I have noticed he has done a lot of work in my neighborhood. He did not feel that he could do the exterior work that I needed though. There was also some interior painting that I wanted done, so he gave us a quote on that. Unfortunately, I was really looking for the exterior painting to get done. There wasn't anything bad that they had done. Their price was a little on the high side also.

They were neat and clean. Everything they did was fine except for the windows. I had recently put in new Pella windows. I got an owner's manual with it. I didn?t take the time to read it. I did not know that you can not use razor on them to remove paint. I called Abe and he came over several times. There was no sticker on the window telling me this about the windows. I didn?t give him the manual. He didn?t have any instructions. I asked him to file an insurance claim. He hasn?t done anything or reimbursed me for anything. I do think a professional painter ought to know about the windows that are out there. I was disappointed. The quality was great except for the windows

well done, simply had to have one touch up due to misunderstanding and it was performed as requested with no hassle.

We really enjoyed working with Abe Schickel and his team. Mr. Schickel came to look at our kitchen in order to give us an estimate. It took a couple of days for the estimate but that was only because instead of sending an email he actually sent a large envelope with the proposal and other helpful information. One day before our starting date Abe Schickel called to confirm date and time. Even though it was Boston Marathon and a lot of streets were closed Mr. Schickel and his team arrived on time. The whole project took two days. His team was very good about cleaning up after the first day so that I could use the kitchen for dinner and breakfast. We would definately hire the company again.

They were very good and the work was of good quality. They were a bit pricy but it was worth the money. They did excellent work and were very professional.

The process of scheduling the inspection and getting the estimate was all conducted in a very professional manner. Abe seems to be very well organized and enthusiastic. The estimate package was very well detailed and included an owner to do checklist prior to the start of painting. We ultimately chose another painter based on cost considerations.

Abe and his crew worked over the weekend to accomodate our schedule, since we needed to be out of town due to having kids and the mess from skim coating. They were professional, courteous and did a great job. Plus, they were very reliable and I didn't have to worry about leaving my house with them.

We LOVE Abe and his crew! With less than three weeks before our house needed to go on the market, we discovered that every wall needed to be painted due to soot from a furnace puff-back. On short notice, Abe was able to meet with me to go over the work required and part of his crew started our job two days later, with additional people joining the next week. The crew was very accommodating of our needs, switching their focus to different areas of the house as our needs dictated. As far as the actual painting goes, Abe pays great attention to prepping surfaces and nail holes big and small were perfectly patched and sanded, making them undetectable in the final product. Also, our house is full of richly colored walls abutting white trim. But there is nary a sloppy, wiggly line in the entire house. Any small defects that I noted after a room was finished were promptly and cheerfully taken care of--the true sign of a company with integrity. Despite the short time frame, Abe's crew was able to complete the job in time for our realtor pictures and first open house. Fortunately, the exterior looked great, too, as Abe painted the outside of the house last summer. We have been very happy with Abe and his team over the past five years, and his crew seems happy, too, as we have seen many of the same faces over and over again. I highly recommend Abe Schickel!

We tried to work with him twice. I had heard good things about him, but his price was just too high. He was pleasant and tried to give me the best price he could. He provided me with a beautiful, thorough estimate.

He was very professional, and there was nothing about him that struck me badly. I used someone else because their proposal was more detailed.

Even though they didn't do any work, I was impressed enough to provide a rating because: Based on his assessment of my house's condition, he said it needed to be sanded/grinded, which his company doesn't do, or else the paint job just wouldn't last. I would have been painting again in 2 yrs. Thank you for not taking my money and doing a job that you knew wasn't really what my house needed.

Even though Abe's company didn't do work with us, his professionalism merited this report. He saw the deck and told us we'd be better off lightly sanding it and letting the mahogany age instead of trying to put a finish on it instead of having him do it because roof decks get beaten up a lot. I've never had someone give that kind of honest opinion about it instead of trying to make the sale. Put your trust in Honest Abe :-)

Great. The house look perfect when we got home from a vacation. They were very meticulous about painting around cabinets, etc. They cleaned up great. Thank you so much!

Abe was one of the few painters that returned my call for an initial estimate. When he was going to be a few minutes late for the estimate appointment, he called to let me know, which I appreciated. He walked thru my townhouse and pointed out areas that he would need to do extra work. My ceilings were in good shape, which he said and didn't try pushing me to have those painted. I asked about the crews that work for him, and most of the painters had been with him for at least 5 years. When the painting started, Abe walked thru the townhouse again with the crew pointing out areas to pay special attention to. Also, I have a weird duct in my bedroom and he worked out a way to have that painted (it looks great). The two workers on my crew showed up on time every day, completed the project on time and cleaned up after themselves. I wouldn't have even known there was painting going on other than the drop cloths. There wasn't as much disruption as I expected and it only took them 3 days. It was a great experience, I would use them again and I would recommend Abe to my friends.

Abe is one of the most professional painters I?ve ever worked with. He is a remarkable honest guy, he uses great materials, his team is absolutely trustworthy and responsible, and they leave the place cleaner than they found it. I can?t say enough nice things about him.

He was very nice, professional, meticulous and friendly. He positions his company as a very high end, quality driven painting company. I appreciated his professionalism, but I did get another quote that was a better price.

Excellent job. They took a little time to return phone calls but otherwise were very punctual. Price was the lowest of all the bids from larger operations (rather than single-person operation) we considered. Did not try to sell me things I didn't need. Ronny did the painting and he was punctual, professional, thorough and friendly. We are very happy with the job and recommend them highly.

He didn't want to do certain things that I wanted. He said that he was the professional and he knew how to do it. He said that I didn't need multiple coats. He said that he just had to clean and do one coat. I wasn't happy with that. I had the painters that I spoke with give me references. He was fine but I didn't need him not to do what I wanted. I didn't think he was going to be easy to work with. He did come out when he said he would.

When I contacted him, Abe came promptly to discuss and assess the work and followed up with a detailed estimate in the mail within a few days. The crew was able to start earlier than the estimated date and at the start of the job Abe walked them through the work, explaining how certain unusual things were to be handled. The crew worked full days, getting the job done with a minimum of mess and disruption. They were pleasant to have around. When I contacted him with a few questions during the work, Abe was reachable or returned my calls promptly. The painting looks great. Abe's was neither the lowest nor the highest quote we received for the work, but his estimate was very detailed and there were no surprises. The price we were quoted is the price we paid.

Great experience. Abe and his team were great. Abe was prompt for the estimate appointment and sent a detailed estimate in a few days (worth waiting for!). We scheduled the work right away. He and his team came on the first day of work and walked through each room and talked through how we wanted it done. We hadn't yet picked a color for one room (weren't expecting him to be able to start so soon), and he worked around that room till the next day. We lived in the place for all three days of the job, and they did an excellent job cleaning up each night and after the end of the job. Overall they did a very good job in all three rooms and were great to work with, and we felt good about the price. Would recommend highly.
