RockSolid Chimney, LLC

My house was built in 1850. The chimney was in bad shape. Bricks were coming off. The house is 3 stories tall with a steep roof. Rock Solid showed up on time on the date they said and got right to work. They also provided me with proof of insurance. 3 guys worked all day on it. They removed the old bricks and mortar down to the roof line and built a new chimney from the roof up using new brick. They then installed a top quality stainless steel cap. My chimney is only used to vent a gas water heater now. We have no fireplaces and the new furnace vents out the side of the house. They were working in 90 degree plus heat with no shade 3 stories up. Great job. The chimney came out great. Looks better than ever. Most companies I called wouldn't even get on such a high roof or they wanted all my money and my first born to do the work. Rock Solid was very reasonable, professional, fast, and they cleaned up everything before they left. This was one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor. I highly recommend them.

They came out and did two things. One I was very pleased with and the other I was less so. I would not use them again.

very good experiencing with RockSolid Chimney. He repointed some brick stairs. Quick response, there when promised, finished in one day, good clean-up and even cleaned the vinyl siding on the porch the stairs were connected to. I have already scheduled another job with them.

Wilger and Willie were friendly, professional, efficient, and very conscientious of the mess that ashes can make. They arrived at the appointed time and got right to work. Wilger answered all my curious questions about the job with a smile. They worked quickly even cleaned up ashes that I had left behind. After I burn my next cord I'll be calling Rock Solid and requesting Wilger and Willie.

Ted did a fine job. Fixed issue left by previous service man on other flu. Also provided quote for some additional repairs. We will be using him again.

They did a good job. It was way more than I had planned on. The $99 turned out to be $2300 because they did something additional. They did a good job and they were neat. I had them replace a stainless steel chimney liner. They did do a good job. They were neat. They came back because they had kind of splashed some stuff on the siding. I called to complain and they were back the next day and they cleaned it. They were good. It wasn't the owner but the foreman was exceptionally good.

Note that this is a review of the small amount of work they have done to date. If I follow up on their "big work" recommendations, and can update the review, I'll do so. I did this through a Big Deal, so the price was right, and they did what I expected them to do for the service. They came punctually and were pleasant to deal with. It's hard to judge how effectively the fireplace flue was cleaned, but they spent some time at it and they did not make a mess. As a result of their inspection they recommended grinding and pointing 20 courses of the chimney ($7,200) and installing a liner for the furnace flue ($2,600). It is obvious that the chimney could use pointing, but I wonder if it needs the major treatment they recommended. I'm not surprised that they recommended the liner, but I don't know whether it is really needed. The cell phone pictures of the interior of the flue were not clear enough to see anything. I need to get comparative assessments and quotes to know if their recommendations and prices are reasonable.

They were great. Very professional. They were upfront about work they could and could not do. They were on time and easy to work with. The price was appropriate.

Those hard working guys are the right guys to be hired by anyone who needs their chimney repaired.

They saw the stairs, described what their repair would involved, settled for the Angie's List coupon price. They came back two weeks later and completed the job. Well done.

The repair was fine but the workers were a bit messy as cement residue was left on the surrounding stairs and I will have to use muriatic acid to clean the surrounding steps that were not repaired.

Our interaction with them was great, they gave us a 1 hour window for an estimate. Turns out the tech who came out doesn't have the necessary experience to feel comfortable doing the job I needed.

RockSolid Chimney did excellent work. When they ended up not needed to do as much work as specified in their original estimate, they were flexible to negotiate a lower price. On the job they were completely professional and they did an excellent job.

Their initial estimate was way higher ($4000) and included work that was not absolutely necessary. We bargained them down significantly by agreeing to perform only the necessary repairs. They came when they promised and the work was completed as discussed. From ground level the quality looks satisfactory.

very punctual and professional. I had called them to do other masonry work. When they came they pointed out chimney work that I had never noticed (never looked up to see!). Gave me a quote for the different pieces of it. When I accepted their proposal they scheduled a date right away.

They had to work around numerous bad weather days. The repointing took one day and the waterproofing took a half day. They keep me informed about when they could start and when they needed to postpone.

They had had to postpone the work several times due to inclement weather, but every time they had to change the date, they were nice enough to let me know in advance. When they came out to give me the estimate I felt like I was treated fairly and I thought that the guys they sent out were really knowledgeable. They also gave me Angie's List discount even though I didn't explicitly ask for it. I would definitely use them again.
