Two weeks later, I had not heard from him; so, on 2014 August 28, I called his office and spoke to his assistant Misha, who said she would remind him that I was waiting for his proposals. After another two weeks, on about September 11, I still had not heard from him; so I called again and left a message asking him to call me back. After yet another couple of weeks, I sent him a message through the "Contact us" page of his website. I never heard from him. I saw his van parked in front of the house directly across the street from mine; and I thought he might ring my doorbell when he finished there; but I never heard from him. I have no idea why he never responded to me. AFAIK, I did nothing to offend him. I did not ask for substandard work or a discounted price. My house is not shabby. My credit is good. My money is good. Eventually I got another alarm company and another electrician to perform the tasks I needed done. Both those firms were responsive and did good work.

Went very well. Everything worked.

They were always on time and the work was done well. However most of the time it was difficult to get a hold of someone in the office to get things scheduled/rescheduled. In addition, after the work is done and paid for, don't expect to have your questions answered if they arise.

We ordered a circuit break panel labeling service from Markarian Electric. They were slow to call to set up an appointment, but eventually they sent two junior people to do the job. The two individuals and the person I coordinated this work with were very friendly and helpful. However, the work was not completed or accurate. The two technicians left me a schematic of the breakers and what each one serviced. A few breakers did not have any information and the technicians identified one breaker to have knob & tube. I was curious why some of the breakers did not have any thing marked because all had wires into them. It turns out there were several outlets and lights serviced by these breakers. As I looked into this further, I noticed there was additional knob and tube as well. So, not all breakers were marked and not all wires going into the breaker box were noted. I called to report these issues. The person told me she would call the technicians. She left me a voicemail the next day to state that the technicians had marked the breaker boxes, but missed the one I noted and did not have an answer on the additional knob & tube. I told her, there was more than one breaker not marked and what gives me confidence the others are accurate? She said she would check with the technicians. I hadn?t heard from her in over two weeks, so I called. Finally got her and shared my concerns. She hasn?t gotten back to me (it?s been over a week). There service was done Oct 5th. Over 2 months and this problem is still not resolved. Conclusion: Job not completed and work is questionable.

I thought the whole home electric inspection would be a good idea after discovering a few minor wiring problems, but since they don't open anything up, I didn't find it terribly useful. You can buy a $5 voltage tester and verify the basic outlet operation yourself. Arc fault breakers might be the only way to effectively catch some of these wiring issues. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to go to Markarian again for other electrical needs -- they seem very professional and pricing seems to be on par with other contractors.

Some initial problems but Markarian made it right.

Eric was great. He worked with a very short timeline and delivered what we needed on time. The price was better than some other competitors too. Very professional and easy to work with.

Excellent experience overall - very prompt in returning my call. I was having trouble with carbon monoxide detectors that were going off, they helped triage and assess the problem over the phone and then set up a time to come within several days. Eric Markarian is the owner and he himself came to the house, looked over our security system, made recommendations, fixed a few faulty connections. I change our Home Security coverage to go through his company and have been very pleased. These guys are prompt, professional, very pleasant to work with. I will be using them for all my electrician needs in the future.

I initially contacted Eric based on a recommendation from someone on the yahoo group for my town. The review was so good, that I called right away, switching from my previously used electrician to Eric. I left a message and also wrote an email. Two weeks had passed. When I called again finally, my call was answered. The excuse I was given was that the business was in the middle of changing its website and they lost my previous inquiry because they were changing web site providers. I thought it was not a big deal and proceeded. Eric came to visit (on time, but after one reschedule when he didn't show up at all) and we explained what needed to get done. He sent a quote, on which my husband had questions. We wanted a different type of electrical dimmer switch than the one he proposed. We also had one question. However, after that, Eric never got back to us, not by phone and not by email. We called again, and asked again, but nothing happened. It was and is unclear to us why we got this type of response. Our projected cost was high enough (as there is enough work in our house), and we were willing to pay, and also went an extra mile to try to actually get Eric to visit and to do the work. Perhaps, visiting from Cambridge to Brookline is a problem for this business. IF so, they should have told us this initially, instead of dragging their feet for this long. It has been 3 months, and nothing is done because we chose the wrong electrical contractor.

We were very pleased. There weren't any issues as far as scheduling. The guys came in and he ended up having them to stay longer. My husband dealt with it. He was a nice kid. The fan has been working good, the only problem is that it is not a self cleaning fan. We were very pleased and I know that my husband even purchased additional time with the company. He wouldn't have done that if he wasn't comfortable with the way he started it.

I would not recommend Markarian to anyone. I could go on and on about the project, and every detail of our job, however to keep this to the point: 1. Quoted our job over the phone, however in the end, there were hidden costs 2. Charged us for a new ceiling box to hold the weight of the ceiling fan. Charge was $150, this box is sold at Home Depot for $15. 3. As soon as the electrician arrived for the job (at the very end of the window of time given), he said he couldn't stay because he had another client he promised he would work at their house the same day. I had to call the main office and confirm that he would stay the entire time. I waited over a week for the appointment and told it would be done in one day. In the end they stayed, and were at our home until the end of the day. 4. Electrician complained about the company, and our project (apparently he was not told the full scope of our job). 5. Our job turned out to be more complicated than anticipated, however they were at our house for over 4-hours and only installed one fan. 6. When installing the fan, the correct size screws were not included in the box. The electricians intern had to go to Home Depot to buy the correct screws. He was gone over an hour. Home Depot is roughly 10 minutes from our home. Not to mention, there is an independent hardware store 3-blocks away, that you drive past on your way to Home Depot. While we were waiting for the correct screws, the electrician didn't do any work. He could have been assembling the other two fans we needed installed, or installing the other fans themselves. 7. Due to the fact it was after 5pm by the time they finished one fan, they did not install the other two we needed completed that day. The only redeeming thing about this company, is they did credit us $50 because of all the mistakes made by their electrician. However, I do feel $50 does not cover the waste of my day and extra time it took us to find a new electrician for the job. The main office was helpful in amending this situation. Ps- the next electrician we hired installed two ceiling fans in 1-1/2 hours and charged us $150. He did not charge us for the additional ceiling boxes he needed for the job (the same ones Markarian charged us $150 for). Less than 1/2 what we paid for one fan installed by this company. I would recommend going with an independent electrician.

Very good about getting the job done, explaining problem, how to fix it, and doing it.

The service went well. One technician came out for the service and did a nice job. He found out there was a loose contact in the circuit box and was able to resolve the issue. He was very competent and he completed the service in about an hour. What they posted on the website for pricing was bit misleading, however, upon talking with them they resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I had no problem scheduling the service.

Great service, excellent repair, excellent price. And only a 1 hour promised window within which the electrician got here right on time.

Fabulous from beginning to end. Misha at the office was so responsive and accommodating, squeezing me in because she knew I needed the small job done fast. Mike the electrician was very friendly to me and my girls, he explained everything that he was doing (and more that I was curious about!), and apologized for arriving late (it really was no big deal!) If I wasn't moving out of state I would definitely use them again!

They seemed to be very well-organized. They could arrange the appointment. They called us for a reminder and they called to confirm. They were pretty professional. They did a good job. I would recommend them.

Incredibly professional work! I'd recommend this company without hesitation to anyone. The electricians are highly skilled, meticulous, creative, courteous, punctual, and finish with work sites "broom clean". They offer various, cost-effective solutions to each work situation, and welcome client insights and feedback in coming up with solutions that won't break the household budget. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate them a perfect 10.

Everyone from Markarian was professional and excellent at their jobs. The inspector said it was the best work he'd seen. Definitely will use them again! Highly recommend, although they are expensive.

I bought the Angieslist coupon for $99 for 2 hours worth of electrical work from Markarian Electric, they were kind enough to let me use it far past the expiration date. Technician came on time, donned shoe covers, was friendly and polite. We had a "dead" outlet in our living room but after a bit of investigation our technician determined that it was actually connected to a switch on the panel along with our front porch and stairwell light, and must have been used by the previous tenants for a lamp switch or something. We had him disconnect the switch from the outlet so that the power to the outlet could not be cut. This whole process took most of the 2 hours. We had him write up estimates for adding some track lighting in our kitchen, installing a ceiling light in the back stairwell and installing an outlet in our attic.

I had a specific job that I discussed with Eric from Markarian Electric. He was cordial, professional, and knowledgeable and recommended I further discuss with one of his employees, Shaun, who had experience with this type of job. We exchanged a few emails and spoke on the phone, and eventually scheduled a visit to do the work (scheduling was the hardest part). Shaun arrived exactly on time, knew what he was doing, and completed the work in a prompt but thorough fashion. Although the system didn't work initially, after some debugging, we found the problem and Shaun went out of his way to double check things and make sure everything was right. Having used a number of electricians in the past for my home, this was my best experience to date, and I would highly recommend Shaun, Eric, and Markarian for any job.

They were punctual and professional. The work was done well and the clean-up was good.
