I had my first dealing with Central Mass tree a few days ago when I purchased four chords of "seasoned" firewood. The wood is far from seasoned in fact it might as well have been cut last week. 45% moisture content, not even suitable for this season. When I call the office and spoke to Christine she said she'd look into it. Of course there was no reply so I called back eventually ending up with Randy, the owner. This is one effed up guy. I don't know if he's on drugs or drinking but he couldn't even field a basic question without resorting to screaming and threatening me. He claims 45% moisture content constitutes seasoned wood which of course is nonsense. Pay attention to the online reviews for this place and steer well clear. There's something majorly wrong with him and the way he conducts business.

They cursed out my elderly father when he called about his dissatisfaction regarding his wet wood. He was hung up on then they called back at which point they called him a "stupid SPIC" and hung up again. My dad is 100% Irish. Wow. Seems these people are on drugs or lack any professionalism. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

The wood was absolutely terrible, and the delivery person was gruff and arrived late. I would never order from here again. The wood was maybe 30% rotted and covered with white and black mold. Some of it was rotted enough to be too soft to use, and we had to discard it. It smelled bad while burning. Never again!

Randy responded to my message and offered a good price including local delivery for a cord of seasoned barkless wood. The wood is great, some pieces are of an odd length, but not a big deal for me. He had the delivery done within a few days and placed where we asked. We had to pay cash which as a neighbor is a bit inconvenient and he gave us a 6 hour delivery window which I think is excessive, but all went well. Randy is not the warmest on the phone and I think that can rub people the wrong way, but I found him cordial enough and he did apologize for calling me later in the evening which was thoughtful. He supplies many neighbors and I would recommend him.

They showed up towards the tail-end of our agreed upon 5 hour window, but within the window. They provided me with one cord of debarked, seasoned wood. Moisture content ranged from 7% to 16%. Have burned a couple times already and am happy with the quality. One thing to know is that while debarked firewood may be mess free in bringing it in to your fireplace, it was messier than I thought it would be during the drop off. There was a fair amount of shredded bark, and small slivers of wood in the pile. It took some extra time in stacking the wood because of this. I plan on using the small slivers of wood as kindling, and as far as the shredded back, it will go in the compost pile. This won't preclude me from using them again next year, it's just something to know.

On Wednesday I received a call from another person telling me the cost quoted me was erroneous; the actual delivery cost was $25.00. I had made a verbal contract, in good faith. Now, the company was increasing the price. The person was rude to both me and my husband and we ended up cancelling the delivery. I might have accepted the deal, or a compromise, if the person has not yelled and been so rude.

The one thing that really impressed us was that the crew worked tirelessly and finished most of the job one day before Hurricane Sandy was going to hit Massachusetts.There were 3 large dead Ash trees to finish that were over hanging the house that they couldn't get done before dark. The crew came back the next morning very early as the wind was starting to roar and the quickly downed the 3 trees and cut them up! Sandy hit with full force a couple hours after they left. I'm sure one of those trees would have been on our house if not for their dedication. Thank you Randy and guys!

I actually ended up with more firewood than ordered, other estimates i received were in the $285.00 $295.00 range but these quotes were not for de-barked firewood and did not have fuel costs included. I feel the additional $50.00 was worth it, the quality of the firewood is the best i ever bought. I have never been 100% happy with the firewood i have purchased in the past...long pieces, short pieces, dirty wood. This guy delivered the wood on the day and time he said he would and declared the de-barked wood was his very best firewood and i agree 100%. Its nice to get exactly what you paid for, when i run out i'm calling Central Mass Tree.

I spent $1300 on their services. They were on time and they did good work too. The customer service that they provided was excellent. I will use their services again in the future if I need to.

They were 60 dollars more than the next highest person I called. The man yelled at me and said he didn't want to do business with me, he was having a bad day and misunderstood me. He never showed up and I still don't have wood. He didn't want my business.

They showed up on time, the quality of the wood was good, and the price was fair. The owner of the company just lives right up the street from me.

We recently bought a house that has been vacant for some time. There were several trees that had lingering damage from the ice storm a couple winters ago, the trees were dying and some rather large branches were hanging ready to fall. There were also a few trees that were planted some years ago too close to the house. They had grown large enough to be a threat to the foundation and blocked a lot of light from coming in the windows. In addition, because the house was vacant (and possibly some neglect from the previous owners) every bush had either grown to enormous size or were withering and dead. The rhododendron bushes were just about the edge of the 1 story roof (easily over 10ft tall), and they also blocked several of the windows. Other cedar trees/bushes were mostly dead. It turns out Randy and Central Mass Tree is s practically our neighbor. He was eager to help and gave thorough descriptions of what he saw in our yard and listened to our concerns/desires and gave great feedback. After the first visit he provided a detailed estimate of all the different jobs and it was very easy for us to choose exactly how much we wanted to have done. As a side note, Randy was also great with our two young children who were are curious and friendly. The crew showed up early on the day of the work and completed everything in a single day. They took down 5 large trees, cutting them into logs and stacking them neatly for us. They removed a couple other smaller trees right next to the house, and many bushes. They took out all the roots/stumps that they could, chipping everything on-site. I was amazed by how much work they did in a single day, and by how neat they left the yard. There was very little extra debris , and they even tidied the empty beds a bit. Randy and his crew were super friendly. I'm very happy with the work they did and I'm glad to have him as a neighbor.

Central Mass Tree is a local company. They did the work in one day itself. They started at 7 in the morning and worked till 8 at night. They did exactly what I wanted them to do and worked pretty damn hard. The tree service guy came back out that night because he had left a screw, as he had other jobs. I have never seen tree guys work as hard as that. They didn't leave any mess and they took everything that I asked them to. They left things behind that i had asked them to because we will be using some of it for firewood. They did an excellent job. We used him when we first moved into our house, as there were a few trees that were rotten. I found him very reliable too.
