This is without a doubt the worst experience I have had with a professional I have ever had. I blame myself in some respect because I went with the lowest bid...but I have been paying for it ever since. He writes a bid for a 96% 45,00 btu 2 stage furnace w/ECM motor and says though this model is $600 more expensive it has a $600 rebate so it's best to go with the better model. Sounded lodgical to me so I went with it. In an email prior to the work beginning, I try to confirm that the plumber and electric is included and he has these workers. He never responded to me. I should have had a clue at that point, but I was trusting because he presented like such a nice guy. He comes to my house to get the deposit and have me sign the contract. I saved for a year for this system so I was rather excited to have this work done so I sign. It wasn't until after he left that I see two little sentaces in the middle of the contract that "Customer will provide own plumber" and electrician. I freak out and try to call him and send him a text because I don't have a plumber or electrician. He finally gets back to me and tells me not to worry cause he works with two guys. I ask how much would these services be and he states the plumber would only be around $150 and he wasn't sure about he electrician but will get back to me......He never did. I tried to get this info and he would skirt the subject. Since I'm still trusting him (A large mistake) I'm thinking that I'm getting a $600 rebate so I would be able to pay the electrician. from that. Work day comes and it was then that he tells me that the Electrician will probably be around $600. Okay...so work begins and was due to be finished in two days. On the 3rd day, the electrician begins his work and I casually ask about his fee. It was then he tells me between $800-$1000. Gulp! Work finishes and he was suppose to leave the rebate info but said he needed some other info and will bring it by. 10 days later, I try to register my new Furnace, condenser and coil with the manufacturer and come to find out that the furnace he installed was a 95% Single stage unit without the EMC motor. He comes to my house to drop off the rebate info and tries to say that this didn't have a $600 rebate but $300. In reality, there is no rebate to this unit he installed. He admits to knowingly installing the wrong furnace and feels "ashamed". I tell him that I want him to pay the plumber (Who, by the way, sent me an invoice for $455) and the electrician ($1000). He agrees but calls me later and says the only way he can fix the problem is to switch out the unit with the one that I paid for....the one on my original invoice. Long story short...the Model on my invoice doesn't exist and there is no such thing as a 96% 45,000 BTU 2 stage w/ECM motor furnace. Of course, I don't find this out until he hands me the paperwork for a 60,000 BTU model when he came to switch out the units. He installed it and left in 3 hours. This was suppose to be very quiet but this one vibrates and doesn't switch into the lower stage.....that's because he doesn't install a two stage thermostat and it's not wired to go into two stages. I consulted with another HVAC guy who says it sounds like the unit isn't balanced or wired correctly. I emailed this guy and he remains silent. I've called the manufacturer out of concern that my equipment is not installed correctly and under warranty. They are trying to help me but can't make any promises. I'll be call the attorney general as well as the better business bureau.

I purchased central air from Wayne Begonis of Air Care Technologies. I thought Wayne was a great guy and even though we had a number of issues with the system, I still relied on Wayne. First year, the upstairs ductwork began leaking and when Wayne serviced the units he said he did not think that the leaking was from the ducts (odd since it was right below the ducts and we had the roof checked and it was fine). Sadly, seven years later and the ducts are not only continuing leaking, but we have been told that it needs to be REPLACED. One year, I called Wayne over and over and left messages regarding annual service. After weeks, I gave up and called another company. Wayne later called and said he was away (why he didn't pick up his messages, I don't know), but I let him return the following year when he called. The last time I had Wayne service the units for $220, the upstairs unit stopped working just 3 weeks later. I called another person who lives near by (I could not get Wayne) and the other company came quickly and serviced the unit - again. The new guy told me the lines were clogged and could not have been cleaned recently. Still, I liked Wayne personally, but the company down the street was more responsive and professional in their service delivery, so I continued to used them. Year after year, the leaking gets worse. Now, seven years later I find that I did not get what I thought I was getting either! I asked for American Standard as I had down some homework and I got Ameristar units - the budget units. One of them needs replacement after only seven years. I pulled out the purchase orders and Wayne had written A.S. units which obfuscates that he was installing the budget version Ameristar. Anyway, I called Wayne to ask him about this and to see if he could look at the unit which is failing. He said sure, we chatted and I wished him a happy b-day. He said call the next day to schedule a time. He did not. A subsequent phone call when unanswered. Please use another service for Central Air - a bigger more reputable company even if you have to pay a bit more. Wayne may be a "nice guy", but his skills appear deficient, in installation, service and in customer service. This is too big and expense to get wrong.
