custom cabinets
+ -1 moreIt went very well. They actually delivered one month before they said, which made us scramble a little, but they stored the cabinets for free. One of the exotic wood veneers we liked became unavailable at the last moment, something about the size of the tree it came from, which dissapointed us a little, but they came up with an alternative finish schedule which we ended up agreeing was better than the first. Their enginerring team is great, the drawings you get will make your builder and architect love you, nothing at all like what we saw as example drawings at other showrooms. Also, TAKE THE SHOP TOUR. It is a great and really shows you what goes into making the cabinets, and the attention they pay to details. You will pay a lot, but you'll get at least what you paid for if not more, they do not cut corners. They have a great showroom, but don't expect the 500 page catalog, the matching shopping bags, like the big brands. One room for improvement though, get a secretary guys :-)
Description of Work: My friends did an Arclinea kitchen and it looks great, so we went to arclinea and poggenpohl. Mercedes is no longer at Arclinea, and we didn't like the new people, and the finishes were limited, and my husband wasn't crazy about poggenpohl. He is a real estate developer/builder, and he doesn't like the idea of high-end cabinets being made from particleboard, and the showroom not having their own installation employees. So we found moda cucina on the web, they build tres cool kitchens right here in Boston. We visited their showroom in the boston design center, and they designed a kitchen from scratch, moving some things around, taking one wall out. The design was something we never thought of, perfect. Then we went through an exciting selection process with exotic woods, they madevarious samples for us to review.They did really well layed out, and detailed production drawings of the job, built the cabinets, and installed them. My husbands crew did the renovation.
