Description of Work: The workmen were to arrive at 10:30am, they called and said they were having truck problems and would be late. They arrived around 3 pm and the foreman seemed to be in a big hurry. They removed my old countertop and the head guy stated that my cabinets were not very strong and did I have some two by fours. Luckily I had a few pieces in my shed that he used as braces for the back of the new counter. He also wanted 3 inch sheetrock screws which I also provided.I would have thought that a professional installer would have his own lumber and screws . He told me that the front of the counter needed more support. I told him that I could do it if given the time. Her said no and I could brace it after the installation. It would have taken me 15 or 20 minutes to do the job while the countertop was not in place. I did the job after they left with a lot of struggle from underneath. The countertop looks good but the workmanship was lousy. They used shims between the cabinet and counter not bothering to cut them flush and then throwing the scraps and other debris on my on my newly refinished floor, not bothering to pick them up when they left.. They also put a large indentation in my new floor that I had just had refinished two days prior. They must have dropped the countertop on it. They tossed scrap waste in my drawers and left them. I paid them cash, half when they came to measure and the balance at completion. When they were through the foreman charged me an extra $100 dollars which was not explained. Maybe for using my own materials.
