I am completely satisfied and pleased with John Young and his construction company. From the beginning he took the time to understand the job, as well as some details and problems which were unique to my house. When he submitted a bid, I was confident that he knew exactly what he was proposing, and there would be no surprises. In fact, there were no surprises. John worked with the town inspector and the septic engineer to resolve an unexpected clay layer which partially intruded into the leach field. They found a solution which achieved the engineering objectives at little or no additional cost -- the "standard, uncreative solution" would have cost substantially more. John worked with us to coordinate the installation, and kept our drains flowing throughout the process. John's equipment was right for the task. He used several different pieces, each for the most appropriate application. He was not constrained by lack of facilities. John's employees were curtious and friendly. All appropriate provisions were made to reduce incidental damage to the driveway. Inevitable disruption of adjacent areas was repaired as part of the job. We needed a tree to be removed (by our choice -- work which was not part of the engineering drawings), because removing it would be more difficult after the job was complete. John's company arranged for the tree removal for a very reasonable additional cost. Overall we remain pleased with the job, and have recommended John Young Contracting to others.
