My toilet failed late Saturday night. I called Chase and Tolan's 24 hour emergency line and asked if they could replace the toilet the next day (Sunday). The answering service said someone would get back to me the next morning. The next morning I called them and they did not seem to have any record of my original call, but said someone would call me right back and someone (I believe it was one of the owners Joe Chase maybe) did call me right back. He told asked if I could buy the toilet myself and gave me instructions for how to measure it and said as soon as I bought it that he would have his man come by.The guy showed up and installed the new toilet in about an hour. I had no idea how much they would charge for Sunday emergency service and I thought $182 was very reasonable.

They did a great job. One thing I liked most about them was that they were very responsive and finished the job quickly. They had given me an estimate and it turned out that I had to pay them less than that. I was very impressed with them. In particular I would say that what you see is what you get.

Never returned my call.

We have been using them for a long time. They are good and very professional. One man is great and the other is not too competent. They usually come back the next day with somebody else to repair whatever has been done wrongly. They charge $90 to just walk into our house. They weren’t very punctual the last time they had come over.

I find them extremely good. I was told by another plumber that I would need a whole new toilet, then someone told me about Chase and Tolan. They came very promptly when I called. They mended the whole thing without me having to buy a new one. I thought they were terrific. The people that recommended them to me also thought they were extremely good. I am going to have them replace my water heater in the future.

Once scheduled they have been prompt and responsive (for emergency service as well). They send me the same guy every time (Seth) without my even asking which I am very happy with (I like having a familiar face who in the meantime knows my system). He gets to work promptly, let's me know if he needs to turn off the water, etc., with one exception for something specialized he has all the replacement parts in his truck, and is completed, cleaned up and gone usually sooner than anticipated. For a couple of the larger jobs they sent me two guys, both highly competent. All the plumbers I have dealt with have been very helpful and take the time to thoroughly explain both the work required, the work completed and, when appropriate, the work I might want to consider at a later date. I have never been shocked or disappointment in a bill. They have never exceeded an estimate. Several times they have completed the work in less time/money.

On a previous visit Cand T had pointed out a cracked sewage pipe and said it was not urgent but should be dealt with soon. They promised to provide an estimate, which they did on the invoice for the first service. With my payment I asked them to call to schedule a visit, which they didn't do. I called several weeks later to schedule, and they offered several dates. I couldn't do the next day, a Friday, but could do the following Friday. The following morning my doorbell rang and it was 2 guys from Cand T -- somehow the wrong Friday had made it to the calendar. I felt bad but I couldn't rearrange my schedule and stay for the repair so had to send them away. They were polite and apologetic. The following week two other fellows returned -- a little late, which given the previous week's mishap caused me to call the office, but just as I hung up after speaking with someone who reassured me they were on their way, the guys showed up. They were pleasant and efficient, finishing what had been estimated at up to a 3-hour job in approximately 1.5 hours. They communicated when they had to shut off the water, etc. When they were done I took the opportunity to pick their brains about a problem I'd troubleshooted a few weeks earlier, and they were kind enough to explain what had happened, point out the pipes involved, and even check to make sure the faucets were properly turned off. I was very pleased with the service, and who can complain about it taking less time than estimated?

Work performed to high standards, and reasonably priced. Follow-up when required. Primary frustration is the answering service sometimes takes a while to get messages to them. Longer response times than I would like, but in emergency situation, they did respond quickly and efficiently.

On a Saturday I noticed signs of a big-time leak (water on floor, rugs soaked) which I tracked down to the bathroom sink next to my washing machine, which had overflowed and which pipe was still leaking. I called Cand T and left a message with their service. David Chase called 3 or 4 hours later and I described the problem. He offered me the choice of coming by that day at time and a half or waiting until Monday. I had the leak under control and felt I could wait, so he said he would call Monday morning between 7 and 8 AM to schedule a time to come by (didn't have his calendar). When 8 AM came and went I called the office and had a horrible time getting through (my only negative experience with Cand T). The first time the service put me on hold and 3 minutes later hadn't picked up again. I called back and no one picked up after about 30 rings. I called back again and got put on hold again, but this time the person came back and took my message. Someone called back several hours later (my Dad handled this as I had to go to work) and arranged to come by. He (not sure if it was David or someone else) came and fixed the leak. He said we would be billed, which we were, a very reasonable one hour for labor. He showed my Dad a major crack that was developing in a sewage pipe in the same area, and said it wasn't urgent but he recommended repair soon. If he were to do he would have to return with another person because of the size of the pipe. He noted this recommended repair on the bill and gave an estimate of repair time. When I paid the bill I asked them to call to schedule a time to return and to give me an estimate on parts. This was two weeks ago and I haven't heard back, but I will definitely follow with a call as overall I was very pleased with the service.

We have used this plumber for many things over the years and are most satisfied with both their professionalism as well as their attention to detail. They always come when they say they are and the quality of their work is excellent. I highly recommend them.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. WAS A SUB-CONTRACTOR TO OUR GENERAL CONTRACTOR, BUT WAS WILLING TO SPEAK WITH HOMEOWNER DIRECTLY. VERY RESPONSIVE AND HELPFUL. STOOD BEHIND THE WORK -- JOE TOLAN, ONE OF THE OWNERS, CAME TO OUR HOUSE ON THE WEEKEND TO ADJUST A TOILET THAT WAS NOT FLUSHING PROPERLY, AT NO CHARGE.

A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT I WOULD NOT WISH ON ANYONE.

HAVE USED THEM SINCE MR. CHASE'S FATHER OWNED THE COMPANY, AND I'VE BEEN CONSISTENTLY PLEASED WITH THEIR QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM. WOULDN'T CALL ANYONE ELSE.
