem (profusely rotten wood and other damage under the landing) and called me right away. Prices are the best around.

Wonderfully, best priced on of many contracts, reliable caring responsible, extremly pleasant to work with.

Everything worked out well. Forgot to mention the electrition and plumber that was contractored by Mike, they were also very good and easy to work with. I changed my mind and added so much I think I made them dizzy! All and all I am happy with the completion of the work.

They did an excellent job, they showed up on time, worked all day with minimal breaks. The job took about two weeks from start to finish.The estimate was right on, and the work performed was excellent. I would use them again without question.

Mike Wilding showed up first thing in the morning just like he said he would. They started by gutting out everything in the bathroom all the way down to the studs, that took two days,then they prep the bathroom, had the plumber and electrician come in then they started the tile.After finishing the tile they installed the vanity and toilet,,,the tube was installed before they tiled the shower walls. The workers that came to do the work were like family, very polite and professional. I would highly recommend them. The whole project took about 5 weeks..
