I am so pleased with results of the project. I read the earlier review and can say that I did not experience any of those issues mentioned. Karen was the utmost professional and worked closely with me to create the space that I wanted. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to family and friends.
Description of Work: I hired Anderson Jones Redesign to create an outdoor space in my backyard. My yard is small and contains a very steep hill. AJRedesign created a beautiful outdoor space for me using much of the elements from my yard including a orignal designed waterfall. The waterfall was created by AJRedesign using rocks found in my backyard. Karen worked tirelessly to create a lovely setting. It is as if I have a whole addition to my home. Karen is immensely creative and doesn't mind getting her hands dirty!

This 5 x 8 bathroom was rotting and needed demolition. The builder did an expert job in reframing, putting up sheetrock to fit many angles, and tiling of floor and bath surround, although made one very obvious mistake with two small accent tiles out of alignment - unfortunately right in front of my view when facing the shower. The builder also made a vanity to fit the small space but unfortunately made the vanity about 3 inches too long (left no room for even a small wastebasket) and 4 inches higher than a typical adult vanity. My daughter wouldn't be able to reach in. So had to cut some height off. Karen's quote @$15,000 for a 5 x 8 bathroom was $2,000 higher than other quotes, but it included a linen closet, and I needed her reported design expertise to deal with the small space/no storage, so I chose her. I wanted to work with a woman, too. As we began work, she was generally helpful. We did visit the Design Center to see baths and tiles once but the bath company she expected to see wasn't there, or closed. As the project began in earnest, turns out I underestimated how long it would take for me to pick everything, and she significantly underestimated labor and cost of bathroom fixtures, how long it would take for her builder to work, was stressed out over how long the project took, and the slow speed in which I was making decisions; she berated me in numerous emails, left angry voice messages and shouted at me over the phone - all during the busiest, most stressful time in my life and annual work cycle. I apologized many times, but that wasn't good enough, of course. I had lots of other paid jobs to do around the house, while they waited for me to act on certain items, but they didnt' want to work on those in the interim. In retrospect, It was bad timing for me to start this project, and bad timing all around. She blamed me for everything, all the delays, although the builder worked slowly. Mainly because he's very careful and doesn;t rush anything. After two months, he still hadn't built the vanity, medicine cabinet or linen closet. I will note here that the builder put trim around the bathroom expertly, but didn't match the trim in the rest of the house. So in the bath, the wood has all sharp/square edges. In the rest of the house, all trim has rounded edges (baseboard, window trim and door trim). Karen criticized me for asking questions about materials (eg, what's the difference between cabinet grade plywood and solid maple), telling me that I was second-guessing everything (hey, it's my home and my investment), told me to leave it to her to make certain decisions, then I find out she's ordered a shower trim I would never choose and was so out of synch with the look of the home, a batch of floor tile which turned out to be defective, wouldn't return and reorder and we 'made do with it' (it DOES look good, tho' not as expected), she ordered the wrong sized/too big sink, not allowing for the space for a faucet and handles, and allowed me to choose one design for the lav faucet by Kohler, without telling me that I was supposed to buy Symmons if I wanted the sink to match what goes with the Symmons valve she had bought. She approved the custom vanity dimensions which turned out to be enormous for a tiny bath. And she wanted the final payment before the job was done. When I agreed but only if she gave me the original receipts to items that are warranteed, left the names and #s of the electrician and plumber, and when I said I'd withhold $500 while waiting for an estimate to repair the hardwood floor and stairs that the builders damaged, she flew into a fury, the builder entered my home w/my key but unauthorized, and had him pull the vanity out of the wall while I was at work, and ...took the vanity home but left the $3,000 balance behind. I came home to a missing vanity, holes all over the walls, and no explanation. The builder had previously cut a hole in the wall for a medicine cabinet he was going to make himself, a 'custom' size that no premade cabinet will fit. She wouldn't let him finish. I'm stuck with a giant hole in the wall, a hole and lighting fixtures that are off-center, and I'm out of a vanity, a medicine cabinet and a linen closet. No, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. She may be good with picking pillow colors and accent pieces, but as a remodeler, no.
