Great! Ted, Wilder, and the other workers from RockSolid Chimney are terrific. Ted is the no-frills, down-to-earth owner. He prices the jobs, writes up the contract, schedules the work. Wilder (like Wilbur with a "d") and the other fellows do the demolition and building. Gosh are they nice. Clean, careful, conscientious, and responsible. We had to watch out for a big tree, a little tree, kids and dogs and they did. They threw in re-attaching a fallen gutter downspout for free! All work done very nicely and improving the appearance and function. Note, the fallen-down block wall was because the tree roots grew up under an old old wall. They went out of their way to find new wall cap materials that looked consistent with the old wall. If it took more time to do it right, they take the time to do it right. Honorable, honest, people of their word. I highly recommend them for your masonry needs.

Very well. Competent, courteous folks. Gave us an estimate for relining and rebuilding the brickwork. Very reasonable estimate. We will use them for these additional projects.

Great, very efficient, very clean job, thoroughly tidied up after the work. Also advised that second chimney did not yet need a clean - I thought this was great to give an honest assessment.

I was having a new roof put on and thought, oh maybe it would be a good idea to have the chimney buttoned up first in case there were any issues. Good thing I called RockSolid Chimney. My 120 year old brick chimney (it's a tall one, too) was nearing the end of its useful lifespan. Ted recommended to replace it from the roofline up to avoid any future issues. Also, the inside of said 120 year old chimney had some issues, including that since we switched to externally vented gas furnaces a couple years ago, there wasn't enough "draw" to pull up the emissions from our 2 gas hot water heaters and an ancient much-loved antique gas range that vents directly into the chimney. Ted recommended stainless steel twin liners, one to the gas range, the other to the gas hot water heaters. I wanted American-made brick and stainless steel chimney cap, no cheap junk from China, please. All good. Wilfred and his guys do the actual labor. They are great. Very conscientious, hardworking, and clean up when they are done. My new chimney is very handsome, the new cap keeps the weather and animals/birds out, the new liners... who the heck knows, what goes on inside the chimney, but it all works great. For $6,200 we definitely got what we paid for. I liked their work so much we hired them to repoint the chimney on our rental house, another $1,200. Oh yes, and they cleaned up my cracked front steps and skim coated them nicely for a couple hundred bucks as a bonus. Chimneys are ignored, overlooked, forgotten... don't forget or overlook yours. It is an essential health and safety component of your home.

Seems to have done a good job with rebuilding the chimney and putting in a new liner. Had some leaking in the attic around chimney after it rained a few days later, so I called the owner, and workers came back the next day to seal the roof shingles around the chimney. They also clean up and redid some masonry work that was a little sloppy. I was happy with their response and service.

I set up an appointment but RockSolid was a no-show. I called and they said they had car trouble. I took that at face value and requested that they follow-up to reschedule when they had access to their appointment book. They never followed-up. I will never know if they are any good, but I would like other Angie's List users to know about my experience.

Ted was able to clean our chimney, and let us know that it was best to keep only small fires in it because of the construction.

I couldn't be happier with the service. They didn't give the lowest bid, but it was a very reasonable one. The work and professionalism of the crew was top notch. When internal chimney damage was detected as part of the rebuild process, the crew foreman explained to me why it had to be addressed, and how much extra it would be. It was obvious that the work needed to be done, and all of the costs were very reasonable. I would happily recommend them for chimney projects.

Ted was prompt in responding to my queries via angiesList messaging service. Scheduled the date & time - Wilfred came on time, looked at our chimney and gave a list of items that need to be done along with quote, we broke it into near term & long term. Decided to proceed with near term fixes and Wilfred called the same evening to let me know that he could come in the next day and complete the work. On the scheduled day, Wilfred and his associate came in morning and completed their job. Wilfred explained the work and gave a demo of the new damper. Overall excellent work!

Unfortunately, after a very dry summer, the work had to be rescheduled 3 times because of weather. Otherwise, the work progressed very well and was finished in 2 days (3 days were estimated). The work was thorough and cleanly done (no smeared cement outside of seams; bricks evenly placed). The workers coordinated with each other very well and the cleanup was good. We made a contract for some additional masonry work and a neighbor also asked them to quote on some work for his property.

I chose this company because the other reviews suggested we'd get a fair estimate without pushy sales, and that's exactly what happened. Ted gave a thoughtful appraisal of what needed doing (and what didn't). We decided to wait on the lower-priority piece of work (repointing and sealing) until we finished some other external work on the house, and sure enough we got a follow up call six months later. The team who came to the house was efficient, neat, and gracious (even working around other work in the house that day) and cleaned up spotlessly. We would absolutely recommend Rock Solid and will come back for that final piece of work.

They were supposed to provide masonry repair services in addition to the chimney sweep. They called and said they would get back to me but they didn't, so I'm supposed to get a rebate. When they came, they charged me an extra $150 for putting the pile in the garbage disposal. They told me to add a lining inside the chimney but their estimate was too high.

This was a $149 big deal purchase. They did a fantastic job. I had to pay some extra on top of the price of the deal. It was about $450 more.

They were responsive, professional, they completed the job in a very short amount of time. I had complete confidence in their work.

It was fine. He didn't have the proper equipment to clean out a pellet stove chimney so I was a bit bummed that didn't get done.

It seemed a bit pricey for a job that lasted only about 30-40 minutes, but that may be the going rate. This job normally involves 2 persons but one of them had to stay in the van to avoid getting a ticket. Nonetheless, he was in an out in less than 40 minutes. I hope no corners were cut but have no way of knowing. He was courteous.

I do not think they did a thorough enough job. There was an additional cost. I think they charge me about $700. They could have put on another coat or a thicker coat on the foundation. The workers were okay.

Wilder and his partner came on time. They did an excellent job working on the chimney. They cleaned up all the mess after the job was done professionally. I used the chimney and it appears it had some smoke came out of the basement fire place( my second fireplace) because they are linked together. I called and emailed them,I got feedback with solutions provided immediately. They are very responsible, and I would use them again in the future, thanks !!

I used Rock Solid Chimney LLC. I had to of used it around November because I wanted, you know, the front steps were done before the Winter. I know the cost, according to Angie's List, was $149 but he had to do extra work. They were very good, they'd get an A. It was last winter and a neighbor helped me by putting salt on my brick stairs so that dissolved the mortar and going to need to be redid. I would use them in the future. They were very very good.

This was a big deal purchase and it turned out terrible. Them I would never invite back out. Their sole purpose in coming out is for them to look at what work they recommend having done for our chimney. When he finished he asked if we wanted to do the work that they recommended. I told him no and asked him to just do the cleaning. He said our chimney did not need to be cleaned. They did not do a service and Angie's List refunded our money back. It was no better or worse than anything else. In my mind he was coming out under false pretenses. He showed up, but he did not do what was supposed to be done. I would not call him back.

Was origninally scheduled several weeks prior to actual service, just a few hours before original appointment owner Ted called to cancel (after I had taken 1/2 day off from work to be home) he was "sick". Day of service Ted and an assistant were very early and waiting for me when I arrived home, the service was quick (question if it was actually completed) and a mess was left. A living room chair was stained with soot. The estimates received were just about double I had received from another company. One item he suggested with a cost of over $300.00, I purchased and installed myself for $39.00 in less than 15 minutes. Thats a pretty big mark up for a simple job. I initally used this company because of an Angies List deal, but would not again and suggest you not either.
