The original windows in our 116 year old house had ropes that were constantly breaking and were very drafty. It was becoming increasingly difficult and frustrating to keep up with the breaking ropes, jamming and drafts in the winter, but it's difficult to find someone who can properly handle antique windows. FPP Window Restoration & Insulation Services (Fred Sullivan) was very professional from the beginning to the end. Fred responded quickly to our call and explained in detail the procedures that could be done to have more efficient windows i.e. chains, glazing window glass, installing silicone gaskets and cushion bronze weather seal. Fred and his team (Sergio) were prompt, efficient and very professional. It took 3 days to do 19 windows (the ones we open most often and were in the worst shape) and the finished product is great. In fact, we're thinking of having the remaining 10 windows done in the spring. Great job!

He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain some of the details to me. He even told me how to sand and paint the windows so I could save the money and do it myself. He let me know the different options and how much each would cost. He was even able to salvage the chains, weights, and pulleys from another one of his projects so I wouldn't have to pay for new ones. I appreciated how cost-conscious he was and how attuned he was to aesthetics. Now my windows function better and look great.

The owner/operator was prompt, courteous, and honest. These windows were difficult; the house is old, the foundation has shifted, and nothing is square, plus there was some warping. FPP appeared to enjoy the challenge, but the results were not perfect. That's why I awarded a B" for quality -- but that could arguably be an "A", because the work was very good, just not fabulous. The rooms are warmer and the windows go up and down and don't leak air, which is far, far ahead of where we were before the work was done. I would hire FPP again.

Fred Sullivan was a pleasure to work with. He came and gave us a quote, and we even went to visit his shop to take a look at the kind of work he does. He is very well informed, and does quality work. He and his crew were very timely and clean. They replaced the ropes that support the windows with metal chains that should keep the windows working well without maintenance, and they look great. Fred was very responsive when we had questions or concerns with some of the finished windows. Others in our condo building also decided to do the same work, and have all reported being very happy with the quality of the work, and the results. We're very happy that our condo is much warmer since the windows and back door were done by Fred. I would highly recommend him to any friends of mine. I'm sure we'll call him again when it's time to replace the storms and repair the windows in the common areas.

He was the only contractor who came out and said it was just a simple fix, but he didn't really give me an estimate. He seemed to think the problem was much smaller than I did and that it could be better fixed by someone else. I have all sorts of water damage from the storm, but he seemed to think that a painter could fix this problem. I appreciated that he wasn't trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, but I have an uneasy feeling that the problem really is much larger.

I spent $750 on the job. He appeared to be honest. He did a good job. He was timely. I was very happy with the service and the result. I feel that the clean up could have been better. It wasn?t a mess, but it wasn?t perfect. I will consider using him again in the future.

He did a great job. He was neat and prompt. He even came back ten months later to see the work. His price was a little too expensive but it was fair.

Fred is just a really really nice guy and was a pleasure to work with. He came right back to check on something we had a question about and took care of it. He also was so so patient in explaining to me how windows work and why we could save a lot of money by making sure they were properly sealed. I chose him because of his focus on the environment and conservation.
