I was pleased with the service and value. Both the provider and I had to postpone appointments but they were rescheduled quickly and easily. They guys came when they said they would be here and were professional.

They came on time and finished the work very professionally.

There was a lot of confusion. First, he canceled the first appointment. Then, he made another one. My wife thought it was for January 4. I happened to be home. But, he actually showed up on December 4. He came in, looked at the chimney, said everything was fine and then he recommended about $1200 worth of work for the outside of the chimney and the damper. He wanted to install a door. I wasn't too impressed. I don't think I would follow up with him as far as the repairs he recommended.

Came on time. did what they were askjed to do which was clear chimney of residue. Spent less than an hour. Cleaned up. Noproblems

The service started in mid September of last year and it poured rain, we had to pick another date because it is outside work. It was 10 days later in October and it poured rain again. We had to postpone it another 10 days later and it rained again. We had five appointments and it was the fifth one that was the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It didn't rain, he came with his right hand man and looked at the chimney. He said that he was going onto his next job and would be back. Noon came and he called the young man that was here and said that he wouldn't be able to come in the afternoon because, he had to go to the hospital. The boy worked on the chimney but, didn't have time to finish it all alone and said that he would come back Sunday morning around 10 o'clock. He came at noon and was working on the backside of the chimney. The chimney goes up thru my deck and on my roof there are two skylights around each side of the chimney. I said that he needed to put something over the skylights because, they grind out the old cement and it goes everywhere. I was 81 years old and had stained my deck, and I said that I wanted him to put a tarp down so it didn't get on the deck. He said that he would just wash it off with a hose. He proceeded to grind the cement onto my skylights and I didn't notice it until the following Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I called my handyman, he came out, and washed them. It didn't get rid of the sparkles. They hadn't done the waterproofing yet. It was very cold and they couldn't do the waterproofing. He wanted me to pay him the whole thing and he would come back. I told him that I had a contract and told him that I would pay him after the job was done. He made good on his deal and I wasn't happy about having to wait for it. I am not paying someone for something that they don't do. He wanted to finish it up in March but, it was still too cold, and we had seven feet of snow. He wasn't able to come back until June because, it took that long to get rid of the snow. The owner did agree that the boy should have covered the skylights when he came to look at them. He told me that they didn't need to be covered and I have pot marks in the glass. He charged me $1000 and gave me a coupon for something. Which, under the circumstance I thought was a lot. He did two things that he shouldn't have done and he shouldn't have left that young man here by himself without supervision. I am not a stupid woman when it comes to houses and farms. It annoyed me that he kept going 10 days out. Once we got to the week before Thanksgiving, there was a bad snow storm the day before Thanksgiving. I was miffed about asking him to put a tarp down and he kept saying that it was going to be OK. They had to wait until the following spring to spray the waterproofing on and it took 15 minutes. I think he was over priced. I thought he charged way too much especially, when he leaves a 21 year old kid here and doesn't do any of the work himself. He kept checking with me when we had to keep postponing the dates. He was punctual.

Terrific job! Arrived on time (actually earlier than expected which was great for me!). They were fast, efficient, polite, knowledgeable. They put down floor coverings and cleaned up beautifully. I highly recommend this company!

It was a very unpleasant experience. 1. They came late, very late! They were supposed to arrive between 8-8:30am but they didn't show up until 9:10am. 2. Very unprofessional! They just took a peek inside my chimney and claimed my chimney is clean and OK to use but still gave us a $3000 quote for some "repair work".

They went right to work laying drop cloths. They were very nice to my huge dog. They swept, vacuumed, and left

Doesn't return calls, you have to chase him down. Gives excuses on why he can't come. Schedules appointments and doesn't call to reschedule or let you know why when he doesn't show. I wouldn't suggest anyone else to him or use him

They swept all the debris down the chimney and left it there. There is now a pile of ash at the bottom of my chimney in the basement. This is a fire hazard and unacceptable.

Very well. Wilder appeared to know his job very well. Very informative. Answered my questions. Did not appear to mind me looking over his shoulder. Very clean and tidy.

The work went well. Two man crew worked all day. They arrived when they said they would and got the job done and left the work site in good order.

It was very hard to get an appointment schedule within 30 days to get an estimate and then estimate came about 2X what we expected. Can not speak to quality of work but thought prices were quite expensive.

When they couldn't upsell me on their preliminary visit, they asked if they could do the project then and there instead of coming back . They used nonmatching grout/cement so yes, they did repair a brick that got loose for $149 and used grey cement when the rest of the front entryway has brown/tan colored cement.

This service was a continuation from a prior one when Mr. Ted missed an appointment that resulted in a poor review. I am very happy to say that Mr. Ted has kept his promise to make it up this time. He took great pride in his work, his quality of work, punctuality and professionalism have earned him a "A" review!. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience!

Two men showed up (just 30 minutes later than scheduled, hence B rating) and were very polite and professional. They completely covered the floor to prevent anything from getting on them from the chimney (new floors, so really appreciated that). They then began the sweeping of the chimney, using different brushes and tools to make sure it was clean and safe to use. The gentleman was kind enough to explain some things to me in regards to proper usage, cleaning, care and simple solutions if any problems arise. We are new to this home and this is our first ever wood burning fireplace so we wanted to be sure we care for it properly to ensure longtime usage. During our discussion, he did let me know that the chimney was extremely filthy and seemed as though it had not been cleaned before. That being said, you wouldn't know any different from how clean the area was when they left. While one man swept the chimney, the other held a vacuum to remove all of the soot. I am very thankful for them and the only reason that I will most likely not use them again is because they drove a little over an hour to get to my home. We are grateful that they were willing to fulfill our Angie's List coupon and come out to care for our chimney. I would absolutely recommend this company to others.

Ted is great. He's responsive and friendly. He gave us an honest assessment (our chimney was fairly clean) without any attempt to upsell us. The work was fast and clean. Will definitely contact him when we need our next cleaning.

The inspection wasn't exactly high tech: an assistant who did much of the work shone a flashlight up the chimney to check for loose bricks and other issues. None were noted. The cleaning seemed thorough and he correctly noted that we don't use the fireplace often, yet a fair amount of black soot was swept down into the hearth. He had laid down a black tarp beforehand and moved a nearby couch, so the mess was minimized and I thought he cleaned up very nicely. Watching them put a ladder against the house to get up on the roof to the chimney was harrowing because we have a lot of low power lines, but there was ultimately no problem. The assistant suggested a chimney cap priced around $450 for parts/labor and was perfectly pleasant when I declined. Not sure if that's a reasonable price.

Mr. Gallagher came to my house and looked at the chimney from the street. He concluded that I needed a chimney liner for $2000 and a brick rebuild of the chimney. At this point in time I am just looking for a chimney sweep, and am not in a position to spend thousands in additional work. When we spoke on the phone, he was a pleasant gentleman who was easy to talk to. But I'm sure he understands that I am unprepared to spend that much right now.

The chimney had not been cleaned in several years so it was dirty but small so they were able to sweep it quickly. There was apparently a brick out of place because of freezing/thawing in the winter so they put it back in its place and put in fresh mortar. Ted needed to remove the cap to accomplish this and 2 bolts fell out in the process - apparently they are normally welded in so he was surprised that they were loose. He found and replaced one but could not find the other. He did say however that if the cap makes noise in the wind, he would return to fix it, free of charge. Ted and his coworker were very polite and professional and left no mess/trace. I would call them again.

Scheduling was easy, though we had to reschedule once. The work was able to be completed in a day, and any bricks that were damaged were replaced, and the brick and stairs look great! I'd use RockSolid again (actually, I need some repair work done in the front!)
