Description of Work: Refinished 2 bedroom floors, living room floor, closets. Alex did a great job at a great price. I can't believe they are the same floors that were there, they look brand new. They even moved some things that I did have not time to remove before they started. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Description of Work: As I filled out the Contractor Contact Log, I did not check either of the "Would you use this provider in the future?" buttons, because the one I want isn't there. If there was a "Depends" button, I'd have checked that. I hired Alex because his was the lowest bid, he got generally good reviews here at Angie's List, and he told me he could get the job done by when I wanted it done by. He was supposed to start on a Tuesday and finish Wednesday; we were arriving Thursday. There were three BRs in which we wanted hardwood flooring installed. We'd already bought the flooring AND the vapor paper and made the floors ready for the laying of it (removed all carpeting, staples, even the baseboards). Also, there was no furniture to be moved as there was virtually none in the house yet save a folding table and chairs in the great room which we were using to eat at and work on when we were there. Well the job didn't get started until Wednesday; Alex called me around 10:00 that day with a question, mentioning that they had finished all the prep. I didn't know what he meant by that since WE had done everything but put down the paper and flooring ourselves, but I didn't question him on that. His thick accent often made understanding him difficult, so I just asked him why they didn't get started the day before as promised, and he gave what sounded like a lame excuse: his van had broken down. I found myself thinking that the reviewer here who wrote that he has a problem with punctuality was right. When we arrived Thursday afternoon, his crew was still working, and didn't finish and get out of here until around 6:30 that evening. They did do good work, and we are pleased with how the floors turned out. However, I did not appreciate the way they made our place their own. They helped themselves to bottled water in my fridge. They ate their lunches at the folding table and left their mess all over it when they went back to work so I had to clean it up when I arrived. They took an empty U-Haul box which I bought and had been using to transfer items between our two homes and used it as a garbage can, making it unusable for future packing. They went upstairs where they had absolutely no business being and did God-knows what (we suspect watch TV because that's the only item that was upstairs) - and we KNOW someone went up there because one of the now-empty hardwood flooring boxes was found on the floor up there. And last but not least, after I had emailed Alex and specifically asked him to make sure that if they opened the sliders in the BRs the screen doors would be used because I didn't want bugs in my home, we came home to two sets of sliders and their screen doors wide open. The excuse was that their sawing equipment was out there and they needed to go back and forth and work with it - but what if there hadn't been a deck off those two BRs? They would have found another way to get their work done hopefully without leaving my home wide open to vermin. I would hire Alex again ONLY if timeliness was not an issue, and ONLY if I were going to be on-site while the job was being done - which is unfortunate, because we have another flooring job to be done while we are away, and his crew did do good work for a reasonable charge, but I wouldn't trust them with free run of my home again.

Description of Work: Refinished three rooms plus hallway. Rooms look fantastic. In fact they removed a burn mark that was about a foot wide in the living room plus deep scratches in the bedroom the last refinisher was unable to remove.

Description of Work: Refinished all downstairs wood floors . Excellent , job and Price , Cleanup and punctuality needs some work but overall great pricing and excellent finish on Floors.
