Overall, Joe seemed honest and knowledgable. He could have told me I needed new plywood at $35 per sheet, but did not. He did a nice job on windows at my brother's house, and price for new roof was good, so went forward. Their clean up process could have been been better; for the next several weeks I found bits of tar paper and shingle material and roofing nails around the yard, and nails on my driveway. Lesson learned: Be sure to monitor clean up before you pay. Oh, yes, let me not forget to mention my contract . First item on the contract is to this effect: re: Contractor will obtain any permits required for this jobI I am new to this community, so that was a relief. Start day of project, he showed up promptly with his crew, he explained the process and timeline. I asked if he had the building permit, 3 different ways at several different times. Said yeah, papers in the process, , sure, it's in my truck, etc, danced around the subject. Two hours later, my community manager showed up, asked for the permit, said they communicate with building department regularly, and I had no permit. She shut down work immediately... Mid Friday, with a storm coming in and my roof was stripped. Long story short, he didnt bother to get the $75. permit, thought he could cut corners. Lied to my face several times, thinking he'd get away with it. He had to do some sweating to get papers signed, but got it done and finished my roof that day. In these tough times, I figured he got his due. I even thought about skipping this part, but you be the judge. I didnt need the stress or embarassment. He was stupid to try skipping it. Maybe I wouldn't use him again. All in all, price was good, work was good and the job got done. No leaks. He destroyed his credibility with me big time. Too bad, now I'm doing replacement windows, but didn't call him.
Description of Work: Removed old asphalt shingle roofing (one layer), examined condition of plywood and replaced shingles, sealed around sky lights.

They came out to do the work in February of 2007 to do the windows. When winter started coming, they started leaking. Window representative came out, he told us that the windows didn't have the insulation or ice/water deflector around them. The windows were fine. The shingles need to come up and have these put below it. The lights are sinking in. The owner met with the window rep, and watched it drip. Sent sub-contractors out, one started to caulk the window. Owner promised to come out and fix it. They were supposed to come out this Monday, owner canceled because of a sick worker. 3 days in a row it has been canceled. Me and my husband have called many times. We love the windows, just want them fixed.
Description of Work: We hired them to replace 3 skylights. 15 windows total.
