The manager came to our house 5 times and still had problems following our intentions. They did not mark where posts were going prior to starting the project and this led to confusion. When the error was pointed out, they handled it in the most unprofessional, belligerent manner that I have ever had with a contractor. I would not recommend them to anyone wanting to install a fence.

Incredibly well. I had been reaching out to McDonough Fence for over a year to request a quote to fix our fence (it had detached due to erosion over time), however, after repeated calls and finally speaking with the sales rep who conveyed disinterest in assisting (he happened to mention that he went to the property back in October, however, I was never updated that he had stopped by). He further mentioned that he didn't see an issue with having to fix it....I mentioned it was being held together with a bungee cord. I called Ideal Fence and left a message. Within an hour, Mark Nilan called and said he would stop by and take a look at both the stockade fence and the chain link which also needed to be re-aligned. Within a day, I had a call back, Mark sent over a quote and the guys were out there fixing the fences by the end of the week. The work was beautifully done. It was such a relief not having to continue to follow-up with emails, calls, etc. I wish I had reached out sooner to Mark and his team. Mark and the team also replaced the wiring on the chain link fence and painted the areas that were scraped over time.

Very well. They were punctual, professional and very tidy. It would have been nice if they could have scheduled me sooner, but I knew from the start that it was a very busy time for them and they never misled me.

After delays of start date, Carlos and his crew did fine work and were very professional. Eddie was easy to deal with and accommodating.

Mostly because of rainy weather they did not get started for many weeks. Otherwise job went smoothly and quickly.

I recently adopted a dog and needed fencing around my large property, including installing 3 gates. Ideal Fence performed the work over a 3 day period professionally and courteously. Their work product was excellent and I appreciated the follow up call I received from Eddie. I knew that it would be a pricey job given the amount of work needed, so I was not surprised at the quoted price. They consulted me whenever there were issues and removed all debris, including a tree stump! I would absolutely recommend Ideal Fence to others.

Eddie was very responsive and he provided a fair quote. They finished the work in a timely manner and were very professional. I'd hire them in a heartbeat, especially since they're local to me.

The company was very good in company was very good in coming to my home. They did a very good job! I am pleased with their work.

On the day of appointment about an hour before the provider was to arrive, the estimator called to confirm the appointment. Because I was in the process of dropping of my kid at practice, I missed the call. In the voice message he left he stated that if I didn't call back in 15 minutes, he was canceling my appointment. I didn't see his message until 30 minutes later; after practice I immediately met another provider at my house and was occupied with them for 15 minutes. When I called the estimator back, he said he was on the other side of town and would not be able to make my appointment as planned. I was of course dumbfounded b/c I was home and already 30 minutes ready prior to my scheduled appointment time. There was no discussion when scheduling the appointment that I had to be ready to confirm an hour ahead...or else. Then the estimator went on to chastise me for not having my phone near me, because now it's my fault that he's fumbled his scheduling. He went on to say that all this week customers have not been home when he's arrived and it's been frustrating. However, I explained to him, 1. I'm not one of those customers; sorry for your pain - but it's not my issue, and 2. I'm not a child - don't scold me because you decided to jump the gun too early. I've been using Angie's List for a little over a year and I've NEVER dealt with anyone who was so unprofessional. My advice to him is to man up and take responsibility for your actions and not blame it on others; and my advice to anyone reading this is to think twice before going with this company. Absolutely one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had. Especially, since just now another competing fence company called an hour early to ask if I could meet them earlier as well, however, they were prepared to come during our agreed appointment time. Apparently, it's all about the company and not the customer at Ideal Fence! Terrible.

We had a fence separating our driveway from the patio that was in danger of collapsing because the previous owner didn't put the fence post deep enough into the ground, leaving it wobbly. The fence was also uneven for the same reason, some posts were put in deeper than others so the height of the fence was inconsistent. And the gate didn't fit so it couldn't be properly latched, so the gate would swing in the wind and repeatedly slam into that wobbly post, increasing the likelihood of the fence eventually collapsing. Eddie from Ideal came out to give an estimate on the same day I called him, he stopped by on his way home at the end of the day. He gave us three different options for how to proceed depending on our budget, and even offered to let us pay in installments if that made it easier to afford what he believed was the better option (we ended up not needing to pay in installments, but it was a nice offer). It was six months before we were able to proceed with the job and put down a deposit, but he honored the original proposal. Because we waited so long before saying we were ready to proceed, it was several weeks before they were able to fit us into their schedule but that is certainly understandable. They called us on the morning they were ready to finally come by, but the short notice is fine because they didn't need us to be home to do the job. When we came home at the end of the day, we had a beautiful fence waiting for us! There was no mess left behind, they respected the property and did an excellent job. We would hire them again.

This company has done work for me two times so far, and every time has been professional and on time, at a price better than the competitors I called for quotes. They were able to install a vinyl fence that matched the wooden one that I had, that was rotting out. When they drove by today, working on a different job, the owner noticed that something on my fence needed to be repaired, so he called me and told me that he was sending guys to fix it. That's top quality service.

Everything went very well from the estimate in August to the installation yesterday. Eddie was prompt in coming out to look at the job and gave me a written proposal before he left. He also gave me a great suggestion to slope the new fence down to 4' where it would be joining the old fence. He certainly knows his business and takes great pride his company's work. Eddie's also very patient and couldn't have been nicer when I called a couple of times recently to find out when my installation date was. The actual installation yesterday was one of the most pain free renovation projects I've had in 35 years! The two-man team arrived on time and got right to work. They were very polite, courteous, professional, and efficient; and, they were very careful not to damage any of my plantings. Before leaving, they made sure that they cleaned and swept the work area. The team did a beautiful job and the fence looks terrific...thank you! UPDATE: After the installation, a bit of fine tuning needed to be done...called Eddie...he said he'd have the crew out within the week...sure enough, the next day the guys came out and made the needed adjustments. Ideal Fence, Inc. stands by their work with a level of professionalism & customer service that I haven't experienced in years!

From the estimate to the installation, Ideal Fence was great! Timely, professional, and great attention to detail. I would hire them again.

I spoke with Eddie a few times before he came out. I was able to send him photos and information over text. He gave me a quote based on our conversations and the photos I sent him. He did not require that I was home at the time the work was done. He was able to install the short steel posts on the inside of our yard, so the street view is perfect. Left the yard in good shape.

The job was done at a rental building. The crew did a great job.

Contacted Eddy @ Ideal Fence. The guy is a no-nonsense straight talking guy. Called him with the details of the job (dimensions of the fence and gate and the type of fence I was interested in). He gave an approximate quote on the phone which is exactly what he charged after doing an on-site review. Also his was the most reasonable of the 3-quotes I got. The turnRound time for the job was a bit long (about 3-weeks) but in the end the job was well done. I would suggest to do all your homework before contacting him.

They were beyond amazing. They were extremely communicative and their pricing was fair. The project was completed in 6 weeks which was faster than I anticipated. They came in under my budget and if I needed to use them again, I would.

Mark was a true ally as far as this project was concerned. He gave us a lot of advice on height, configuration, patterns and materials and was very patient with us as we made decisions around the design. We did this project under the wire, before winter started, and were nervous about the feasibility of finishing it before the ground frosted over. The crew however was punctual, professional and very efficient, and finished the job within the time frame specified and on budget. They were also extremely self-managed, and escalated issues only when necessary - no babysitting or supervision was needed. I highly recommend Ideal Fence, and would not hesitate to use them again. Mark is awesome!

Ideal Fence was very easy to work with. They were able to provide me with a quote the day after I contacted them. There were a few delays getting the job completed due to some weather issues, but given that it was December/January it was to be expected and they were always in communication and their price was the lowest of the several quotes that we received.

Ideal Fence Inc in Waltham did great quality work on our backyard fence. Several sections of wooden stockade fence needed to be replaced (around 50-60 feet). It was very easy to set up an initial consultation appointment. It took a couple of weeks to get the job started, once we signed the contract, but that's probably because they have plenty to do before the cold weather arrives and the ground freezes. Once the workers arrived, the fence was up in less than 2 days. Everything looks great. I'll be hiring them again for other parts of the fence next year.

Mark from Ideal set up an appointment came out promptly and sent an estimate in writing the next day. The estimate was broken down in sections so we could pick and choose what we wanted to do. When the workers were here they were neat and cleaned up after them selves. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I called to request a consultation with Ideal Fence, and was told that the company is scheduling work 6 weeks out (in a somewhat discouraging tone, giving me the impression that the company is quite busy and didn't care for another job). I said that was fine and we scheduled a consultation time. The morning of our scheduled appointment, I got a call from Mark that he was running late but that he would be there later that morning. I was home all day, but he never showed up or called back. I tried calling Mark directly and left a voicemail asking when we could reschedule, but he never called back. I understand if a company is busy, but not showing up for an appointment and then failing to return calls is incredibly unprofessional. I would not recommend Ideal Fence.

I had originally contacted Ideal fence along with 3 other large fence companies in the fall of 2013 to get bids to do approximately 75 feet of fence in my back yard. The bids for all 4 companies came back pretty similar but Mark from Ideal offered me the option to use a prefabricated panel instead of custom panels for a pretty significant discount. This worked out great since I liked the look of the prefabricated panels more than the custom ones since they had the same appearance on both the front and the back of the fence. Mark was also very nice in person so I got a good feeling about his company. I ended up spending the next few months working with my neighbor to agree on the exact location of the property line so I didn?t actually give Ideal the initial deposit for the project until early spring. Once I gave them the deposit I spoke with Mark and he said that unfortunately the panels were not in stock so it would take a few weeks to get them in. On top of that, like all other major fence contractors, spring was a busy time so scheduling would be tricky. Eventually, Mark said he could get the panels and I asked for a Saturday install so I could be home to monitor the work. Mark said his Saturday crew was small at the time so it would be another 3 weeks or so. Finally, when I had figured out a Saturday time Mark informed me that the panels had not arrived but did offer to build a custom panel that would look similar. So I scheduled the work but upon seeing the custom panels I decided that I didn?t like the look and unfortunately had to send the crew away. I spoke with Mark again and he said he was working with the panel distributor to get the ones in I wanted but it would be a few more weeks. While it was a bit of a hassle to wait so long for the fence, I understood the delay was due to the distributor backup, and not Ideal Fence. Mark was decent about getting in touch to explain this but at times I did have to wait a few days for him to return my calls to explain what was going on. Finally, the panels I wanted came in and I scheduled a time to have the installation. Marks crew, led by Carlos, showed up on time with the correct panels and got to work installing them. The crew consisted of two guys both of whom were very experienced. They got to work building the fence and did an excellent job. The attention to detail was incredible going as far as to pre-drill and countersink all of the screws used to secure the fence panels to the posts. In addition, Carlos worked with me to make some minor adjustments to the fence locations and heights in some areas. He even went as far as to fasten panels at different heights to let me see what the different configurations would look like before making the final connections. This level of service was much greater than I would expect from a typical contractor. The project took the entire day to complete and in the end the crew cleaned up the entire yard, removed any trash, and raked out all of the dirt that had been dug for the holes to ensure the yard looked as it had before they arrived. Overall, the fence turned out great and I was happy to have chosen Ideal. While it did take a bit longer than anticipated to get the fence built the final product and price was worth the wait.

In the end things were rectified and we received the 10% off. I am satisfied that this was resolved but it would have been less of a hassle to be given the discount initially rather than have to write a bad review and then be called to say they would honor the coupon.

Ideal Fence did a good job getting the work done quickly (the week after the free estimate). They stained the steel posts to match the existing wooden fence and fixed up the back gate. The only thing that would have made this the perfect job is if I had gotten a little more notice about when they were going to come by to do the work. I got a call the morning of (when I was out all morning), and almost missed the work people before they left after completing the job. Otherwise, I feel the estimator (Mark) was very knowledgeable and explained well what he was recommending and why.
