Perfect job. Would hire again.

It started out fine but then went downhill. We have an exterior door with a three-point lock mechanism, and it jammed and stopped working. We called Alden (on the basis of the Angie's List reviews!) and they sent their guy that same day. He diagnosed the issue but needed to order a special part before he could fix it, so he got the door closed and locked, billed us $95 for the visit, and told us that we would just have to use our other doors into and out of the house for the time being, which was all fine with us. He was courteous and we were happy to have them order the part and finish the job after it arrived (he estimated it would be a couple of weeks, and said that they would keep us posted). So far so good. But then two weeks went by and we heard nothing, so we called. We were told that they would call us back within a day to let us know where things stood with the order. After two days, there had been no call-back, so we called again. This time it was "only the boss can check that information and he's gone until tomorrow -- we will let you know." Then nothing for two days. We called again. "I asked him to call you -- so sorry he hasn't done that yet." Two days later we called back yet again (by now, about three weeks after their initial work on our door). This time we were informed that the part had NEVER EVEN BEEN ORDERED. So we told them to forget the whole thing and we would find someone else. All in all, dealing with them became a very frustrating experience, which we will certainly not repeat.

I called Alden about 9:00 a.m. to have the locks of a rental unit re-keyed. They gave me a very fair quote and said that someone could be at the house within an hour. ($85 for the visit which includes the first 30 minutes, $85/hour after that prorated, $15 per re-keyed lock, and $2/key). They arrived within that time frame and completed the work within a half hour. Would definitely do business again.

They are just wonderful. They came right away and told me that I didnt have to change the whole lock and could just do the cylinder. I was very happy with the services.

The lock completely broke. I called the company and the person who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful and let me speak directly to the technician. The same technician came within less than an hour of my calling and fixed the lock very quickly. He also took time to explain to me some of the mechanics of my garage door and how it works. I would definitely use this provider again and highly recommend them.

The locksmith came and the first time he worked in my unit, he was very friendly and helpful. The second time he seemed more brusque - perhaps harried - but he did exactly what I needed. I had an appointment in the morning and the office called to ask me to change it as they were understaffed that day; that was a little inconvenient, but I very much appreciated the notification. The woman in the office was lovely on the phone.

They were very courteous. Their store is very impressive/ Everything was satisfactory.

After reaching a couple of sketchy-sounding services, I found Alden Lock and Security when I was locked out of my house one evening last week. Alden was prompt (10 minutes), courteous, and the technician/owner clearly knew what he was doing. The price for jimmying the lock was $130. At first it seemed a little high, but it was well worth it for the great service and happy result.

Alden Lock did an outstanding job. Very professional, punctual and knowledgeable. Clay only recommended the work that was required and performed it at a very reasonable rate. I will hire Alden Lock for all my lock and security needs and recommend them to anyone who needs a locksmith.

We have used Alden Lock on a number of occasions, for our own home as well as some rental units. They are very responsive, willing to find solutions that aren't initially obvious and completely trustworthy.

They were very accommodating in scheduling this work around my schedule and that of my tenants. They were very neat in cleaning up all the shavings, etc. from cutting holes in the doors. Very pleasant workers.

WE HAD AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. THE LOCKSMITH ARRIVED ON TIME AND ACCOMPLISHED A GREAT DEAL IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. WHEN HE CHANGED THE LOCKS, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE CONTRACTOR WHO HAD INSTALLED THE DEAD-BOLT LOCKS HAD TAKEN A SHORTCUT BY USING FEWER PINS THAN IS TYPICALLY RECOMMENDED. THE LOCKSMITH CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM BY ADDING PINS TO THE FOUR DEAD-BOLT LOCKS. HE ALSO PUT ALL OF THE LOCKS ON ONE KEY -- A BIG IMPROVEMENT!

I CALLED THEM THE DAY AFTER WE MOVED INTO OUR HOUSE, AND THEY CAME OUT THAT DAY, CHANGED THE LOCKS, CUT NEW KEYS, CREATED A KEY FOR A LOCK THAT HAD NO KEY. VERY PROMPT, POLITE, EFFICIENT, NEEDED NO SUPERVISION: I WILL HIRE THEM AGAIN.

EXCELLENT RESPONSE AND SERVICE. THEY HAVE AN ANSWERING SERVICE, AND MY CALL WAS RETURNED VERY QUICKLY. THE LOCKSMITH WAS VERY THOROUGH AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY QUICK. HE WAS ABLE TO DO ALL THE WORK I WANTED AND GOT BACK TO ME FAST WITH INFORMATION ON ANOTHER QUESTION I HAD. I WAS VERY PLEASED.

WE CALLED, THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND ARRANGED AN APPOINTMENT THE FOLLOWING DAY. WORKMAN CAME, WAS POLITE AND QUICKLY SAW THE PROBLEM. SERVICE PROVIDED WAS VERY GOOD. HE WAS PLEASANT, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FAST.
