Description of Work: My move was a short distance, only 2 miles from house to house. It was a pleasure to have such a good experience with a local mover because my last move ten years ago resulted in my furniture being held for ransom. Empire did exactly what they proposed. They sized the truck correctly for one trip, packed everything well, finished same day, credited the unused boxes, and moved my piano safely. In advance they supplied me with several complimentary wardrob boxes that I was allowed to keep several days post moving. The per hour pricing included 3 men and the truck, and no tricks added at the finish. I would use their services again and I reccomend them to all of you.

Description of Work: I hired Roman to move my furniture and boxes into a storage unit since the new home that I was building would not be ready for 5-6 months.

Description of Work: Was under the gun to empty our old house of all of the furniture in one weeks time. Found Empire Movers through Angie's List and was very pleased with their performance. We have just bought a new house in East Longmeaodw and had to move furniture from our old house in Springfield. Had a deadline of a week to be moved out of our existing house and was pretty overwhelmed with everything that had to be moved. We were very pleased that Roman Koval, Empire's owner, was able to schedule his crew to come to my house within a few days of contacting them. They came this past Saturday morning. They showed up promptly at 9:00AM and were very deliberate in their work habits. Emptying the house of furniture that was to be moved in two hours. Once at the new house, I was very pleased with their careful handling of our possessions as they took great care to avoid banging walls and furniture. Was especially impressed with their care when they had to move a very heavy bedroom set up a spiral staircase into a very snug room. They made sure to guide the furniture carefully to avoid banging on the wooden stair railings. My wife had been concerned because we had just had all of the carpets at the new house, deep cleaned and shampooed prior to moving in. When I told Roman and his workers they instructed me that they used carpet runners that protected the carpet from any stains from their work boots. They were very meticulous in their work. I also had a garage full of boxes that had already been brought over to the new house but which had to be moved downstairs into the basement. When I initially told Roman when we arrived at the new house with the furniture that I wanted their help in moving the boxes in the garage down into the basement, he initially told me that he didn't think they would have the time to do so as they had another move scheduled right after mine. Roman told me; "Let's see how quickly it will take us to unload the furniture and set it up. If we do it quick enough, we might be able to help you move those boxes into the basement. After Roman and his crew had finished setting up the furniture in the house, they came into the garage and moved about two thirds of the boxes I had in storage there down to the basement. Despite having another job, Roman and his crew stayed an extra half hour to help move the boxes to storage. I was very pleased with their work and would definitely use Empire Movers again.

Description of Work: They moved a large desk, treadmill, couch, washer and dryer, television, a server and a dining room table for me from a 2nd and 3rd floor apartment (no elevator) into a house.

Description of Work: Moved a household from Greenfield, MA to Bar Harbor, ME. Move included many boxes, furniture, piano, etc.

Description of Work: These guys are great. They moved 11 rooms of collectables using 2 trucks and 3 or 4 men 250 miles from Saranac NY to Holyoke. Took one day to load and drive and 5 hours to unload the next day. Everything was done by professional, healthy, muscular, energetic, careful, polite men. I could not have asked for more. Nothing was damaged and there was never a complaint or grumble. I would recommend Roman and his team to my grandmother or anyone else. They were great. Give them a call.

Set up and placed furniture, boxes and un-boxed items anywhere we requested they be placed. Also moved furniture when I changed my mind and gave suggestions as to optimal placement.

Description of Work: Empire did a great job of moving a load of furniture to a storage unit, and then moving a piano and another HUGE piece of furniture for us, with no muss or fuss or drama. They were great. We will definitely use them again. Real pros!

Description of Work: Roman came by the house to do a walk-through and give an estimate approximately a week and a half before the moving date. It took about a half hour total. He made notes about specific concerns and gave the place a thorough look before giving me the estimate. On moving day, Roman and two other men arrived on time and after giving everything a quick look-over, decided on a plan of action and began moving stuff within about 20 minutes of arrival. All three men were very careful with our things. They were also very safe in the way they carried, lifted & moved. At the destination, they quickly moved everything in and put beds together and placed air conditioners in the rooms where I indicated. They probably would have put them in the windows if they'd been able to get to the windows. They were just awesome!

Description of Work: Roman and his crew moved four rooms' worth of furniture and items from my mother's home in one town to an assisted living facility four towns away.

Description of Work: We needed movers to move an entire household from one rented home to another. The distance between the houses was about 15 miles. All smaller items would be boxed by us, with furniture, televisions, and the like wrapped by the movers. Empire provided two trucks for the job, plus all associated gear. The trucks and gear were in great condition, clean, and efficiently kept. We were to have four movers for the job, however, we only had three for part of the move due to an illness. A fourth mover joined the crew for the afternoon. We were told that the move would take between six and seven hours. It took ten. This was due in part to being a mover short for half of the day and the staircase/basement configuration in both homes, making the move a more difficult one. While we were charged for the extra time, it was not at the company's full rate and I think the final amount was a fair one based on the amount of work done. Also, the owner was very apologetic about being a man down and these guys really hussled to make up for it. I was impressed by their work ethic. Also, in our older home, they took apart beds and desk, then reassembled them at our new home. This was a welcome service.

Description of Work: Empire Movers moved the larger furniture pieces from our home in CT to our new home in MA. Three bedrooms, family room, dining room, living room, dinette, basement and garage shelves and a lawn tractor and trailer. We had moved all of the boxes ourselves.

The items included a China cabinet, large two piece sectional couch, dining table with 6 chairs, several desks, skis, antique dresser, a 15 foot sailboat with a 22 foot mast and a number of other items. I had them move several items in my house including a large couch and large entertainment center.
