CLAY BORGLUND ROOFING

Clay (Borglund) replaced the roof a dozen or more years ago on my former home in Central MA, and we were very pleased with his work at that time. We therefore knew that he had a strong reputation and was trustworthy. When we needed a roofer for this new "old" house we sought multiple estimates. Glad we did, because there was an almost $5,000 difference between low and high bids. Some site visits were very slick, with videos, testimonials and drones. Clay was old school. Solid. Basics. Hand shakes. Working during one of the coldest Januaries in memory was challenging enough. But the house had been neglected. Clay found FIVE layers of roofing material that needed to be stripped! The job took longer than expected due to the cold, some illness among the crew, some needed patching, and the extra layers of shingles. But it got done professionally, all nice and tight, permitted and with a "pass" upon inspection. Cost, even with some minor add-ons, was very fair, and I know that Clay will be there should there be any issues down the road.

Clay's team performed excellent work! Clay was very responsive and was able to wiggle his schedule to accommodate some other work we were unexpectedly having done, which would have interfered with his roofing work. His estimate was spot on, and all work was performed quickly, professionally, and as unobtrusively as was possible! His team cleaned up each night after their work. I cannot say enough about how satisfied we were with his work! I would absolutely hire him again without hesitation!

Clay was referred to me by my realtor to replace my aging roof. We actually communicated entirely through email from start to finish, which was nice, but I would have liked to have met in person and been able to shake his hand because he did such a great job on the house. Clay initially gave me a time and expense estimate, both of which turned out to be dead on. He was very good about communicating throughout the process, and when an issue with the fascia on the house came up as part of other work that was done, he was happy to add that repair to the work order. The only way I think the experience could have improved would be in the billing department. I did love that all communication was email-based, but would have definitely liked to have a paper invoice for the work, rather than just leaving a check at the site at the end. But he did come pick it up versus me having to deliver it to him, so that was very appreciated. Also there was a little bit of soot left around the work site which was a minor inconvenience; I don't deduct any points for that, just a nice-to-have item. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely do business with him again.
