Working with Eric and his team was an outstanding experience. His knowledge, workers and customer service are truly outstanding. We moved in to our new home in September 2010 and learned that Markarian Electric had wired our entire building. We liked our electrical set up so we decided to give him a call. He was extremely responsive and immediately came by to assess our needs. He likes cutting edge technology and we clicked right away on how we wanted our home theater system and TV set up and well as other electrical projects. The AV project included helping us select an awesome surround sound bar, installing a 46" LCD TV over our fireplace and hooking all of the components through the wall and into our amplifier. His work was outstanding and he took the time to program our remote and show us all the amazing feature of the system. Markarian also installed our wireless security system. It's a great modern system and the monthly monitoring is less than other competitors. Markarian also installed a Runtal Towel Warmer with a timer. They did a fantastic job! The best part about Markarian is they are so easy to contact and so responsive to answering questions. We have several more minor project stacking up (like wanting an IP thermostat) and can't wait to call them back.

They were very good. They were also very professional. I got three estimates for the job. I didn't have a problem with the company. I ended up using a company that I knew.

I had a small, very specific job to do that involved installing a new wall light fixture and two outlets in a bedroom on walls where there were none. Markarian's scheduler was willing to schedule someone in less than a week to come to my house, give me a price and then do the job on the spot if I wanted to go ahead. Over the phone, I asked several times for the hourly rate, which is how all other electricians I spoke with priced their services. Each time I asked (including on different days), they refused. This prevented me from comparing prices. So, I canceled the appointment in advance and found someone who was more open and transparent, who also did the job in a few days.

Terrific! On a cold, rainy November day my old thermostat died, and I called at about 2:30 pm. I was back in business with a new installed thermostat by 4:30.

The interaction was fine, we liked the representative, but that was as far as we got. We didn't accept the estimate because it was quite a bit more than the others. They were responsive to come and they were punctual.

When our heating system finally broke down for the last time (thank goodness it was fairly warm out), we were told by the contractor that we needed new wiring for our new boiler and thought the quote was too high. My friend recommended Markarian Electric to do the wiring. I called and spoke to a very pleasent woman, she made the appointment with me for the day the boiler was being installed so we wouldn't have to go without heat. The owner, Eric came out with his helper. Took a look at what needed to be done and took the time to explain everything to me, gave me a quote which was significantly lower than the contractor's price. They went to work right away and had my heat up and running in no time! I found them to be very professional and very polite and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

We have been clients of Eric Markarian since we bought our nearly 100 year old, 2-family home 6 years ago. In that time we have hired him for at least 12 projects in both our unit and our rental unit. Some past projects include: installing grounded outlets in both units, installing new electrical and lighting on our new back porches, installation of ceiling light/fan unit in rental bathroom, installation of recessed lighting, lighted medicine cabinet and fan in our new bathroom renovation, installation of dishwasher in kitchen, installation of front porch lighting and creating shared light switch for both units (with remote control), installation of dedicated motion-sensing light for driveway, installation of recessed lighting in 3 bedrooms and pantry, installation of electrical heating unit and thermostat for baby's room, installation of ceiling fixtures for dining and living rooms, installation of dedicated grounded electrical outlet for basement sump pump, installation of dedicated grounded electrical outlets for both units' laundry facilities. His professionalism, warm rapport with clients, creative problem solving, attention to detail and skill in assessing and explaining the scope of a project (as well as options) are second to none. Another bonus for us was that Eric is well-versed in the intricacies of older homes with challenging and antiquated electrical wiring. Along the way, Eric has kept us informed of any technological advances that could resolve long-standing electrical issues we have in our home. We would never consider contacting anyone other than Eric for our electrical work and have referred numerous friends (who have also become repeat customers.) For the current project, we worked with Eric and his wonderful assistant Julie in the planning stages and his associates Fernando and Jason for the installation. Everyone was extremely helpful during the entire process. Even when we discovered a few last-minute glitches - like how to best conceal the cable wiring, one bedroom not previously hard-wired for photovoltaic smoke detectors, and a rat's nest of wiring in another bedroom's ceiling - Eric and his team took it in stride and helped us determine the best solutions for all. Fernando and Jason not only worked efficiently and tirelessly on the project, but also were happy to accommodate our son's nap schedule in the scope of the two day project. Fernando and Jason made sure that we were fully aware of the breadth of their work and gave us ample opportunities to observe them throughout the two days. In addition, each day our home was left as neat and clean as before. We are already looking forward to future projects with Markarian Electric (and with an old home there are always plenty.)
