Mastodon Moving

Description of Work: I bought an Angie's List 'Big Deal' to move from a house in wakefield to an apartment in Cambridge. | |Was not impressed with most of the experience. Scheduled a month in advance, but then close to the date was asked to change from weekend to the following monday so the movers could have father's day off. While that is an understandable request, but should have been addressed when making the original appointment. They did work on the originally scheduled day, so it wasn't a big deal, and I likely wouldn't have mentioned it if the rest of the experience was better. Communication via email was slow, I had to send multiple requests a couple of times, and had to follow-up with phone call to finally confirm the schedule. | |The movers were very nice, but not terribly fast or efficient. There were a number of minor issues (scrapped walls in the new apartment, a sewing table that had it's contents dumped somewhere during the move). | |The initial estimate provided (granted, this was from a verbal description of the contents of my house, so there's a fair bit of slack allowed there) was pretty far off the final tally. Some of that was due to an additional stop I added after the quote, but timing-wise that accounted for only a small part of the difference. | |I will not be using this company the next time I move.

Description of Work: moved my upright piano- they were going to try to find a home for it, planned to try to find a school,etc. - I was pleased that we were able o make this arraNGEmentfor it to be donated- they were courteous and professional- neglected to put some items they had to move back in their original places-

Description of Work: They moved furniture and belongings from a second floor apartment across the street to a first floor apartment. No problems. One of the movers put the a/c in the window, too.

Description of Work: Very friendly people to deal with. Also, they will do a good job and their price is right. However, punctuality is not their strong point. You will |most likely do a lot of waiting around for them.

Description of Work: They moved our belongings from our home to our new living space. The men were friendly but very professional. They were careful with our belongings and were clearly good with special relationships. | |The only complaint I had was that we were scheduled for 8AM and JJ called me the night before to ask if he could come later because some other customer insisted on having my time slot. They came at noon which was later than I would have liked. However, JJ did put 4 men on the job instead of 2 so that probably helped make up some of the time.

Description of Work: They called me when they were running ~10 min late, arrived in the window that they mentioned on the phone. They quickly moved my things into the truck and met me at the drop-off location. They were largely positive and talkative during the move. They did have one item that was accidentally not removed from the truck, but immediately returned to drop it off when I called them (luckily I had their cell phone number from when they called earlier). | |Overall 99.9% positive experience, and the professionalism of the movers more than made up for the slight hiccups. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: JJ and his partner Alan came to the house on time. They did everything we requested at the reasonable time frame, including install the beds. Great job!

Description of Work: We used Mastodon Moving services about three weeks ago when we moved.

Description of Work: In an effort to close 2 office buildings we needed a company with attention to detail and white glove treatment. What we found was Mastodon Moving which responded to our request within 24hours. We had a representative come to visit the offices within 2 days and the quote was reasonable. When the dar for the move came close, I was impressed with a few specific things. 1. they called the night before just ot confirm and see if anything changed (of course some things did), then the day of the move- they were there an hour early as not to "get stuck" in traffic. the speed and care at which Mastodon employees worked was impressive as was thier demeanor. When the move was near completion I noticed thier workers sweeping the floors, and washing the elevator walls, something no one else does. After being in business for 10 years, this is the first moving company that I have worked with that "gets it". No brianer if you are moving, need things moved within a building and/or looking for a mover to provide a solution rather than a canned quote. I would recommend Mastodon for anyone, that needs it done right, within a timeframe and within a budget.
