He was excellent. He was very detail oriented. He manages his team efficiently. His team was friendly and professional. His team always showed up on time and were respectful of my home. Whenever there was a change in price or additional work needed, he always advised me about it.

Could not have been better. The crew was great, worked long hours and tried to make it as less disruptive for me as possible. They started in the living room and hall, kitchen was next, and they finished with the two bedrooms. I was very pleased... and would give an A+ rating if it was possible to do so.

Abe came himself to give an estimate and followed up with a detailed quote and lots of supporting material. He came on the first day of the project and gave me a quote on the spot for a few extra items. We dealt with him directly on the details of the project and he was easy to get a hold of by phone. His workers completed the work on schedule as estimated, with a tight deadline. The quality of the painting seems very good, with straight lines and no noticeable drips. There was one wall where a temporary switch faceplate had been reattached, marring the paint, and he sent someone over to repaint the wall free of charge the next day -- nice customer service. We did ask them not to use red rosin paper on our new hardwood floors, and they did, which caused some staining of the floor when it got wet. (Note to anyone with wood floors -- always use brown builder paper and never that red rosin stuff that painters seem to like!). I'm sure it's not the cheapest option for interior painting, but Abe Schickel seemed like a pretty professional operation to us.

Abe and his team were fantastic. They were very patient with us picking paint for the first time, and they managed to come in on time. In addition, when the ceiling was painted in my daughter's room I realized I didn't like it. Without an additional fee, they made the change. They were amazing and they were very professional, and I would recommend them to anyone. We are scheduling work on our exterior this fall, and Abe will be the first call we make.

They did an excellent job, and very clean. They worked with the carpet providers so that they could paint the base boards and not ruin the rugs. Referred us to a great home decorator. .

Excellent, Abe was prompt and curteous, arrived exactly when he said he would, gave a fair estimate and was very easy to communicate with. His employees were friendly and arrived promptly as well, were clean and professional and finished within 2 days. The job was meticulous, and the entire process showed how detail oriented both Abe and his employees are. I would definitely hire them again for future projects and will be recommending Abe to my friends.

Abe and his team did a great job, and were very easy to work with. The price was a bit more than I was quoted by other painters, but Abe came highly recommended here on Angie's list so we decided it was worth the extra money for the reassurance of a job well done. We were not disappointed. The roof rails involved painting of some moderately complex decorative wooden elements, and that didn't seem to pose any problem. I would highly recommend Abe to others, and we intend to call upon him again next year for additional assistance when we embark on a new home renovation project.

Working with Abe an his team was a truly enjoyable experience. Prior to starting the painting, Abe recommended a terrific carpenter to replace some rotten wood on our porch railing before the painting was done. We replaced the rotten wood and then when Abe came out to do a walk-through with the head painter who would be working on the house (a lovely man named Washington), Abe was extremely thorough and made sure that he and Washington fully understood what I was looking for. The painters worked long days (7am to 6pm) and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Given my concerns about the lead paint, the painters were extremely careful about covering up windows and placing drop-cloths and the using a hepa-vacuum each day to clean up. I felt that they understood and respected my concerns, and I felt confident at day's end that they had done everything in their power to contain any dust and paint. Abe's team was professional and they were a pleasure to work with. The two painters were very kind and patient with my very interested 3 year old son, who watched them obsessively through the windows as they scraped, and peppered them with questions when they were painting. I added a little extra work - painting the porch floor and adding some accents to the front porch columns - and the scraping dislodged more paint than originally expected, so the actual cost ended up being higher than the original quote. But I felt that Abe and Washington let me know as soon as they realized the costs would be higher than the quote, and I felt in the end there were no surprises.

Abe was very responsive both with his estimates and the painting. His crew did the work but he checked in to make sure they were doing the job properly. They were neat, and the house looks great. I would use them again.

We have used them many times. They quality of their work is excellent. Their people are amazing. Their prices are very reasonable.

We have used a lot of painters and Abe is the best. He personally comes by when the job is finished to inspect the result. If something is not up to quality of him after the end result, he refinishes the work.

Overall, we were very pleased with the work done but even more pleased with the professionalism of the owner and the painting crew. Our concerns were listened to, excellent suggestions were made and the job was completed promptly -even ahead of time. This was a very pleasant experience overall; if we are ever in need of professional painiting in the future, we will immediately contact him and not anyone else.

Everything turned out great. It was a genuine pleasure to work with this company. They are prompt and professional. The overall quality of work is spectacular. I couldn’t have been happier with this company. I would recommend this company to anyone and would use again.

Getting the estimate was easy, but the price was too high for me.

We are not using them because we decided to go with a painter that we had used before that was slightly less. We were looking at real expensive people for an expensive job. They were excellent. There was nothing they could have improved upon. The quality of their bid was amazing and the amount of detail was incredible. He spent a lot of time here and he was extraordinary. Had we not been so familiar with the other guy we would have hired him in a minute. He was excellent. He was wonderful to deal with and it was probably the most detailed and outlined estimate we've ever dealt with. We only have positive things to say about them. We would absolutely get another bid from them.

His price was very good. He answered all the questions. He was great. He is very professional, yet he will sit down and talk to me. He will go around the house and if he sees any problems, he will let me know before he starts the job. He said he would send an estimate in 3 days and we got it in 3 days. He did follow up to see if we had any questions. If we decided not to go with siding we would have picked him as the painter. He came in a timely manner. Once he came in and talked to me, I felt like he is the one that I would want.

Wow. Abe came for our quote, and listened to what we hoped to accomplish, and made a few suggestions. His level of detail was astounding. Since we wanted to have molding installed, he even provided the name and phone number of an excellent carpenter (who completed the work to sync with the painting job). I got the quote via email the next day, and in the mail came his license, insurance and references...pages of them). We had gotten higher quotes and lower ones, but felt comfortable with his professionalism, so went with his company. On the day they began, Abe came and went over each detail (Do these nails stay or go? What about this alarm? Spackel all the other nail holes?). He provided me with his cell phone if I had any questions. When I returned home that day from work, all of the furniture was gathered and covered with plastic, and the area outside of where they were working was unaffected. At the end of the job, the house looked gorgeous! The moldings were beautiful, and there was not a drop of paint where it should not be. All the furniture was put back the way it was, and the floors were clean. I was so impressed. They were very nice to my two dogs and my teen children, and swore they didn't get in the way.

Abe, the owner, came and did the initial consultation. He rapidly returned a very professional proposal. I was very impressed with his demeanor, his professional attitude and promptness. His crew was polite, prompt and clean. They painted the kitchen ceiling and walls. Every wall and ceiling looks perfect. They did a wonderful job. We liked them so much that we had them come back again and do three more rooms and a hallway. It was a perfect job both times. We would use Abe again in a heartbeat.

After showing up late, he said that he wasn't interested in the job. They do a power wash and a little scraping but weren't willing to do more than that. It just wasn't going to be quality work and he said that we should find someone else who was willing to put more into the job. I guess that we should be grateful that he didn't waste more of our time, but I was not impressed with the level of service that they were willing to provide.

I didn't hire Mr. Schickel to do the job, I ended up doing all the prep work on my home myself with the assistance of a family member in an attempt to save thousands of dollars.

Things have gone extremely well from promptness of response to fininshed project.
