Taozen Flooring provided exceptional value end-to-end. First, Tao has great taste and helped me through the decision process of finding the just-right wood grain and color for our home. Beyond that, he made recommendations on updating the look of our home and gave me ideas I would have never thought of. Second, we had overlooked the fact that we'd need to move and store our furniture so that the hardwood could be installed. Tao referred us to a small firm in his network who were reasonably priced and scheduled quickly. He also referred us to a painting company that he works with, which also did a fabulous job for us. Third, the team of people he employs were all courteous, hardworking, dependable and trustworthy. They showed up on time every morning, took care to clean up every day, and stayed on task. Finally, the attention to detail and quality was top notch. Tao cared about little details that I never thought of - that the abutting bathroom floor projected more than normal so the hardwood should be laid a certain way, or the specific shade of stain for the refinished floor. We were new to hardwood floors and so didn't fully grasp what was entailed in the process - the moving out of furniture for a week, the protective sheeting put up that would restrict access in the kitchen, the noise of demolition and the general disruption. It would be helpful if Tao could provide his clients a handout on what to expect during the process so that there is clear communication, as well as recommended care. Regardless, our floors were installed with high quality and are beautiful to behold. Would definitely recommend Taozen Flooring.

TAOZEN FLOORING WAS AMAZING IN EVERY WAY!! From my first call with Tao, during which I explained I was from a different state, he put me at ease. He explained that it all cold be done online and this gave me confidence. He toured my condo within two days, suggested type of flooring, type of wood to best match the built in cabinets. He also suggested (IN THE SAME PRICE RANGE) a different approach based on what he believed to be current buyer/renter trends in that area. This is important to me. Tao did not try to upgrade my choices by suggesting an alternative. This is when I knew he was the perfect contractor for me. He came, he did amazing work, even needing to "level out" a faulty area where the previous contractor added a higher level for the kitchen area. He did not charge extra for this because he had noticed it during the estimate phase! He completed the work on time, even earlier than expected! The floors look amazing, absolutely amazing and I know this helped increase the value of my condo. I am suggesting Tao Flooring to all my friends in the area!!

Tao was very friendly throughout project, offered advice on floor choice and design based on experience. Tao's team worked quickly and quietly in a very respectful and friendly way. Demo done in 1.5 days and flooring installation completed within 3 days. When I had questions, Tao was very responsive via phone and text. No unforeseen circumstances and delivered exactly what I expected. I will definitely work with his team again.

Tao's team did an excellent job refinishing our wood floors. Tao was able to come by quickly for an estimate and also have his team get started on it quickly to accommodate our schedule. The floors were fresh and beautiful after they were done, and very clean, no dust.

Tao was very responsive by phone and email and was able to work with our rather rigid timeline. He was professional and the quality of his work was impressive, our floors look beautiful!

Tao came out right away to talk, show me samples, and measure. We signed a contract and work began, albeit more slowly than we had discussed. They had to rip up all the laminate from each floor and the carpet from the stairs and landings. They then created hardwood stairs and landings and laid the hardwood floors. The project was supposed to take 1.5 weeks but due to other projects, the actual work took almost three weeks. Tao refunded part of the fee due to the delay. Tao and his workers were easy to talk to; they all kept me informed what was happening. The price was on par with the other quotes I got. Taozen helped us enjoy our new condo with beautiful floors!

I was very pleased with the services of Taozen flooring. Everything went smoothly as planned and there were no surprises in terms of the quality of work. Tao was very professional. I got quotes from two other places ( one local and another big chain hardware store) and not only was Tao's quote better than both the quality of workmanship and material was high.

Was having a difficult time getting any of the big box stores to come out and give me a quote, so i called Tao (the owner). He was actually able to get to me a day or two later for measurements. I explained my situation to him, in that i had just closed on the condo and needed the floors installed asap before i could move in. He said he'd do his best to accommodate me and was able to get them delivered and installed within two weeks. His team actually worked all 4th of July weekend for me. I did not see the floors until they were done, but WOW. Great craftsmanship, and i'm extremely happy with how they look. A lot of attention to the little details like around the doors and closets. Would absolutely use them again.

The team did a great job. The new hardwood floor looks really beautiful. Price is very reasonable. They also gave a lot of professional suggestions.

It was a pleasure working with him and his team. Great communication throughout the project which is key. Tao is very knowledgeable and helped us select stain colors, finishes etc. He finished the job within the time frame and budget that we were quoted. I would definitely hire him again and have no reservations recommending him. The final product is fantastic.

We have a large section of flooring that needs to be refinished or possibly replaced due to severe ripples and waves sanded into the flooring. Our kitchen was gutted prior to installing the new flooring. We're now looking at two months to get another contractor scheduled to do the job right and then reschedule our kitchen installation. A job that was supposed to take one week took three weeks for multiple attempts and failure. I deeply regret not using another contractor and now we're stuck dealing with the mess.

I would highly recommend Taozen Flooring! Tao was great to work with, he made recommendations that were spot on and also gave suggestions to save money. This is probably the best refinishing work I have experienced.

Taozen services did a beautiful job, we could not have hoped for the job to have come out better. The attention to detail was impeccable. The crew was professional, prompt, and courteous. Tao was very responsive and helpful. We have and will continue to recommend Taozen services. We were extremely happy with the outcome.

While the provider was professional, I was a bit disappointed: - He was 30 minutes late (he did call to let me know an hour before he was supposed to arrive that he would be late but it still required me to change meetings / calls to be at the condo longer. - Upon arrival, he called to let me know that he did not realize my condo was part of a larger condominium (at no time was this asked of me) and informed me that he did not work in condo units. - He did offer to refer me to someone who works in condos (but have not heard anything). A bit of a waste of time for both of us. Could easily have slotted in another provider to quote if he had simply let me know they do not work in large condo buildings (i.e. larger than duplexes).

Tao was amazingly responsive to our last-minute request for hardwood floor refinishing (about 500 sqft plus two flights of stairs). His communication was excellent throughout. He set expectations pedantically, because he wanted us to know precisely how things would turn out. He even handled a tricky problem that we had with one board with absolute professionalism. It was crystal clear that he aims for perfection. The overall result is beautiful, and we would choose Taozen again.

Tao represents all that's good in a service provider. From the original visit and estimate to the finished product we had a great experience. He was honest about what work needed to be done and how long it would take. Work began immediately after our quote. His crew was friendly and professional. Work was completed on time and the floors look amazing. We did about 900 sq ft of original hardwoods in a 1960's ranch. One day of sanding and three coats of poly over 4 days (one was a Sunday.) Despite Tao explaining to use that certain stains might not come out, which is common in older floors, the floors all look even from room to room and I don't even notice where any stains may have been. Floors look brand new. Tao is also extremely responsive when I reached out to contact him. We always felt in touch and well informed about what was going on in the process. Highly recommended company and if we ever decide to do new floors in the basement or in a future house I would definitely hire TaoZen again. Price was also excellent and he offers a Angie's discount.

Tao arrived to our appointment early and was very friendly. He asked me questions about the home, the purchase, my family and he seemed genuinely interested in who I am and what I care about. After we got acquainted he looked over our mishmash of old floors and set my expectation for what could be done to improve them. He was honest. For the living room and dining room there was not much that could be done. The stains aren't coming out, the gouges aren't coming out, and the floors only have one sanding left in the veneer. Tao asked me what my expectations are for the property and for the return on the investment of doing the refinishing. He helped put into perspective the cost versus impact of the work, which lead to me deciding not to refinish the floors. I have never encountered a tradesperson or business person who was so forthright, even after driving a great distance to perform a quote on a Saturday. Thank you Tao. It was a great experience meeting you and I will think of your first when I am asked for a recommendation and when I have work of my own.

My experience with Tao was excellent from start to finish. My home sits on a crawl space and has a combination of plywood and concrete sub flooring with uneven surfaces. I contacted Tao who told me I could install engineered hardwood with a floating installation, what to expect from the results, how to ensure the flooring will last, etc. The price he quoted was thousands less than quotes I received for luxury vinyl plank (having been previously told I couldn't install hardwood). He had the installation done a week later - the total job took two days - a day earlier than he estimated. The quality of the installation was perfect and the floors look amazing. Tao was always available when I called and his team was great to deal with as well. I can't recommend Taozen highly enough.

Tao was extremely professional,on time for appointment to give estimate. We got it in 48 hours, explaining in detail what to be done, materials used. They started the day they scheduled us, finished ahead of time. Workmen were very professional, helped us move the heavier furniture. They had to do a little more work than expected, and he explained to us the issues prior to starting. Very neat, cleaned up really carefully. They are one of the best companies I've used and will use them again for any floor work. We 're very satisfied with their work. Workmen asked us to check everything before they left. Everything moved back into place. Except for the brand new floor, everything was put back exactly as they were. Highly recommend them.

The provider Tao was very knowledgeable about his craft. He gave smart suggestions from the beginning of his first visit through the completion of the work. The work was done with considerable care and the result is a high quality floor that looks quite good. He kept to his word about the pricing. He has fire in his belly with the tasks he takes on to bring about an excellent result and very satisfied customers. I clearly recommend him without hesitation.

The installation of the hardwood flooring went extremely well. I had wall to wall carpeting that needed to be taken out before the floor went down. My furniture from the other rooms was moved into my living room after the living room floor was done so that the crew was able to work in the other rooms. The men were very diligent and worked very hard to install my flooring. They were all very nice and respectful and worked with me on any questions that I had. They were also very clean and neat. They were at my house for 3 days and each day they cleaned up everything before leaving my house. They did an excellent job! My floors are beautiful!! What a difference from my wall to wall carpeting! I love them and have received many compliments on them. Tao was very pleasant and professional and easy to work with. I just had a good feeling the first time I spoke with him that he was the one I should be hiring for this project and I am so glad that I did. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I have a small area on the hardwood floor that is elevated, and it is probably a result of cleaning it with wet wipes and letting it air dry. I was told by another company that the floor would eventually burst open, that I needed to replace the whole thing, and gave me a ridiculous estimated cost of 16,000. Then I found Taozen and given the great reviews on Angie's list, I wanted them to come and see my place #1 Taozen immediately contacted me after I wrote on Angie's list. #2 He gave me his cell phone and I sent him pictures of the floor because he wanted to make sure that it was something he could actually do. #3 He came to my house on time and quickly evaluated the area. He told me it was not worth spending the 7000 dollars + because the problem was not that bad and that instead I should invest in a 100 dollar machine to take the humidity away from my apartment. He said that because the hardwood floor is a floating system, it was likely that this would come and go and that it was not worth spending all that cash. I have elected not to do the work at this time, but believe me, if I ever have to do the job, this is who I will be calling. There are no companies like this anymore, he could have charged me all this money and replaced it, but instead he told me the truth and did the right thing by me. Excellent professional, I wish more people were like him.

Tao was super prompt in all communications. He provided the most detailed assessment and recommendation of the scope of the job. His crew showed up every day on time. The floors looked great after the job.
