Dave and his team were extremely professional, attentive to detail, friendly, and responsive to our needs. Our deck is a thing of BEAUTY! Our neighbors and guests have all given it highest praise. It has almost doubled our living space. We would hire Dave and his team again in a heartbeat.

Our remodel began promptly on the projected start date. Dan, our main man, was very professional, amiable and highly skilled at his trade. He even offered some suggestions which were appreciated. We interviewed no less than six companies to do over our bathroom and selected Dave, not because of cost, but because of his professionalism and willingness to listen to what we wanted done. He offered solutions to the problems we wanted resolved and they all worked out to our satisfaction. The cost plus margin contract was a great option. He provided detailed time sheets for the employees and itemized invoices for materials. Yes, I went over everything in great detail and found all the documentation to be accurate. Any questions I had, he was able to answer to my satisfaction. I do need to make clear that the materials Dave provided were mostly construction related for about $665.00. The rest of the cost was all for labor. I purchased separately, the vanity, faucet, towel bars, quartz counter top, upper cabinets, lighting, flooring, crown, baseboard, door and window trim, two doors with hardware and some of the paint. I also contracted separately with Jim at Bathcrafters to install the bathtub and wall surrounds. Dave and Jim have worked together on numerous projects and efficiently coordinated their work so we would not be without a shower for more than a two days.

These guys are easy to work with. Very professional and high quality work. Will use them for any new construction or remodeling.

Both the work and the costs came in as estimated. There was some rework required due to the age of our home and shoddy work that was previously done by former owner that was uncovered once the work was started. They worked this into the price. The end result met or exceeded our expectation. Dave and his staff were very professional. They addressed issues or concerns immediately with Dave coming on the job site several times a week to inspect progress and give us a status. The one thing above all others for me was that the folks from Home and Hearth treated the job like they were doing it for their own home. We have more work we are planning and the Dave will be offered the work.

The work done is very nice. The problem I have is with the estimates and actual cost. When we received the estimates the plumbing portion of the estimates were high so Dave found another plumber and the numbers were better. We decided to go forward with the work. Everything was going good for the first bathroom. Dave told us we were on schedule with the estimate, when we got the final invoice for the bathroom he was quite a bit over the original estimate even after discounts the amount was still quite a bit over the original estimate. When they started the second bathroom I asked Dave about being over the estimate and he said it would be closer to the estimate because he knew what he was getting into, then when we got the final invoice for the second bathroom he was still over before the discounts, after the discounts he was still quite a bit over the original estimate. I understand the house is very old and can understand going over on one bathroom, but the second one I think should have been closer. We were not told that it was running over until we received the final invoices. The people he has working for him are professional and do a good job.

I am answering on behalf of the Board of Managers at Ashely Hills Condos so am not the homeowner who had windows replaced. However, I was informed that the job was done quickly, professionally and they cleaned up everything.

Dave came out, we talked for a hour about remodeling my kitchen. He was very professional, and was very knowledgeable. I told him I would like a quote for the kitchen cabinets, and a new floor installed. He told me he would have a estimate in a few days, it's been two weeks. I called after 7 days, and gave me some excuse about him having to fire someone, and he would have it to my bye the end of the week. I don't want to hear excuse, or how you had to fire someone, that's not professional. If u can't handle giving a simple quote, I don't think u can handle a job of this magnitude. Don't waste your time people.

The overall project went very well. Two to three days to remove decking, chip out and cut metal lally columns from exiting concrete patio beneath existing deck. About 4-5 days to install new deck, railings and stairs. Finishing touches outstanding. Workmen very professional and courteous. We had 3 contractor quotes and H & H Remod was the middle quote. We chose H & H because we had them remodel a bathroom in the lower level of our raised ranch in the past and were very pleased with the results of that project. So even though they were not the low bidder on the project we chose them because we were familiar with their craftsmanship first hand.

Home and Hearth was a pleasure to work with. In addition to making valuable recommendations on the best way to perform the needed repairs, they were punctual, thorough, and very professional. I also wholly appreciated the transparency they employed- not only were we given an itemized invoice for the work, we were also provided with detailed time sheets for the men who came onsite, as well as receipts for materials purchased, for our records.

We could not be happier with the service we received, the professionalism of the craftsmen, the attention to detail and perfectionism that was brought to this job. It is perfect. Even when we had the space measured for a shower door, the installer expressed surprise at how level all the surfaces are, especially given the nature of the space and the project. The craftsman kept the space organized, cleaned up every day, and vacuumed thoroughly when closing up for the weekend. They applied plastic covering over the carpeting that stayed in place for the entire job. At the end of the project, the bathroom was left clean. All the spare tiles were tucked away in a corner, neatly organized. Like all other aspects of their work, the attention to detail in cleaning was impressive. The job took longer than it was estimated to, but we knew going into the project that there might be some surprises once the old unit was ripped out. The major cause for extra time was the amount of effort it took to get the walls "plumb" and all the cuts to get the subway tiles and cut-out niche lined up. The potential for "overruns" was built into the estimate; so the additional costs were not a big surprise.

They did a great job and saved me a lot of money.

Dave offered lots of ideas, has a passion for fixing things and doing it RIGHT! Very responsive, timely and TIDY! We have found our "go to" guys for house repairs and restores. Also was cognizant of the fact that we couldn't have the luxury version!

As it turned out, due to David's fine suggestions, we ended up buying, on sale, a ready made shed that was delivered and installed for us. Had it not been for David's helpfulness, we would not have known which was the best way to go for our paritcular predicament.

He is currently working on a project with us right now. So far, the work has been good. He is very good with building codes and what is right and what isn’t. I like how he does not try to take any short cuts and he tries to do things the best way he possibly can.

They did a very good job! I had a lot of work done. They replaced my subfloor because the people who installed the floor originally did not not install it correctly. They arrived on time everyday, but it did take a long time to get my work scheduled. They did do an excellent job with the work and even cleaned up after themselves.

Will write an overall evaluation of work performed when the job is complete 12/11/12 The overall installation despite the additional cost went extremely well. I cannot complain about the extra "hidden" cost that involved the drain in the concrete floor. Anyone who undertakes a home improvement knows there are some unknown costs involved that are not anticipated at construction inception. I feel Dave detailed the anomaly very well and provided a reasonable final cost to fix the problem. Over the 12 days of construction Dave's "crew" was very polite and punctual. The professionalism displayed was complimentary to my overall experience with Home and Hearth. Bottom line is I would gladly recommend Home & Hearth and will use them again in the spring (2013) for a deck overhaul I am planning. Good work, very professional and reasonable cost.

I have been very impressed with Dave, I have used him on several projects at my home and business. I highly recommend Dave for any project you may have.

I liked them very much, they did a nice job and their workmanship was outstanding. I would highly recommend them because they were very good. I have very small kids in the house and their employees were very nice to have in the house and were very friendly and good with the kids, so they were good people.

They do excellent work. I like everything, they are the greatest.
