In spite of having plants planted by a professional landscaping service and giving them appropriate care, one group of perennials (5 of the 8 we bought) while appearing healthy during the growing season did not re-appear this spring. We called Russell and described what had happened. The manager we spoke to refused to accept any responsibiltiy for the failure of these plants. We understand that not every plant will survive, but given that the whole group did not, we expected the company would at a minimum offer us a credit toward future purchases. This is a very poor way to build customer loyalty, and terrible customer service.

I am always satisfied with their product.

In this time of year, I go there not as frequently, but I go there at least once a week in the spring and summer. They have a huge variety, and they have been there for a long time. They are well known. They have good service and good variety.

Have used them for years. They are polite, knowledgeable, always willing to help, have healthy plants and a good selection. Trees and shrubs guaranteed for a year. They are a bit on the expensive side but their quality and service is so high they are always the first place I go. Highly recommended.

Very poor customer service. Russell's has an enormous selection of gardening and landscape product. However, the service is not customer-friendly. I have, on numerous occasions, observed short, often harsh responses to customers and have recently experienced it myself. Shame on me for continuing to purchase from a retailer who does not care about their customers when I could shop just down the street at another garden center where the employees are extremely customer friendly. I recently approached an employee asking if they were carrying a particular type of landscaping film for growing tomatoes (knowing that in the past they had). The woman working the register asked the gentleman who was working the other register if they were carrying this product again this year. He said they were out of it. I then mentioned I probably should have bought an extra one last year (making light of his tone) and he said, yes you should have. He reluctantly said they could order it but it would take him another 3 years to get rid of it. Very harsh in his tone and in his manner. The woman at the register took my name and phone number so that when they ordered it, they could inform me as to when the product arrived. After I left, I called the store and decided at that point, I no longer needed to accept this type of crass behavior and canceled my order. I actually spoke with the woman who took my information originally and she absolutely agreed that he was not nice, and actually quite rude.
