Express Roofing

Amazing crew- for a decidedly non sexy part of rehabbing a house, these contractors did a job that makes me smile every time I drive up the street and see their work- not a reaction I expected to have! I highly recommend them, they were all very professional and extremely hard workers. We have a lot of roof, and twelve people finished the job in one day, clean up included.

All of this will be fixed, so I learned a lot. Don't hire a roofer who doesn't ask to see the inside of the roofing system. or doesn't tell you that you should replace the skylights for the small amount it will cost vs the re-roof.

Very smooth and quick. The crew is great. Very efficient, well coordinated, pleasant and professional. I asked for quote Friday close to midnight. I got the quote next day. The quote laid out details. I signed the contract the day after. They finished the job in one day. Cleaned well after the job. They did not even ask for down payment. The whole process shows trust and confidence. I am very pleased.

They were very responsive and professional. Their proposal was accompanied by a thick sheaf of papers, each sheet containing the names, addresses and phone numbers of about 40 of their local customers, including quite a few of my friends and neighbors. On the day of the project, the supplies, recycling dumpster and roofers all arrived by 8AM. I watched the first few minutes and was impressed with the team's speed and efficiency. Although I had to leave to go to work, my neighbor called in the afternoon to report that they had finished around 1:00, taking only a 15 minute break. They did a fine job and picked up all the construction debris and nails. I am quite impressed and pleased. They can add my name to that sheaf of papers.

My experience with Express Roofing was top notch. They worked hard and finished the roof on my ranch house in one day. The team was very friendly and two foremen would check the work thoroughly throughout they day. They kept me apprised of issues, such as having to do some structural work on an old porch roof, and were responsive to my calls as questions came up through the day. The extra work needed wasn't too much of a shock to the system, since our house was built in '64 and needed two layers of roof removed. I expected we might find issues, and you should too if you have an older house. The clean up job left my property immaculate, which is really something considering all of the debris generated. I recommend Express Roofing without reservation.

Provider gave reasonable estimate and timeframe. I purchased Owens Corning singles and synthetic underlayment. Singles and dumpster were dropped off on day of installation. No one showed up the first day as they thought it was going to rain. Crew of 10-12 workers showed up the next day and replaced the roof in 10 hours. Foreman called to inquire about upgrading to a better ridge vent material, which I agree to, that ended up costing $100 more than originally estimated. One gutter spout was mangled but the foreman kept the crew there after the roof was done until it was replaced. Compressor used for nail guns burned 4 foot area of lawn. Spotlight was broken but I had an extra one so they removed the end of the old one and replaced it. Cleanup was reasonable except there were a lot of nails left behind. Dumpster was removed 2 days later. The wheels on it were frozen so it left a 4' scrape across my driveway. Workers van had an oil leak that left a permanent stain in driveway. A few flower bed plants were broken. Overall, considering the size of the job, they did a pretty good job. The roof looks beautiful and that's what matters the most. They could have done a little better with the collateral damage, but I expected some anyway.

It was great. They are a very good company. They were very quick but very thorough and didn't make a mess whatsoever- that was amazing! Their communication and customer service was excellent -they stayed in touch through out the process.

It was a quick response. They came right out. They gave a quote and followed up. I did end up going with somebody else but I have nothing bad to say about them.

I did not meet Mike but spoke with him on the phone. He came by and left me material that he uses and sent and e-mail with the proposal.

We are pretty happy with what happened. I was not able to meet anybody who coordinated. I did everything on the phone. Then the person who showed up was their contractor. They did a good job, except that there was no face to face contact with the person I was talking to. It didn’t seem like a personal interaction. It seemed like I was talking to somebody and somebody else was doing the work. But other than that, no complaints. My interaction with them was good. They answered all my questions. There was no problem absolutely. The person that came to give me an estimate was never involved in the work. He was just about giving an estimate. Then the person who coordinated to do the roofing was totally a different person. Third person came and did the work. Everything went well; no problem at all. Maybe I was looking for somebody actually at some point; meeting someone who I was actually dealing with, but that didn’t happen. The price was very good. They were available on the phone to talk to but I didn’t know who I was talking to. With regard to professionalism, I didn’t meet anybody that I was dealing with.

Danny returned my call, and they came when they said they would. He told me the team that would be taking care of my roof, and there they were. Professional, and as gentle as possible given the crazy amount of snow and ice that was up there. They were responsive and listened to all my requests. Felipe and Manny and their colleagues were amazing. They shoveled the parts of the deck that we needed access to when it was all done. They did it all safely. I would hire them again without hesitation. A+ job, thank you Danny, Felipe, Manny and your crew!

I was impressed with how honest he was.

The roof had developed a leak at the interface of an old and new roof installed by another contractor. I called Express to have the entire roof on this side of the home replaced and described the urgency due to the leak. Mike sent his foreman out for an onsite investigation and the foreman identified and temporarily addressed the leaks. They followed up with a speedy quote and plan to do the roof replacement within the week. It ended up being completed on a Sunday to ensure the job was done as promised. From what I could see, the workmanship was of good quality and the team gave the site a thorough cleaning after.

It went well. They gave an estimate then about two weeks later they came out. It was a quick one day process, they came at seven in the morning and left at seven at night. There were about nine men up on the roof. The high ratings stood out so that's why I chose them. They were a great company to work with.

They were excellent , they were very responsive, they did our roof in two days, they were really great, the complete the project in one day as they presumed.

very friendly and professional, beautiful work. john came out the same day i requested an estimate the estimate arrived by email the following morning before 6am. he helped me choose a color for the roof (and it isn't one i'd normally have chosen) but it looks phenomenal! (light gray on a pink house). javier managed the job, he was also friendly and professional and addressed all of my concerns. there was a bit of a misunderstanding about some of the pricing but they totally made things right & ultimately exceeded my expectations. john's son (john jr.) came the following day with his assistant mario and they did a great job finishing the details on the skylight. i am a divorced, senior lady and i feel that i was treated fairly and got a roofing job that i will be happy with for years to come! totally recommend--A++

I was told it could be done in a day and it was! They protected windows, canvassed the ground and were out by the end of they day. Also, the cleanup was superb.

If you read all the other positive reviews on Express Roofing here on Angie's List, my experience was as good as all the others. Mike, the owner, was easy to work with and explained everything. He answered all my questions prior to my engaging Express Roofing for the job, and filled in any questions I didn't ask. He returned all my calls/e-mails in less than 24 hours per occurance, sometimes within a couple of hours. Mike provided a detailed quote, which is how every contractor should operate (and many don't), we came to terms and set a date for the work. Express Roofing showed up on time, performed the work as specified, were very professional, polite and easy to work with. If something seemed amiss, the crew asked questions, or answered any questions I may have had. They completely stripped my roof, installed a new roof and all related materials, and cleaned up the job all in one day. How much more can one ask for? I would highly recommend Express Roofing.

I had 2200 square feet and had a crew of 12 that did the work in one day including stripping 2 layers of shingles to the wood. There were some cracked and broken roof boards that they replaced along with a few extra odds and ends. They also replaced some vents that had rusted out. They did excellent work and were competitive in price.

I shopped several roofers from Angie's list. I selected Express Roofing mainly because they are a local company, they've been in business for (I believe) 20 years, and they had the largest number of completed local roofing projects. The sales process was very responsive and timely. The owner came within a couple of days of my request for a quote over their web site. He inspected my roof that day and submitted a quote withing a couple of days. He left sample shingles so we could decide on a brand and color. I committed to the project. Work began within 2-3 weeks. This was shorter lead time than expected. The workers arrived around 7am. There were 6-8 installers on the job all day. They wanted to complete the project in one day and they stayed well past 7-8pm to meet that goal. Cleanup was exceptional. All old materials were collected in a dumpster and hauled out within a day. I was impressed with the cleanup process especially the use of magnetic sweepers to collect any nails on the ground. They finished after sunset. A few workers came by the next day for a second pass at cleaning our yard. The new roof looks great! I would definately recommend Express Roofing to anyone looking for a quality roofing job.

The crew arrived on time.Asked permission to start the job. In minutes tarps were in place and the job started. I left for work at 8:00am, the crew was about an hour into the job. I arrived home at 6:30pm, the job as promised was completed. The supervisor of the job met me and explained everything to me and answered the questions i had about the old roof and what they found. Express Roofing says they will do the job in one day and they do keep their promise. I should mention they did a great job cleaning up. I haven't found a stray nail yet!! '

Showed up at 7 and they were gone by 2. I have plantings near the house and they were barely disturbed. All the refuse was removed. Only found 3 nails after walking the job several times. Was home so I could verify that the job was done exactly as we agreed. Happy with roofing the result. I rated a C on responsiveness for an item that was never fulfilled. I had asked if I could buy two bundles of shingles from the same lot in case I had shingle damage down the road. I have seen too many repairs that have totally mismatched colors. They look terrible. HISTORY: 1) I wrote the extra shingle request on my contract acceptance 8/24, 2) exchanged emails with the owner (Mike) before the job was done (agreed to $100 for the two bundles) 8/26, 3) mentioned it to the crew leader the day of the job 9/5, 4) mentioned it after the job had been completed and was told the job was completed (I was told they were shorted on the job by the supplier and would get the shingles to me 9/5, 5) mentioned it to the job supervisor that came to return my bank check on 9/9 (Bank misspelled Mike's last name from the typed instructions provided by Express (reissued bank check was ready for pick up on 9/10) , and 6) emailed Mike on 9/22 after still communication or no shingles being provided and stated "At this point it is getting less likely that either the shingles will ever be provided (as written as a note on the quote acceptance) or that the same lot will be available. This is probably a small item to you but it isn't to me. It's customer service. Can I expect receipt of the shingles or do I have to head off to a few Home Depots to see if I can get a match from bundles in stock." It is now 9/30 and have not heard a word in response. If you plan to make any side arrangements Like I had, I would suggest that you tie payment for the whole job to its fulfillment. Like I said, great roofing job but now a little concerned if I need something taken care of after the sale after because of being ignored for the past 20 days since my last request.

They arrived on time early in the morning and removed the old roofing. It was discovered that many of the planks that made up the roof were split, dried out, or otherwise needed replacement. They then replaced all those planks. That actually took a good amount of time. Finally in the afternoon they laid down the new roof with all the appropriate stuff under the shingles. At that time there was a crew of about 15 people. It was finished just before dusk. The cleanup of the old roof and stuff from doing the new roof was excellent. The result is beautiful.

We are still corresponding, and hope to get our estimate soon.

Job was well done Clean was spectacular have only found 5 nails and its been almost a year since they were here. Price was reasonable considering the did 3 roof and the sheathing on the main house
