crew worked around the clock to install subfloor and then the harwood floor (living, kitchen, and upstairs). the wood staircase came out absolutely beautiful. reinstalled baseboards.

From start to end everynting went very well. He was very professional from pricing to all the way completing the job.

Tao impressed us from beginning to end with his work to refinish the floors in our home. He arrived on time for the estimate appointment, worked quickly to evaluate the job, and provided us with a printed estimate on the spot. We coordinated many contractors between closing and move-in, and Taozen was the only one that started on the day requested and finished on time as promised. His price was reasonable and the work was done well. We are very happy that we chose to refinish our floors before moving in and that we chose Taozen to do the work.

I wanted to get the floors refinished in my new house before moving in, and the schedule was extremely tight. Tao came out on short notice, gave me a quote, and said that he could get the work started in several days. I wanted to get quotes on several scopes of work (downstairs only, whole house), and Tao was a bit pushy about getting the whole thing done. I had another quote that was significantly lower, but I noticed that the other refinisher was only quoting to do 2 coats rather than the industry standard of 3. I asked Tao to do the whole house, and he came when he said he would and did and excellent job.

Tao suggested a satin finish on our floors which looks absolutely beautiful in our sunlit rooms. The floors look great, and we got compliments on the floors from the other contractors we were interviewing for other jobs in our home.

The work that Taozen flooring did for us was impeccable.. The house was transformed. I wanted an old, in place floor to be merged into a new installation, and it was done seamlessley.. Every room in the house looks better.

The results were outstanding. We were very happy with the finish, the stain color, and the uniformity of the results, given that there were several types of wood used in an open floor plan. It all looks perfectly unified now. The clean-up was thorough, with no dust remaining. Walls were protected, etc. When we first contacted the company, the owner came out right away, gave us an estimate, and we were able to schedule the work over a long weekend. He contacted a moving company to move our furniture into other rooms while the work was being done. Everything proceeded very smoothly. The cost was very reasonable, especially since some of the rooms were quite large. We are extremely satisfied with the results.

I called Tao and he was able to come next day for appraisal. He is friendly, professional and willing to answer questions in detail. Tao and his crew did a great job polished the floor and cleaned up the debris, will highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have the job done.

It was a spectacular job. We have big windows so any flaws or excess varnish etc would be really visible. And we found none. A terrific job done at a great price.

Amazing! I could not be happier with the service provided by Tao and his crew. From initial contact to finished installation, everything was done to perfection. My house is nearly 200 years old with creaky damaged floors throughout. I was willing to put up with a complete demo to get it right. I didn't have to. Tao surveyed the property and advised me to go over the old floors rather than rip them out. He cited a variety of reasons and possible problems including a bigger cost. He was so right. Not only did I save money, but the old floors are fine as sturdy subflooring. It impressed me that Tao actually saved me money and headache. Tao's crew is beyond professional. They are skilled craftsmen who take pride in their work. They showed up on time, put in a full day and treated my house and things with respect. I was comfortable leaving them in the house while I was at work. In fact my cousin dropped by during the day and commented on how beautiful the work was and how diligently the crew was working. This has been my very best experience with work at my home. It took us more than a week to begin to put the furniture back, we so wanted to enjoy the floors. Our family spent more than a little time just running around in our stocking feet. We actually wondered if we should even have furniture again! I would hire Tao and his folks again in a heartbeat. So happy!

No showed our scheduled appointment for an estimate. No call, email, or text

I was very pleased with this entire project. Tao and the team were professional, responsive, and personable. He managed my expectations for timing very well too. The estimate: My partner and I just bought a house together, and we wanted to have the floors refinished RIGHT AWAY, immediately after we closed on the house. I asked a several different companies for blind estimates because I didn't think I'd be able to get into the house before the final closing. I did get one estimate from another company, basically saying how much they would charge per square foot. Then I spoke with Tao, who encouraged me to ask my real-estate agent to arrange for more viewings. He said, "You need to get your rep to work for you. You should get several bids. Your goal is to save money and get quality work." He also told me how much Taozen typically charges per square foot, for floors and for stairs. He was just under the other guy. I did get Tao in before the closing, and he gave me some good advice about what needed to be done. His crew was most available in our time frame, so I contracted for the work. He said the job would take a week and we should stay off the floors for at least a day after that. The revision: While waiting for our closing date, we realized there was another piece of floor that we wanted to have fixed/patched. I called Tao just the day before our closing and asked him what he thought. I sent him some pictures, and he gave me a quote that I liked. The first day: We closed on Thursday, and I planned to meet him and his crew on Friday. Tao came to meet me, but instead of getting started right away, he said we should talk over that additional patch first. He explained and drew out exactly what the would do to fix the issue. This was good, because it wasn't exactly what I had thought initially. I felt like we left that meeting with very clear expectations, so even though the work didn't start right away, that meeting was worth the time. The work: The crew worked long into the evening on their first day so that they could have the entire place sanded out and first coated. It was hot and humid, so I was really grateful. Then we waited a couple of days for the first coat to dry thoroughly. The humidity did make a difference in the wait. I started getting antsy, so I texted with Tao, and he assured me that they would absolutely be done by Friday. The close: On Thursday evening, Tao texted me to say that the final coat had been applied. I knew it has been a possibility that they'd be done before Friday, but again, the realistic expectations allowed me to be patient and plan my next projects reasonably. The floors: Oh, they're so pretty! I love them so. Thank you, Tao and thanks to your crew!!

Gave good advice then installed new flooring on time and did a beautiful job.

I'm wonder how this company got such good reviews? I'm not sure they even exist. Their 800 number doesn't work, no one answers the phone or returns messages. I prefer to work with companies who want my business so I will go elsewhere.

Whole project went well. The floors turned out beautifully and the team cleaned up the sawdust from sanding really, really well. I was tremendously pleased with the results and would recommend Taozen Flooring to anyone looking to have floors refinished or relaid - they did a great job with all parts of this project.

Tao had great ideas and suggestions for removing some tiles and improving the flow of the flooring in the home. He also advised us to go with the newer look of 3 3/4" Adirondack oak flooring, and it is gorgeous. His installation crew worked fast, they were true to their schedule and they did excellent quality work. Tao is a sheer pleasure to work with and customer satisfaction is a top priority to for. He wouldn't even let us mail the final check to him - he wanted to pick it up and talk about our floors and make sure we were satisfied. One time he was running late on a previous job and even had the courtesy to call and let us know! I think the only area I would suggest to improve is that he had to install a threshold where the wood flooring met the existing tile - this was a unexpected to us, still looks just fine, it's just that I might have preferred to discuss it before the threshold was installed, simply because I might have changed my mind and asked him to take our the tile. But Tao offered to do that if ever I decide I want to and that is all I needed to hear, even though I'll never change it. There is no harm done and we are happy with the entire job. It looks gorgeous. We recommend Tao hands down. Don't hesitate to hire him. He is awesome. you will be very pleased with his work and the interactions you have with him.

Although in the end I didn't wind up getting the work done I was still completely satisfied with my interaction with the owner.

Still waiting for the estimate I was promised.. Apparently my job of 450 sq feet wasn't worth his time.. His "minimum" is 800 sq feet..

Tao was extremely helpful and professional during the entire time we worked with him, and managed his staff well. He gave us great advice on refinishing our existing hardwood floors to match the newly installed hardwood floors in the other rooms. He kept on his schedule and completed the job within the set time-frame (which allowed us to be able to coordinate with our other contractors). Our floors look beautiful and it's impossible to tell what floors are new versus which ones were refinished.

He made helpful suggestions and we were not charged for the visit.

We hired Taozen Flooring for replacing our damaged floors due to ice dam damage from this past winter. We had used Taozen before when we moved into our new house and since they had done such a great job in refinishing the existing hardwood floors and adding and perfectly matching new hardwood to old hardwood, we decided to hire them again. We are so happy that we did. First of all, Tao is very personable and knowledgeable. We had issues regarding our subflooring due to an addition which was added to the house 20 years ago. He was able to pinpoint exactly where the problem would be and recommended different solutions. Once hired, his workers were punctual, respectful and hard working. We even received a credit for the hardwood not used. We would definitely recommend Taozen Flooring.

Everything went very well. Because of the age of our house, the floors were not very even and throughout there are areas where the floors slope a bit, not being an expert at flooring, I'm not sure if there was more that could be done to even out the floors a bit more but overall we are happy with the final result.

Tao was great. We only had a small time frame to have him come by our new home and he was able to measure the areas and give us a quote that day. The price was very reasonable. They started and finished work exactly when he said they would. We were very satisfied with the results and will use Tao in the future.
