They were quick and professional. They cleaned up everything afterwards. They gave me a military discount.

Express Roofing arrived on time (6:30 am) and got to the roof in short order. Dumpster came at 6:45 materials at 7:00. A crew of 15 performed like a well coached football team. Each member knew what their jobs were and got to it. Dan ( the crew chief) was there to answer any questions I may hve and get the effort moving. All shrubs were protected and both sides of the house were tarped in order to protect the siding and landscapeing and collect the old shingles. Few shingles wound up on the lawn. They replaced 3 sheets of plywood due to moisture issues. Then re-nailed the entire roof with ring-shank nails because 25 years ago common nails were used which will loosen over time. Better to be safe then have plywood come loose and be problematic. (this is standard practice) The roof was stripped of old shingles in 1.5 hours!! The new roofing was installed, debris picked up, tarps were folded and stray nails were collected and the boys were on they way by 3:15! Express Roofing is a Gold-Certified GAF installer. Not only is their work warranteed for 10 years but they also can offer an additional 50 year GAF warrantee which is transferrable. I won't be around in 50 years but having a transferrable warrantee that can be passed on to the new owners is a nice incentive when selling your home. The warrantee cost was nominal. Great experience.

Their prices are right down the middle. They worked fast. We had another roofer before them that could not finish the job. They were very professional. They knew what they were doing. They did not leave a mess to clean up.

I contracted Express Roofing to replace my 20+ year old roof. The owner of the company, Mike, was very responsive. He had lots of references compared to other roofing companies I contacted. On the day of the replacement job, a large crew of 14 people showed up at around 6:30am. They stripped the old roof and put in the new roof by 1pm. I was pleased by how fast they finished the job. The roof looks great. Minor complaints: The crew scratched one of the skylight windows and one exterior window. I am guessing that a shingle hit the exterior window. They also seemed to step on the gutter that left marks on some places. One note about nails. The crew walked around my house with a heavy duty magnet to pick up nails. However, there were still a large number of nails that remained around my property. I have a metal detector. I gave it to my son and have him find nails left by the roofing job. So far he found about 60.

Service was performed well and on time. Price was excellent and matched original estimate. I had a complexity in that several of my under boards had rotted and needed to be replaced. These were charged at $60 a piece as quoted in the original estimate (I knew that many were rotted in advanced) so there were not surprises. This caused the work to not be completed on the first day, but they returned the following day (Saturday) to complete the work. Workers were polite and clean-up was very good.

Great service! They have a large crew and everybody knows their job. Eleven workers came, ripped off the old roof (after laying tarps to catch debris), replaced with new shingles, cleaned up (also cleaned any leftover leaves from the Fall - thank you) and were finished in less than 7 hours. Amazing to watch and very grateful they were able come quickly before the cold weather. Mike gave a clear estimate. We had a problem with some wooden shingles that could have been a potential mess, but it was handled professionally and costs were kept down and they only did what was necessary. Prices were very fair. Highly recommend Express Roofing!

Was very responsive early on, very professional on providing estimates, however, when we called to discuss financing. It became increasingly difficult to get callbacks. I am difficult to reach myself sometimes due to the nature of my job. But I did ask if there was a specific time we could discuss and never had calls returned. I wondered if I did something wrong, or was a pain as a potential customer.

They came over, gave me a brochure with samples of the GAF roofing materials, inspected the roof and said they would be mailing me a quote. The quote was very competitive, but I was surprised to find that the quote I received in the mail, was not using the same materials / samples as given to me in the brochure. When I asked for a quote using the materials in the brochure, the company was good about revising the quote; which was still very competitive for the work being done. I ultimately went with another company, but I'm sure that Express Roofing would have done a good job on my roof if they had been selected.

Everything went great! The only glitch was when the crew got into an auto accident on their way to the site and had to delay the job a day. The crew arrived the next day and finished the job same day by about 4pm. The roof looks great and the crew did a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves. We are very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone. Everything went just as advertised and just as described.

This was an excellent and professional job. I called, left a message, got a return call within an hour. We discussed the work, and Mike came within a few days to review the site and prepare an estimate. I had the estimate by the end of that week. This was lower than other estimates, and the straight-A rating on Angie's List closed the deal. I called back and Mike was able to get me on his schedule for a few days later. Mike answered questions and we worked out some final details on the job over e-mail. He was very responsive. The work itself took only about four hours from start to finish! The dumpster arrived on the morning the work was to be done, and shortly thereafter the roofing materials were delivered. A crew of about a dozen men appeared just after noon as promised. Danny, the crew chief, met me and we reviewed the job. The crew immediately got to work. They draped the house (front and back) with enormous tarps to catch materials tossed from the roofs. I observed the work for most of the time--it was amazing. They were all business, no chatting, no breaks--just focused on getting the job done. Everyone had a role. With about 6-8 guys on the roofs, the roofs were stripped in about 30 minutes. Then some guys started ferrying materials up the ladders while others focused on installation. A lot happened in parallel, it really was a sight to behold. While the watershield was being laid, the chimney was reflashed, the ridge vent widened, and a rotted section of plywood replaced. Over the watershield went the drip edges, on all four sides. They did a thorough job of applying watershield around plumbing stack vents, along the ridge, and around the chimney. Then came the shingles and ridge vent. As they wound down the crew did some caulking and sealing, particularly where the deck roof meets the main body of the house. Finally, they did a thorough cleanup around the house, using rolling magnets to collect nails, etc. While I watched thru binoculars, Danny answered lots of questions in a very friendly way. He showed me the products they were using and explained them to me, and why things were being done the way they were. He gave me a lot of confidence that they knew what they were doing. He also explained that the crew had been working together for Express Roofing for many years, in some cases more than ten years! The final result looks great. Just a couple of things to be aware of: When there's ten guys working on your roof, particularly when they're stripping old shingles, it gets noisy in the house and the house does shake somewhat. There wasn't any cracking or damage inside my house afterwards, but I could imagine that happening--it's a bit like a minor earthquake. Also, the work created an enormous amount of wood dust inside the attic, so I needed to go up with a vacuum and clean off some things I had stored up there. Next time I would throw a tarp over the stored items before the work started.

The owner came and gave an estimate. I received the estimate which was satisfactory and contacted him to do the work. The dumpster arrived on Saturday. The crew showed up on Monday and removed and replaced shingles as well as flashing around the chimney. The work was done quickly and professionally.

When we decided to have our roof reshingled we went to Angies' List and selected three firms. Express was the first one we called, and Mike (the Owner) was so prompt with his response and reasonable with his proposal (which included assurance that the work would be completed in one day) that we did not look further. On the selected date the dumpster arrived at 6:30 AM and Danny, the very able foreman, showed up shortly afterward with his 14 man crew. The work proceded efficiently with only a few problems, and was done, including a thorough cleanup, about 5:00 PM. Danny then walked around the house with us and described his work in detail. We were pleased with the way the project went, and would certainly recommend consideration of Express Roofing for any job of this nature.

I waited this long to see how the roof held up over the bad winter and the recent tropical storm. No leaks! The owner was very nice and explained everything to me. This was the best price by far out of 3 estimates. He promised it would take 2 days and it did. Good clean up.The crew came on time and worked till it was dark.

Our roof was more than 30 years old, had a hole in it and needed to be replaced. We chose Express Roofing because they sounded competent, gave a professional proposal and offered a substantial (manufacturers) discount. The large crew arrived very early on the day we arranged. We were out of town. The foreman called us when they discovered that most of the plywood under the shingles needed to be replaced. The job continued to escalate, when we realized that the fascia boards also needed to be replaced. They were very cooperative as they needed to deal with a much bigger job than planned. Much to our surprise, when they were ripping off the damaged plywood, it shook the whole house so much that many items fell off various shelves. Luckily only one thing broke. We would advise anyone needing their plywood replaced to move any breakable items to the floor before the work starts. Of course, the final price was much higher than the initial estimate. There was one misunderstanding and some breakage, both of which they dealt with to our satisfaction.

Met Mike, the owner, when he came by to do a quote. His offer came in well below the other quote I got from another AL-recommended roofer; however, it also had a kicker: $1k off if we accepted within a week. So we did, and were very glad about it.We had a minor hole in the roof, and Express agreed to get to us very quickly. We signed on Friday and they did the work the next Wednesday. Wow! The crew showed up a little before 7 and got right to it. The house isn't small (~2500 sf), but they were done by 3 pm. They did a very neat and thorough job. They seemed to really care about the quality of their work. The most junior person on the crew had been with them 6 years -- you don't find that kind of job loyalty if people aren't being well taken care of. Altogether, it was a very impressive operation. I would gladly use them again, or recommend them to anyone.

I spoke with Mike the owner. He was very responsive to my initial query. He came over and looked at the job and gave me a written estimate. He also gave me a coupon for a substantial amount off. I wanted it done soon due to travel and he went out of this way to work with me. On the day he said he'd be here, at 7 AM a small army of roofers arrived and proceeded attack the project. They were completely done and cleaned up at 2 PM. The job site was spotless. Mike was very responsive after the fact in taking care of some minor damage. His on site foreman is very professional and easy to work with. All in all I can't think of why anyone would need anyone else to do their roofing. Mike and Express Roofing are the best!

Through the proposal process, I dealt with Mike, the owner, who was incredibly helpful. His proposal gave the best description and graphics of what the new roof would look like. He provided large samples of the colors we wanted so we could show the historic commission. Even the morning of the job my spouse had some last minute questions and he was incredibly knowledgeable over the phone. We have a very nice contractor but he didn't have the depth of knowledge that Mike has about the contents of these products and how they work over time. I also appreciated that since he and his team are dedicated to roofing they had all the tarps, magnets and specialty tools to make this clean and quick work, plus they work with a vendor who recycles the old shingles. All of the 4 proposals that we got were close but Mike's was cheaper due to the coupon and we felt that we knew we'd get everything we wanted where the other proposals were murky and might have had lots of last minute extras. It was tough to schedule the work due to the rains. They didn't require any deposit beforehand. We did the project about 3 weeks after I sent them my contract and they honored a $1000 coupon that I had. They called on Monday said work would start at 7am the next day (I had told them I was flexible). A dumpster to haul away and recycle the old shingles arrived Monday afternoon. Supplies and workers began arriving outside at 6:30am Tuesday and come 7 everyone was hard at work. Wooden supports were in place to protect our extensive perennial garden and rhodedendron (virtually unscathed), then long tarps over those. The foreman, Danny introduced himself and was my contact throughout the day. I'd asked to see the roof before it was recovered to be assured that the wood was in good condition we inspected the fascia, I signed off on the chimney work and placement of the soffits, he paid attention to areas where the ice damming caused the most leaks. He was patient, clear and easy to talk to about the roof. Everything went smoothly and they were done by about 1:40 when I paid them in full. It's still a dirty job, but they cleaned better than you'd expect using magnets, and leaf blowers and tarps. We still had to wipe down porch furniture and the grill later. The dumpster was picked up an hour later and spilled the tiniest bit staples but I'd been warned to be careful of my tires post dumpster. A tractor trailer came Wednesday morning to pick up the extra lumber that they didn't need to replace our boards since they were in good shape. We've had heavy rains for two days since and all is great! We're very happy and recommend them highly.

They had a lot of workers, sort of swarmed the house and were done by late afternoon. It was perfectly clean, They each had a specific job, did it, and they were gone. They also replaced some rotted wood for us without charging much at all.

A great experience, would use Express Roofing again.

I did a lot of research and received several bids from several companies. I chose Express roofing for several reasons. *They bid for 9 feet of ice/water protection at no extra cost (all other bids only offered the standard 6 feet) *They don't collect any payment until the job is complete, which was nice and gave us peace of mind. *Mike the owner was very informative in his bid and when talking with him. *The foreman Danny came out before the job was to be done and talked about timing and specifics. *We have a small shed near the home that Mike put in the bid to re-roof without my asking and at no extra cost. *Danny was onsite for the entire job and answered all of my questions and concerns. *They guarantee their work in writing and have been in business for a very long time. *They did the job in one day. They arrived at 7:00 a.m. and were done by 4:00 p.m if not earlier. *They draped the exterior of the home to catch debris and cleaned up very nicely also using a rolling magnet. *The bid total was one of the lowest. They use GAF products which other companies had bid higher using the same product line. *I would HIGHLY recommend Express Roofing.

Very good / knowledgable, trustworthy owner and highly experienced foreman

They were quick and very clean. They were very communicative. The foreman who was here definitely spoke English and told us how everything was going and how they were going to work throughout the day. The workers didn't speak English. They were excellent. Their cleanup was perfect; we found one nail outside the house, which was amazing. In six hours we had a new roof. We don't have anything bad to say. Their price was less than some and more than others. We would use them again if we had to.

We phoned several roofers for estimates. Express returned our calls promptly, came out when promised to do the estimate, and then submitted a clear written estimate. We were replacing the original roof on the house (built ca. 1970). We were uncertain about color, so Mike promptly brought over several large (2 x 2') samples, including not only the colors we'd selected from the small samples but also others in the same range he thought we'd be interested in (the small samples look nothing like the large samples). We ended up selecting a color we hadn't considered originally. The actual roofing work began promptly. The foreman and crew were polite and hard-working. Once the old roof was off, it was clear that three sheets of ply decking needed to be replaced, as well as the entirety of the facia; we were then given an estimate of what that would cost. This did mean that instead of taking one day, the job took 1 1/2 days; and it added ca. $2,500 to the original estimate Cleanup was good, but given the time of year (lots of leaves on the ground) not perfect. Consequently, we found a few roofing nails on the driveway, and unfortunately got one in a tire. The damage was made good (new tire and labor) voluntarily when mentioned. Compared with the other initial estimates we received, Express's was lower. Mike was highly professional in his manner, as was his crew. Would definitely recommend Express to anyone looking to replace a roof.
