Exceedingly well. Abe's crew were professionals of the highest degree. The quality of the work was excellent, the speed was good (painting is a slow process; our 2200sq ft colonial took about 2 weeks start to finish, which is fast for a good painting job). What I really liked was that the crew went over and above. They painted my railings, even though that wasn't discussed as part of the job. My neighbor was surprised at how clean the scraping job was--he didn't have any paint flecks on his property and I had very little. In short--trustworthy crew, amazing work, and a very very happy customer.

The company was responsive, quick and provided me a very prompt and detailed estimate for the job. We did not choose them, however, because they were about 250% more than the rest of the bidders.

Just as advertised. Pro from start to finish. Quote is extensive and thorough, contact is strong and the crew was quick and unobtrusive. Always put things away neatly each evening. A very well run, mature operation. We will use them again, absolutely.

Although Abe was courteous and thorough in his explanation of the job, we chose another painter due to the fact that his estimate was the highest of the 5 we met along with the most limited in terms of what he would provide for the price. ($12,800.00)

Abe Schickel & his crew were an excellent choice for this project and did a wonderful job. The transformation from before to after was amazing and really improved living in this space. Abe kept me informed as to progress by the crew. The team arrived on-time and were very meticulous in ensuring that the carpets and floors both in the unit and entry-way were kept clean. Had I known that this project would be so stress-free and easy, I would have got the painting door ages ago. Really great experience.

Abe is the best. He returned my call promptly. Arranged a meeting for my convenience since I am out of town and maintaining my mother's property in Cambridge. He had a thorough and accurate estimate and made many helpful suggestions along the way for me to either say yes or no without any pressure. I felt confident in his judgment and was rewarded by a great job. He also took on the task of finding a plasterer and electrician to do some work along the way which was a huge help since I had few of my own resources to find those people on short notice. All in all a great experience and highly recommend his services.

We found Abe via Angie's List, among other references, and chose Abe because of the good ratings and professionalism of the estimate. Crew worked fast and neatly. We are very pleased with our new paint job. --6 months after the paint job, we noticed some of the paint on the doors was cracking, revealing the old color underneath. Concerned, we called Abe. He said he would check it out when he was in the area, and we were in no hurry. Several weeks later he stopped by, saw the problem, and arranged for the problem spots on the doors to be sanded and redone. He reminded us that a semi-gloss might have been a better choice for the doors. We feel this was resolved well.

Although we could not start when we would have preferred, and some of the work was being done while the movers were moving in our belongs, the team worked hard to make that work. We have a small problem with some paint that has peeled off when a loose towel holder became loose. But the magnitude of the overall job makes this a small thing. We are pleased.

When the work was completed, Abe wasn't satisfied with the job so he had his workers do it again. He takes pride in his work.

The team finished all the work over a series of 3 days and it all came out beautifully. They were very good about cleaning up at the end of each day and doing everything they could to make sure that the project did not prevent our use of the house (the kitchen is pretty central to our house's layout). The ScreenGoo was a new type of project for their company, but they pulled it off perfectly. We would happily use Abe's services again.

Very good experience. Abe was very thorough in writing up the estimate. He asked many questions to make sure that the work would be exactly what I wanted. He took his time and made sure that we both agreed on all of the details - where more priming/scraping had to be done, how many coats, what type of paint and finish, etc. He did not do the work personally, but has his own employees who did the job after receiving detailed very instructions from him. The two painters he had do the work for me were very courteous, quiet, clean, hard-working and easy to communicate with. They were a pleasure to have in the house and did the work exactly as expected. Abe made sure to check with me that the work was going well, and that it had been completed to my satisfaction. He also was kind enough to answer questions I had on an unrelated matter, and which I needed help with. Very nice man, very fair, good company overall!

Mr. Schickel returned my call within a few days after I left the message. He is very organized and sent me the quote with all the information, such as insurance certificate, references, etc. soon after he came to do the estimate. Once I decided, he was able to schedule the date in a week. The workers are courteous, neat and did a very good job.

On time for all appointments. Abe spent a lot of time talking with us to get the work in our budget and in our time frame. When they showed up, Abe was a stickler for making sure the workmen knew exactly how the work was to be done and added a little of extra work at no charge so it would look neat and professional. They were so precise with their clean up.

Everything came out great and we are very pleased. We will definitely use Abe again as we try to bring our old house back into shape! Abe did give us a discount on the price because he had indicated when he did our previous job that he priced his work lower during the winter months to keep his men working. However, he said he really wasn't doing that any longer but would honor his word since that was what he had originally told us (thanks Abe!).

His employee was prompt, neat, and polite. The ceiling looks great and I'm completely satisfied with the plastering and the overall paint job. Abe showed up the first day to check on things. He also gave us the advertised Angie's List discount off the estimate which is a nice extra.

If I used them again, I would make it clear that I expected a little more clean up. He was prompt and understood what I needed, even when it wasn't typical requests.

Overall I had a terrific experience with Abe Schickle and his painting team. I placed only 1 call to his office to ask about his interior paint services and was immediately able to schedule an appointment for Abe to come over and survey the work and provide an estimate. I was working under a time constraint that would require the work to be completed over Thanksgiving weekend while I was away. Not only did his team of 3 men come in and complete the work in a single day right after the holiday, but they did a terrific job, exceeding my expectations. I found that Abe's concern for not only getting the job done right but also for safety and health (fumes, dust and window security) were above and beyond. Given that I am pregnant, I appreciated his concern over ensuring minimal dust and how best to store items while work was being done, etc. His estimate was exactly the cost of the project. I would definitely hire his team again.

When Abe came to give me an estimate of work to be done, he carefully noticed all areas that needed attention. He was willing to wait until the carpentry work was done. He gave me the name of a good carpenter, Mr. Morrissey. Once the work began, the crew did a great job. They started early in the morning and worked diligently and carefully. They were very pleasant and courteous. Each worker seemed to enjoy what he was doing and took pride in the job he was doing. They completed the work in three days. They did an excellent clean up all around the house and even cleared the driveway of leaves. They volunteered to do a few extra little jobs including installing a flood light for me. What a super crew of workers! I am very pleased with the job.

He is wonderful. He is honest and is insured and insures his employees. Really smart and reliable. He is generous. His prices are very competitive.

I had three contractors come out to give and estimate on painting the house. Abe Schickel's projected cost was the lowest, but that is not why I hired him for the job. It was his professionalism and knowledge of how to paint an asbestos sided house that won my confidence. It was definitely the right decision. The house looks fabulous. The cost went up only because I decided to add work to the job. The crew cleaned up every night and worked so quietly. I would highly recommend Abe to all.

His work was very satisfactory. The exterior job was painless, but we had some problems with punctuality on the interior job.

He presented a professional proposal. That and all interactions indicated high standards and strong professionalism. We went with another company based on cost.
