+ -1 moreHe rarely answers his phone, never calls back, never sticks to his own timelines, his store lights are on with a lit Open sign, door locked, won't make appointments, won't commit to be in his shop at any given time. Ordered RAM over 3 months age (he said it would be a week), waiting over 3 months for 2 old monitors, never recovered hard drive data, had to have the motherboard replaced a second time. Asked for a large RAM quote for my school 2 months ago, never got back to me.

+ -1 moreInitially he fixed the problems I was having, and installed a router so I could access the internet. A little later I started having problems printing so I tried call him back to work on that. I called him several times and even made an appointment, that he never actually showed up for. I called him again and he ended up coming over the next day when he told me he was tied up the day before, but he never called me to let me know, otherwise that would have been fine. He fixed my printer, or so I thought. Very soon afterwards it stopped working again and still never called me back after numerous calls on my part. I ended up calling someone else who found the issue very quickly and fixed it. The most irking thing is that you can leave messages for him, but he never checks his messages to return them.
Description of Work: I called him to fix some issues on my computer.

+ -1 moreThere's no real story here, because Jim will donate 2 minutes of phone time to help out whenever I call. I've suggested he bill me for the times he's helped over the phone, but he waves the suggestion away. As a result, I've suggested he run me a tab. I've recommended him to many people in the area. I felt lucky finding someone by long distance and having everything work out since then. No complaints.
Description of Work: Before we moved from Arkansas four years ago to Western MA I wanted to set up an appointment with someone to be with us on the second day in our new home to hook up a wireless network.Arbitrarily, I found Network and IT Solutions on line. Owner Jim Ruel has been our computer guy ever since. He's given good recommendations for upgrades, problem solved when needed, rescued data when husband's laptop died suddenly, and sometimes can walk you through an easy fix by phone. He's responsible and his prices are reasonable. Very happy with his work. Most recently we called, described the problem after a bad thunderstorm, and he diagnosed a fried router. Husband went out to buy the router, and we installed it. Indeed, it was the router, we're back on line, and all from a simple phone call. My husband's business depends on having access. Previously, I'd called Comcast but they only deal with modems. Apparently we are on our own with routers....so I feel very fortunate to have Jim to call. .
