Roam Tile has an excellent range of products and a wonderful showroom. Our salesperson was Margaret Meninno. She was great. She helped us choose wall and floor tiles for the new bathroom. She showed us several options for the floor (porcelain) and wall tiles (ceramic) keeping within our budget; she made excellent suggestions of the color of grout to use for each area as well. The bathroom is beautiful.
Description of Work: We bought wall and floor tiles for the bathroom remodeling of our condo.

I used to work with Mark, who has since retired. Anna was extremely helpful in showing backsplash tiles for the kitchen, providing us with samples, and noting that the tiles which arrived were different from the tiles she had ordered, a different lot she said, and made sure we got what we wanted.

The rep was very helpful in choosing tiles appropriate for the job, including the color of grout. She let me take home samples of both the tiles and a few samples of grout colors. Because this was a small extra bathroom in basement and I was replacing the toilet and sink as well, the costs of tiles at Roma was over my budget and I knew Home Depot had similar tiles for less, though I'm sure the quality of Roma's tiles were better. If I were doing a regular bathroom in the home, I would have considered going with Roma Tile.
Description of Work: I went to look at their tiles for a small bathroom and geting assistance in choosing tiles I was considering.

We were doing the renovation of the Kitchen and bath room this summer. My contractor recommended us to contact Mark at Romatile for tiles. He gave us suggestions based on our budget first, and also showed us some tiles higher prices since I want to see them. I thought he would only give suggestions on tiles, but he actually drew pictures and desigened for us. My bathroom is very small, so I was hesitate to take his suggestions at first. But his design convince me, and it turns out to be really good. The back splash design in the kitchen he did is also very good. He also directly contact my contractor to come out a plan which meets our needs and also within the budget. There are so many tiles to choose, this supposed to be a time consuming process. But with Mark's help, suggestions on tiles and design, this process became very smooth.

While we did not find what we were looking for at Roma Tile, we did receive good service and they even helped us find another store that did offer what we wanted.
Description of Work: We went into Roma Tile looking for tile for a fireplace mantel and hearth. The selection on the showroom floor did not seem that extensive, but the staff were very attentive and courteous. Our salesman even directed us to another store where he thought we might find just what we were looking for. Overall a positive experience.

We searched several tile stores for a match of a bathroom tile from a 1934 bathroom. We were told that we had to retile the whole bathroom since you could not get the tile again. I showed it the guys at Roma and they immediately identified the manufacturer and pointed me to a very close match in the correct finish. No one else did that We also needed tile for a bath and I described the color scheme they gave us several tiles that fit right in and we purchased it after viewing in our kitchen..The thing I like was that all the displays are labelled with estimated arrival time at the store and most are 2-3 days. At other stores we would find something would like but 3 - 4 week delivery - too long for us. We were very pleased with there delivery times and selection of tiles.
Description of Work: We purchase replacement bathroom tile to match an old 1934 tile plus kitchen floor tile for a new kitchen.

Badly, see above.
Description of Work: My husband and I are in the middle of a major renovation of our kitchen and downstairs bath. The architect we are working with sent us to Roma Tile to shop for bathroom floor tiles. We went and received a quote for tile, and were assured that the company had enough in stock for our floor. Their web site listed the tile as having a 2 to 3 day delivery time. My husband spent the better part of a week trying to contact the saleswoman to give her payment information. He called and was promised that she would call back after finishing with a customer, which didn't happen. We finally had to go back to the store the following Saturday to finish the purchase, and then the day before the tile installer was due, we were told that there wasn't enough tile for the floor. Since the work had already been reshuffled - the company which is supplying the countertops was flooded in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene - this set us back even more, and we had to scramble to find another brand of tile. Installing the tile is now pushed back a week. The tile Roma promised us is imported, and the wait would have been six weeks. When we brought the paperwork to the store to make sure the refund was processed, the best the saleswoman could say was that "these things happen", and "we do inventory once a year." Maybe someone should verify the stock before making a promise, and inventory should be done more than once a year.

I went to Tile Roma as part of my shopping experience - shopping for tile for 4 full baths, 1 half bath and a mudroom. I ended up just buying the tile for the mudroom and half bath at Tile Roma simply because I found tile that I liked more for the other spaces elsewhere. Before my remodeling experience, I thought that tile was tile and that you basically found the same tile at every tile store. Not true. Basic tiles can be found pretty much everywhere, but there is a WIDE range of choices beyond that. It's worth shopping around. There is also a wide range of services provided at the different tile showrooms - everything from no service (unless you hound them for it) to full design services. Tile Roma is on the slightly higher end, offering some help with design. I didn't find the designers particularly inspiring or helpful, though, so didn't use them for this. I would have preferrred to have bought my mudroom tile from where I ended up buying other tile, and where I got great design ideas, but that store didn't have this particular tile. Once I picked the tile at Tile Roma, they told me when it would be in tock. They were spot on, and 3 days later (as promised) they called to tell me it was in. I forgot to buy grout at the same time and went back a month later. They had a record of my purchase and recommended several different grout colors. They were helpful in this selection process.
Description of Work: I purchased tile for a mudroom and small bath.

They were very courteous and prompt. They came in and completed the work in the time frames they had given me. They also had helped me choose complimenting tiles for the backsplash and floor and I am very pleased with their suggestion, they made things much easier for me. The work came out excellent and looks phenomenal!

Overall a good experience. We were able to find tile that we liked in a short amount of time. I did have to call back a couple of times one morning to finalize the order for the tile with the salesperson who had helped us. Finally, I was able to place the order with someone else.

WHEN MY INSTALLER ARRIVED (NOTE-INSTALLER WAS NOT PROVIDED OR RECOMMENDED BY ROMA TILE), THE INSTALLER REFUSED TO INSTALL THE TILE. HE SAID IT WAS UNSAFE FOR A BATHROOM FLOOR AND WOULD BE QUITE DANGEROUS. SURE ENOUGH, I PUT A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER ON THE TILE AND IT WAS AS SLIPPERY AS AN OIL SLICK. I RELIED ON THE SALESPERSON TO HELP ME CHOOSE A SAFE PRODUCT FOR MY HOME AND WAS INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR SERVICE. ROMA DID ACCEPT THE TILE FOR RETURN AND ISSUED A FULL REFUND, ALTHOUGH GRUDGINGLY. NO APOLOGIES WERE GIVEN FOR EITHER THE POOR PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION OR FOR MY INCONVENIENCE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENDOR.
