Dependable Home Repair

I picked Kevin to do come carpentry because he is nice guy, has decent ratings, and to support a local business. Kevin replaced rotten wood on a porch and repaired front and back stairs and some railing. He also installed a screen door for the bulkhead and, later, basement windows. The first job had some mistakes, namely, a plank of wood on the front porch keeps popping up, there is a open space in one of the risers on the back steps, and the back latch was not installed properly. The main problem is that when he put in one of the windows he left a gaping hole where there used to be masonry. I texted him twice asking him to return to repair that damage, but he ignored me both times. He got my money and so was no longer interested in doing a good job. My impression is that he is too busy with bigger jobs to me worried about craftsmanship and customer relations. I am disappointed at Kevin's lack of commitment to quality work that leaves the customer with a job well done.

Kevin has always been very professional and polite. Everything is tidy afterwards. He does exactly what he said he would and at the price that he quoted. He broke down the cost for materials and labor for us. The deck turned out great!
