Lars is professional, knowledgeable, and reliable. He is always very prompt whenever we schedule an appointment and gave clear, accurate estimates as to exactly how long each job would take (which was helpful in budgeting for various repairs). He was able to diagnose the issues we pointed out, as well as alert us to other potential electrical problems in our new house and make suggestions. He works efficiently and always makes sure to answer any questions we have. At our request, he was also happy to explain how various wiring worked and discuss various options for replacing existing fixtures and adding new ones. Once the work was completed, he cleaned up thoroughly and sent an itemized invoice. His expertise and professionalism are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to having him complete more work in our home. We highly recommend him.

I have used Lars Fossel for several small electrical jobs replacing household light fixtures over the past few months as part of the work I did to prepare my condo to go on the market this spring. He was recommended to me by another tradesman I worked with in Watertown. I couldn't be more pleased to have met Lars and to have used his services. He not only gets the job done professionally and at a reasonable price, but he is extremely responsive, always returning calls, often on the same day, and scheduling appointments efficiently and quickly. He is prompt for appointments and performs his work quickly and efficiently. He is extremely good at what he does, is very willing and able to explain exactly what he's doing and why, and he is a very interesting and smart person to talk with overall. Lars will also go the extra mile to make sure his customers are satisfied. For example, when I chose to have him install a ceiling light fixture recently for my kitchen that in the end didn't provide enough light for the room (my mistake), he came back and quickly changed it for me to a brighter fixture free of charge. I'm very happy to have found Lars and I will call on him again without hesitation if I need any additional electrical work done. You will not be disappointed if you call on him for whatever your electrical project may be.

Did not hire. Lars did not respond to my calls or emails to schedule a date to perform the duties as explained.

Our house was built in 1880. This was not a small job. Lars spent two full business days working here with both efficiency and professionalism. He took care of everything from actual work to the follow ups. He was clear about hourly rates and time spent on the job. we received running e-mails and phone calls regarding the work and changes or complications. He is approachable and communicative. We would recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a reliable electrician.

Well, I am sorry to report that Lars does not deserve kudos all the time. He came to our house to do an estimate for connecting heat wires in new gutters to a power box, and I had a real hard time to get him to respond. When I got the estimate I had a question about whether it would take 2 or 6 hours, which does make a difference in terms of price. He has never responded in spite of my emails and phone calls.A real nice guy, but it really does not cost him much time to just respond by email and say: Look, I don't have time right now. In this way I would not get frustrated with all my wasted time.This job needed to be done before the hard winter sets in.

I had to call Lars because the motion detector was not working properly ever since the hurricane. He came out pretty immediately and said that there must have been a power surge that damaged this so it would need to be replaced. The part was $70 but he had not told me about how much his hourly rate was $71.25 even though the whole process took less than half an hour. I expressed surprise at the cost of his rate and he started saying how he had told me about this before. I explained that I had not seen him for over a year and there was no way that I could possibly remember his rate but he wouldn't hardly let me speak until I asked him to let me explain why I was surprised. I don't know why he got like that when he wasn't like this the other times I saw him but he should really have let me know his rate upfront and things do change after a year. I would use his services again since I know he does good work.

Lars was absolutely amazing! I was hosting my brother's wedding that weekend and needed a set of lanterns installed on the outside of the house. The lanterns were back-ordered and arrived just days before the event. After reading all of the wonderful reviews on Angie's List about Lars' work, I contacted him. Despite the short notice, he was incredibly accommodating and arranged for an appointment. I simply can not rave more about Lars and his work -- he was prompt, affable, affordable, and willing to talk through the installation. I was also able to ask him questions about other work around the house. Lars patiently explained what was needed and how to best proceed. I will definitely be contacting him in the future and will be recommending him to family and friends. Thank you for a great experience -- the front of the house looked great for the wedding!

Lars made an appointment to look at the work that needed to be done. He gave us a rough estimate and returned as scheduled to do the work. He was very courteous, professional, and his charges were very reasonable. We will call him again.

We contacted Lars and he was out the same day to give an estimate for removing an old ceiling light fixture and installing a new one. We scheduled an 8 AM appointment for the next week, and he was there precisely on time, did the work quickly, neatly, and skillfully, and told us a number of helpful things in the process. We will definitely be calling him again.

I am building a family room and bathroom in the basement, and am acting as GC. I have engaged plumber, carpenter and electrician separately and am doing some of the work myself. Lars has been a dream. He has been punctual, flexible to my schedule, diligent and very easy to work with. He is also willing to take on challenges beyond what I might consider doing; for exaple, part of the job entailed running a new line to the garage for a new subpanel, and he happily crawled under a very-low-clearance porch to pull the new wires. Lars has been a trusted adviser on the project and has provided numerous solutions to the various design challenges. The only reason I would hesitate to recommend Lars, is that I might need his services myself and don't want him to be *too* busy.

I called Lars to arrange an appointment to install several light fixtures. He returned my call quickly, set up a time to come look at everything, showed up on time, was very polite and personable, and seemed to have some good ideas about how to get the jobs done. So far so good .... so why the bad ratings? When Lars left my house he told me it would be several weeks before he could schedule the work (which was fine with me), and that he would get back to me with an estimate in "the next couple of days". That was a couple of MONTHS ago, and I never heard a word back from him. So I'd say that responsiveness and punctuality were great on the front end, and non-existent on the back end, which isn't very professional. I've since gotten someone else to do the work I wanted.

he was very accurate with his cost estimate. he was clean, punctual, and efficient. My bathroom fan was very loud and poorly installed; Lars saved me a lot of time and money by better securing & mounting the existing ceiling fan, rather than installing a new replacement. I will certainly call him agian in the future.

Lars is great and I would recommend him to anyone looking for electrical work. My husband and I just bought our first house, an old colonial with ancient wiring, and we asked Lars to rewire/update the home from top to bottom. He was very patient with us and took the time to answer all our questions and provide advice about issues we weren't sure about, being first time home buyers. One thing I particularly appreciated was that he came over twice before starting the work just to go over the details of everything we wanted and to provide advice about different parts of the job. He always took our phone calls and was very responsive to our questions during the course of the work. He was also very flexible when we changed our preferences during the job (which happened more than a few times!). He did a great job with the work and completed it in a prompt, timely manner. He minimized the holes he had to cut in the old plaster walls and had suggestions about how to place outlets to reduce the holes (i.e., putting outlets in the baseboards instead). The price came in right above the estimate, but we had added some work during the course of the project and I felt everything was fair. Another thing I appreciated was that he was willing to go to Home Depot and pick up some light fixtures we had ordered but didn't have time to grab ourselves. He also shoveled our walkway, which was just a nice thing to do! Overall, he was very pleasant to work with, we trusted him in our house, and we will definitely call him back if we have future problems.

He arrived on time and was professional. He found out that one bathroom's circuitbreaker controlled all three bathrooms. He also gave me advice on electrical strips that I owned. He said if all problems were not solved he would come back. The call was expensive but so worth it.

I called Lars, he offered a tentitive diagnosis over the phone, said he would rearrange his schedule to fit us in, did so, came when said he would, and fixed the problem. He was prompt, explained everything he was doing, and did a great job.

My husband & I were having issues with our wired in smoked alarms. The alarms also have back-up batteries. One of them began beeping yesterday, so we changed all the batteries & re-installed them, yet the beeping continued. I called Lars this morning to have him come over to check out the situation. He said he could, but that he could also probably help me over the phone. He then asked me if we had carbon monoxide detectors. Yep. That's what is was! Problem solved & nothing charged. I felt a little silly, but was grateful the beeping stopped! We will definitely use Lars when we need an electrician!

We reached out to Lars because of his positive Angie's List feedback and rating. He was very good. Quick to respond to voice mail, good information, and punctual. He did a nice job, completed on time and on budget. As he works alone, he is very competitive on pricing and only does local work. Highly recommended for small to medium size jobs.

the work went faster than I thought it would and since some things couldn't be done, I was able to ask for the motion lite to be installed. I only wish he had figured out what things couldn't be done before I bought the items or that would have been given more options for lite fixtures originally, but it worked out.

He gave us specific starting dates well in advance and kept to them, completing the work within 3 days each time. He works by himself which means he is fully responsible for each aspect of the job. He always remembered everything we discussed and always did exactly what he said he would do. The quality of the job was excellent, our spaces were left spotlessly clean. He is smart and a pleasure to work with.

We recently purchased our 1851 home and found that the electrical outlets and wiring were hopelessly out of date - hardly any outlets for polarized plugs, and very few outlets in general. Lars came in with a very decent estimate and did the job admirably. He was timely (called if he was going to be late, which was only once), very courteous and friendly, very knowledgable about code and placement as well. He even shifted work to different parts of the house to avoid disturbing our young sons twice-a-day nap schedule, which was extremely helpful. From sparking old dingy outlets and outdated lamps to sparkly new color-coordinated polarized outlets and lights, we could not be more excited. In fact, we have Lars coming back in a month to redo the first floor of the house as well.

Fossel came in the evening to help with lighting issues that turned out to be a tripped circuit breaker. He did note some wiring that was not done to code. I took the opportunity to have him install a timer in the bathroom. I sent the inspection report hoping that he would followup but he didn't respond to calls. The grade for responsiveness/professionalism is mixed as he came during emergency hours as he said he would but didn't have the courtesy to say he didn't want to work on any additional projects.

Lars Fossel was very friendly and professional and did a very good job. They showed up on time and were a pleasure to work with. Their pricing was also very reasonable.

He is a terrific electrician. The installation cost me $312. I am very impressed with him. I like the fact that he is very responsive when I contact him. He sets up an appointment quickly to come out. He has all the things that he needs to do the job. He always comes well equipped, ready to do the job. He is very conscientious about cleaning up. He doesn?t try to oversell. I will use this company again in the future
