Scott assessed our foundation issue. Turns out that it wasn't an issue, and the contractors who were quoting us $1,000-5,000 to repair it were either a) not qualified to assess the problem, or b) trying to rip us off. Berdi Consulting did a great job by saving us tons of money by basically telling us we don't actually have a problem.

They answered my question and stayed with me for subsequent questions. I'm very satisfied.

We were working on an urgent project with our chimney at the house we purchased in Somerville. We called multiple structural engineers to help, but no one was available or interested. Then Stas of Berdi Consulting contacted me back and had his partner Scott contact us within minutes to talk and schedule an onsite meeting the following day. Scott stopped by my house assed the project, took measurements, and then provided me a full overview of the work that needed to be performed. His quote was extremely reasonable and the stamped drawings were completed as committed. Scott personally drove the drawings to my house on Monday, so I would have them in time for permitting first thing that morning. Even after the delivery of the drawing and payment, he continues to help when we have questions. The city approved the drawings and our project has successfully begun and is going very smoothly. It never would of happened without him. Thanks so much for helping us make this impossible project happen! So very very grateful!!

Responded within an hour of my request. Showed up exactly on time for our appointment. The concern was for support posts in the basement which were showing rusting and moisture seeping thru the granite/brick walls. Very professional. We bought a 100-year old house, whose floors are uneven. After our GC recommended we level the house, we started exploring other options and called Stas, who recommended his partner - Scott Forrest - to look at it. Scott came to the house several times and found cheaper, less time-consuming, and more creative alternatives to leveling the house. He was extremely attentive to detail and our concerns and produced structural drawings that reflected all the changes with explanations about why they were needed and how best to be done. Scott is a great structural engineer and we highly recommend him.

His quote was extremely reasonable (half of one quote we received) and the stamped drawings were completed as committed. We had both structural engineering drawings for a foundation repair and then structural drawings for a full house renovation that we are using to communicate with contractors. We can proceed to the city plan & review with these drawings. Good job done with professional drawings based on my own hand-drawn plans. Communication required a few back and forth corrections and job was accomplished to our satisfaction. We would hire Scott again and recommend him.
