They were prompt. They did a great job except that one part of our roof that they still need to fix. I was trying to get a company that did the work themselves and they let me believe that they would do everything with people but they actually subcontract the gutter part. On top of that, I wanted to make sure that all our plans will be okay; I also understood that there'll be a foreman here who would oversee the work but the crew came before the foreman. I looked at my window and I see an old gutter flying down. I had to call out and ask them to stop and wait until the guy is up there. They were quick; they did it for two or three days.

I was pleased with it. It looks good.

Three men came. The lead person came inside and saw the ice dam damage that we had. He and the other men worked for almost two hours clearing the roof, clearing the ice dams and icicles, etc. They worked quietly (no music blaring, no yelling back and forth). They did the job well, and we were impressed and grateful.

Everything couldn't have gone better. They were on time and efficient. The workers were very good. We have no complaints at all.

I had written a poor review previously as we had some communication issues. Once we got past that (and they admitted it was their issue which I find very refreshing-most people rarely accept responsibility), it went GREAT! They are hard working, trustworthy,and took the time to diagnose the roof problem correctly. The crew was professional, reliable and friendly. The manager, Rich, has been in touch with me throughout the repair process and I feel confident the work was done well. I will certainly hire them again when my roof needs replacing in a few years and I highly recommend them!

Rich was great while he was here. However once we came to terms and a price on the job, he disappeared. He hasn't returned various emails or calls. It's frustrating to go through a process finding a contractor and then they go radio silent without explanation.

Would not recommend this company, I had installed a new second floor deck, made sure to ask to have it covered during the roof removal. Had to look myself, only to find that it was not covered, finally had it covered, but still had to clean up the tar. I have had the company return to the house 5-6 times, to fix leaks, had to have 4 ceiling repainted by their contractors. they did a good job. Still have leaks, same places as before, but will not call them again. As my 2 year limited warranty on the work has past by. I will not give them any more of my money. The company president is impossible to get on the phone. They left a copper flat roof section, 6' x 6' unsecured along the edges, almost lost the copper. I am still picking up old shingles from the yard and gardens, have stepped on roofing nails twice, with one flat tire from a nail.

The work was fine and the price was comparable to other estimates I received. The main purpose for my poor review is the lack of response I received from Newton Roofing and the amount of time it took to complete a relatively small job. I originally called them to have a leak fixed and some other work done that was needed with my roof and gutters. Their response at first was very good and I liked their approach to the leak (start with a basic fix and re-evaluate). However, after I signed the proposal, it all went downhill. It took me multiple phone calls to be able to schedule the job. Unfortunately, it rained on the original day they were supposed to come and understandably they did not show. However, it again took me multiple phone calls to schedule another date. Finally in my third message, I expressed the urgency in returning my call. They finally did and agreed to come out on a Saturday to do the job and walk through the job with me the week before. They showed up on that date and did the work. However, the leak was not fixed and the workers said they would have someone call me with a price to take the job to the next level. I called that Monday and left a message. Again, I left multiple messages with no return call. In the meantime I noticed they did not attach one of the downspouts properly to the house like we agreed. Finally I left a message stating that I would not pay the invoice until I received a call back. When I did, I expressed my disgust with their business practices and lack of a call back. I also expressed that I would not use them to finish the job, and would never consider them for roofing jobs in the future (what was a smaller job could have turned into a larger job in the future if their response was better). The person I spoke with said that he was overwhelmed with calls which is why I did not receive a call back earlier. They finally came out to re-attach the downspouts correctly and I paid the invoice. I called them originally in August, signed the proposal at the beginning of September, had the work done at the middle of October, and just had them out to fix the downspouts at the end of October. I was very displeased with their response, business practice, and the amount of time it took to do this job (which is still not complete and now I have to find a new provider). Completely unacceptable and I would not recommend them at all.

We got estimates from three roofing companies, and they all seemed to be proposing about the same work but the prices varied significantly. (I heard the same thing from a friend who got estimates from five different roofing companies, and this was also my experience last year getting roof estimates for a different house that I manage.) We picked Newton because their estimate was on the lower side, and also because they had quick availability to do the work (some companies had multi-month wait lists). I was slightly surprised to get a phone call about whether they could schedule the work for the next day or day after. (I was expecting maybe scheduling ahead a week or two.) There was a small amount of confusion about what needed to be done just prior to the work date (e.g. the driveway needs to be clear for delivery of the dumpster, and there has to be a clear place in the yard for delivery of the shingles and lumber), but this was pretty easy to clear up. We had no trouble reaching the job lead person by phone, or the main office. We ran into an unexpected problem in the form of some poison ivy on the property, which complicated access to the roof. (This wasn't obvious during the estimate, because we had the estimate done during the winter when there was snow cover.) Newton was able to handle it, but the access restriction made the job take two days instead of one day. This might not be an issue on an average house, but due to the way our very small yard has multiple terrace levels and stone walls near the house, I can understand why it caused problems. We agreed to split the extra labor cost, with Newton absorbing half of it and us paying the other half, which I thought was fair because it wasn't really something that could have been anticipated at the time of the estimate. It might have been preferable if we'd had enough time to just get a poison ivy removal service in before the work, but it's certainly not Newton's fault that we didn't know what was growing in our yard. As far as I can tell, the roof is working fine so far (it was actively leaking before). Cleanup was fine too - a couple of rolls of nails turned up in the yard, but not a big deal.

We liked them very much. It took about 2 days to complete the work, it was within the timeframe they said it would be. They were easy to get ahold of. They were easy to talk to. They came out 2-3 times before we actual signed the contract. They are very good.

I was thoroughly impressed with Newton Roofing Residential. We had water in our new home after one of the heavy rainstorms this summer. I called and had a pleasant conversation with someone in the office. He told me when the next available appointments were (the next day and the day after that). A few minutes later, he called me back and said that he had looked up our house on GoogleMaps. He didn't see anything obvious but he had looked closely enough to know where our downspouts are and he gave me a few recommendations and things to check. When Rich Melo came for our appointment, he was very kind, respectful and knowledgable. As a first- time home owner, I felt that he walked me through everything, explained the technical "stuff", and answered my questions. Rich went on the roof to take a look around. Afterwards he put his ladder back on his truck and spoke to me. He told me that a piece of our gutter shield was missing. When I told him that it was on the ground by the side of the house, he got his ladder back out and replaced it for me - free of charge! I can't imagine I would have ever been able to do that myself. It also seems, fingers crossed, that this may have been the underlying cause for our interior water damage. I will most assuredly call Newton Roofing Residential again if we have water damage and when it's time to get work done on our roof.

I contacted Newton roofing in October and they were really responsive. They came over in a few days, checked out my roof and gave me a quote. Then the weather started to get bad because of winter so we were delayed in getting the roof fixed. Then they fell off the radar all together. I would email and call and receive no response. When they did work they were great and really professional. It was very hard to get in touch with them and the fact that it took 8 months to get my roof patched s ridiculous. I should have just cut the cord and found another contractor.

DID NOT USE, NO WORK PERFORMED.

The job they did was actually very good, especially since those leaks were difficult tasks, When the crew came, they seemed knowledgeable and professional. I had, however, trouble getting Richard to return my telephone calls and scheduling appointments. At the end, one leak still remained, and I was told by Rich that one entire side of my roof needed total replacement. Not believing him, I called my insurance agency, who in turn called in an roofing engineer. This man told us that he, too, could not see where the roof could be patched, since it only leaked when winds were blowing from certain direction. He also suggested to have that particular side of the roof redone. So it seemed that Richard was right in that regard, and his lack in responsiveness to my calls could be explained by his frustration over my roof.

They responded to my call within an hour and came the next day to rake the roof and provided good advice about how to avoid this problem in the future. They were polite,professional and neat. Also,did not push for more work than necessary. I will use them again for roofing issues.

We had a roofing issue raised during our home inspection. A person from Newton Roofing came out and reviewed the roof. He was personable and knowledgeable. He indicated I would receive an estimate within a week or so. I heard nothing back. I left two voice mail messages at Newton Roofing with my address, requesting the estimate. I never heard back. I would have been perfectly happy to hear that they were too busy: it wasn't urgent, so it could have been scheduled for winter or spring. The experience was peculiar: everything was perfectly pleasant, with no dispute and no problem...and then complete silence. I found it unprofessional.

They were really quick and good. Last year when there was a storm, some of the shingles got blown off and we had a leak. They came and repaired this for us. So far, so good. They don’t make a mess, even when throwing the shingles off the roof. Their pricing was surprisingly reasonable. When the shingles got blew off, I thought it would be days before they could come out because so many people were affected, but they wanted to come out the same day.

left a message with a few people, rich was the first one to call back, and called a few times to keep me up to date w/timing of their visit. his guys were here later the same day. we had an ice dam, with huge icicles hanging from the roof (2 story house plus attic) and off the front of the house, which we only noticed when we had water leaking inside the house. his guys took them all down and pointed out few things they noticed that would need to be dealt with in the spring. fast, professional, got the job done in under 6 hours from initial phone call to completed service. thanks!

With all the positive reviews on Angies List, i was eager to use this company's services. However they didn't return my phone call, nor did they respond to my e-mail. Other companies responded to me within 24 hours. With this company it has been several days (phone) and several weeks (email), and I have yet to hear from them

The team was very professional. Rich came by and was very friendly and provided me with a step by step view of the process. I would definitely use them again for all roofing needs in the future.

Exceptional. Look no further. Rich diagnosed the problem almost instantaneously and gave us a quote quickly. I did miss the first estimate meeting due to communication error. My bad though for not being thorough. The work done is perfect. Alberto and his crew absolutely did a great job. Highly recommended.

They came out when they made an appointment for an estimate. They had a great selection of roofing tiles and their estimate was spot on. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. The others were either more expensive or the same, but I worked it out. I don’t remember whom I called for the same. I would hire them again but I hope I never have to.

They were very professional. They were prompt in giving me, when I called them to get a quote. We scheduled an appointment two days later and then had the quote a day after. It was the first quote I had. I got quotes from two other companies. I really liked their presentation. Their crew was excellent, professional. They worked well, cleaned everything up after they finished. I am extremely pleased with the work they did. There was one thing I wanted done that they were willing to do for me but the other two roofing contractors were not. That was to revent a couple of bathroom ceiling fans to the outside. They gladly did it and took care of it. The other two said they would have to get somebody else to do it. That made a little difference. One person is going to do everything rather than many. I was very happy. Obviously, I hope I never need another new roof. It really looks good. I'm extremely pleased.

I believe I could have gotten the same quality work at a lower price than with Newton Roofing Co if I had gotten other estimates but Newton Roofing Co responded very quickly and provided an estimate a day later. The man even came out a second time to confirm and explain the work to be done. The people did a good job, they sent pictures to my email, and I was pleased with the quality. I would recommend them.

The roof over the den had a leak. The roof is part shingles and part flat. Richard came to look at the problem. He made a thorough inspection of the roof. He is very very knowledgable and pleasnt to work with. He identified the problem and shortly after he sent me the estimate that I thought it was very reasonable. They came at the scheduled time replaced the flat part of the roof and cleaned the area after the work. They were very professional. I am very satisfied.
