I used Ogilvie's for 8+ years to provide my heating oil and my furnace cleaning and maintenance work. Great customer service and always super responsive. Customer phone support is great too! I highly recommend! I only stopped using them as I recently moved out of sate!

I was a customer for several years. Twice over the last winter we ran out of oil. the first time they arrive just after we ran out and restarted the furnace for us without us having to call. They literally arrived for a normal delivery within a few minutes of us discovering the problem. We use oil to heat our hot water so we need delivery year round. We ran out again on the morning of July 5th. Because of the holiday no one was available and we were without hot water for a day. When I called for an immediate delivery, they said they were sorry but didn't offer any compensation for the inconvenience. They also insisted there was nothing wrong with their delivery scheduling despite the two failures.

We were a long time (10+ year) customer of Ogilive but have had such a disappointing experience as of late that that we have been compelled to find a different provider for oil. Ogilvie forgot to delivery oil to us and we found ourselves with an empty oil tank. When they finally got around to delivering oil, the burner wouldn't start and a tech had to come by to restart the burner (covered by contract). During the restart, the technician broke the oil filter which we discovered a few weeks later due to persistent oil smell in the house. The technician came back to repair the filter but hours later on the coldest evening of the year we found out the heat was not working. We had to call a plumber friend of ours who discovered that the technician hadn't bled the oil lines prior to leaving. A month later no oil delivered again. At this point, we're done with Ogilive and strongly suggest that anyone considering them for oil delivery look elsewhere.

The guys at Ogilvie's are great. They have enduring patience for the do-it-yourself crew and they know a ton. They know excellent resources when they can't help, and they share generously. They also seem to have almost everything I've ever needed right there in the store, and when they don't, they have an alternative suggestion.

This is a small, old-fashioned hardware store that puts enormous emphasis on customer service. There is always someone available to advise and help you, and they willingly spend 1/2 hr with you even if you are only buying a couple of screws. (And you can buy just a couple of screws, you don't have to get a whole package!) For our new mailbox, we got a lot of instructions from the salesman, along with all the small parts needed to make it come together, including pieces of wood they cut to mount to the post because the mail box can't go directly on the post. We buy nearly all our hardware and paint here because we want so much to see this place stay open in the face of all the competition. (And they have scissor and knife sharpening!)
