It was a pleasure doing busniess with TaoZen. He brought samples to the estimate and was able to give us a quote at the same time. Tao was prompt in making an estimate appointment and he was able to schedule our job within the same month. The whole job was finished in a week and they left our place clean and removed all the rubbish. The floor look fantastic. I would highly recommend using them to any of our friends and colleagues.

I was very pleased with Taozen flooring's work product and their commitment to working super hard to get things done. I had a super tight time line PLUS strict condo association rules governing when they could work. Nevertheless, Tao and his team worked REALLY REALLY hard to get our place looking gorgeous by my stipulated deadline. Tao knows a lot about hard wood flooring and it really shows when you talk to him. He's a friendly guy and puts you right at ease when you talk to him. Tao also worked with me to pick out a flooring type that he thought would look the best and show well for potential buyers. So far, everyone who has seen the place has been really impressed with the quality of the floors. We were really pleased with the quality of the work, especially considering the short time line. One small note - Tao and his team sometimes showed up late to pre-scheduled meetings and such. He also didn't see eye to eye with my broker, which caused a bit of friction (which, thankfully, was resolved thanks to Tao's willingness to make sure the customer was satisfied). All in all, however, his work product is good, he will work hard to meet your deadlines, and his prices are quite reasonable. We decided to hire his team shortly afterward for another project at our new home.

Tao was very professional and responsive. He came to first appointment promptly and suggested to refinish the existing hardwood floor to match the new floor. The price was competitive with others and the service was great. The job completed ahead of schedule and clean-up was thorough. At the end the old and new floor match perfectly and it is hard to see the difference. I would recommend Tao to anyone

Tao is very professional and conscientious, and his price was very fair. The wood floors in our old house were had really taken a beating, so we weren't sure what to expect with the refinishing. Much to our amazement, the floors are gleaming, evenly colored, and beautiful. It has completely changed the look of the rooms. We are thrilled with the results!

They are excellent. I don’t remember how much it cost me but I know that they were very reasonable and they were excellent. I will use their services again in the future.

Experience was positive. Pricing was in line with two other quotes although Tae was very responsive in giving his quote. Workmen were friendly, professional and efficient and the finished floor looks excellent. I have to give a special mention to the workmen who helped put some furniture back after the job was finished. They also asked if I wanted to replace a chipped baseboard (not their doing) which they did, and I was not charged for - I think this represents excellent service. The only negative was a lack of communication over the wood delivery timing (we had to chase when it didn't arrive). But the job was started as scheduled, and only took a day and a half to complete. The room looks great - I would happily recommend the pre-finished maple (no fumes to deal with) and would also happily recommend Taozen Flooring.

Taozen did a great job on our floors. We had some challenges for the installation of the new subfloor/hardwood floor, such as some custom built-ins that they had to work around. They worked with us to determine a solution that would preserve the built-ins despite the necessary increase in floor height. We are very happy with how everything turned out and would definitely use them again!

Working with Taozen was a pleasure. We had already shopped for wood and had a good idea of what we wanted. We had a very tight deadline and a set budget, and Tao was able to meet it. Quality installation and very competitive pricing on the flooring materials. Tao is very knowledgable about various alternatives, and was pleasant and professional throughout the process. This large project came in on time and on budget, which was critical for us, as we were about to move in. Very pleased with the results.

They did an amazing job. The floor looks totally perfect.

On the basis of other Angieslist ratings I made an appointment with Tao to give an estimate on a damaged engineered floor in the condo we are buying. He was gracious on our phone calls and he arrived right on time. He examined the floor and the damage , showed us samples of similar flooring as he explained our situation and then told us how to do the repair ourselves rather than replace the floor. If we have any future flooring needs Tao will definitely get our business.

Tao performed the services as contracted. The price was competitive and the outcome is very good as the floors look nice. It is hard to fully gauge immediately the quality of materials and workmanship for hardwood, as defects may appear later. Initially Tao gave us a starting date and a duration for the job. He postponed starting the job for a few weeks due to some conflicts with other of his projects. As the work started it took longer than promised, probably because Tao understaffed the project. Towards the end he pushed to finish, his teams worked throughout the whole July 4th weekend, and they finished. The total duration of the work was 11 days. To make up for the delay, Tao volunteer to give us a $300 discount. Overall the experience was good. Although almost every day we would have a different set of people working, Tao?s workers were polite, careful, and did a good job. The work was completed to the detail and they cleaned up well. Tao was easily reachable by phone and stopped by in several occasions to verify the work. We would recommend Tao's company to other people.

Huang was very professional. He came out promptly to do the estimate. He pointed out ahead of time some issues with the floor that would not come out perfectly, wrote up the estimate and printed it out in his car before he left. He kept in touch with me via text messages, with confirmation messages each day before his team arrived. His team was polite, industrious and very clean. They were very careful when moving the stove and refrigerator (the kitchen floor was also sanded and refinished). Unlike my previous experiences with floor refinishing, there was no leftover sawdust anywhere, which I appreciated very much. I can't remember perfectly but I think the whole job took about 5 days (sanding, multiple coats and drying time). I highly recommend this company.

We couldn't be more pleased with the results of this job! Taozen refinished over 1,600 square feet and it all looks beautiful! I could not find a flaw in the entire house. The refinishing job inside of closets is just as good as the main living areas. The stairs were particularly difficult with dozens of closely spaced spindles requiring hand sanding in-between. Again, perfect! The house was clean as a whistle. The crew was obviously very careful to thoroughly clean and dust the whole house. They use new, high-end looking equipment and arrived in a very professional looking white van with Taozen markings. All in all, we are exceptionally pleased with the job and much relieved that it was finished in plenty of time ahead of the movers. Thank you Tao!

They were very good. They were very professional. It took them a while to get back to us on some things but the installation is beautiful.

Tao was very friendly, very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. He was willing to work around our crazy schedule and paid close attention to the look we were hoping for. Ultimately, we decided upon another floor company because they ended up being considerably less expensive, despite an Angie's list discount and further reduction from the original quote. We would still call Tao again for future projects.

Taozen was one of the three companies which came over and gave a fee estimate to replace our apartment's carpeted flooring with American Maple Hardwood Flooring. Their estimate was the most detailed and the least expensive. Mr. Hoang (Tao) was professional, courteous and reasonable. He kept his promise to finish the project on time. He initiated an on site inspection upon completion of the project, which looked beautiful to me, and when he saw a bit of shaved wood on the floor, he sent his crew over the next day to clean up. I am pleased with the company's work ethics and professionalism. I would certainly refer Taozen Flooring to my friends.

Tao communicated with me throughout the process, the price was right and the overall experience was exceptional. Carlos and the other installers were very courteous and did everything to ensure that I was satisfied. The job was not easy because the floors needed to be leveled in some of the rooms as the house is over 100 years old. In short, I recommend TaoZen without reservations.

Taozen did an exceptional job installing our floors. We are absolutely thrilled with them; they're beautiful! While they technically finished the job on time, they finished it at the absolute last possible minute, which was very stressful for us. They did a great job cleaning up the main living areas of the house, but not a good job cleaning up other places. I would absolutely use them again if I knew there wasn't a strict time schedule to keep, but might think twice if the work was to be done under a deadline. The owner, Tao, was very prompt to come out and give us an estimate and was very professional and made some recommendations for us, including whether we should go with traditional unfinished hardwood floors or get prefinished floors. We decided to go with unfinished since we had not yet moved into the house. He was able to give us a quote on the spot. When we decided to go with Taozen, we let Tao know what the time constraints were (we had movers scheduled for March 25th and had to vacate our apartment soon thereafter) and he assured us that this was not a problem. The flooring was delivered as planned on March 11th and they started tearing up the carpets. Tao had asked us to arrange for a dumpster to get rid of the carpet, but when I asked him for more details on when it would be needed, he said that he would arrange for this and the dumpster company would bill us. Once the carpet began to be torn up, we had a small pile of carpet in our garage. Over the next few days, this became bigger and bigger until we could no longer park our car in the garage, and we had to ask them when they were scheduling the dumpster so that they could remove this for us. We never did see a dumpster but the carpet went away shortly after that, and Tao said that the removal of the carpet would be taken care of free of charge. We asked several times for the schedule of what rooms would be done when since we were planning on painting several rooms before moving in, moving smaller items in advance of the movers, having appliances delivered and installed, and having some plumbing and electrical work done. We wanted to know when certain rooms would be off-limits so we could plan accordingly, but we never got this schedule. Progress began to slip after the carpets were gone. Tao let us know on March 16th that they were running behind their planned schedule (whatever that might have been!). By March 18th, only a small portion of the flooring had been put down. We contacted Tao and reminded him (again) that the movers would be coming in on March 25th. They ended up finishing the main floors on March 23rd, but did not finish the stairs until the evening of March 24th. When we were in the house that evening, the stairs were still tacky to the touch. Tao emailed us and told us not to walk on the stairs with shoes on, which was obviously not an option for the movers and made us extremely nervous. When Tao stopped by on moving day, he seemed surprised that the movers were there, even though we told him this was the plan at least 5 times from the very beginning of our work with him! Everything turned out to be ok because the movers were really good about it, but this caused a lot of unnecessary stress for us. This also meant that there was no time to air out the fumes, and we ended up spending the first night after we officially moved into our house... on an air mattress in our old apartment because the fumes were too much. Taozen ended up leaving a number of their tools in our garage. We were told they would pick them up the day after our moving day (a Saturday), but they did not pick them up until the Monday after. Taozen did a great job of making sure the living areas of the house were clean, but during the time that the workers were here, we found pieces of wood, Snapple bottles, and other trash on our front lawn. We found that two ice cream bars that had been in our freezer were eaten; we were pretty shocked at this. We also found that they used our own Shop Vac to clean up (which we would have been ok with had we been asked) and that we needed to buy a new filter for this because it was full of sawdust and not emptied by the workers. We needed to buy a new filter for our furnace as well because we were all sneezing (even the cat) from the amount of sawdust in the old filter. We also had a bunch of sawdust in our garage that was never cleaned up. Additionally, the pantry shelves in one of the closets were removed fairly roughly and most of the brackets were broken. These shelves appeared to be on the old side, so we're not sure if they could have been removed without breaking the brackets; however, we weren't informed that this happened and only found out when we went to reattach them and couldn't. We did find an area on the stairs where the finish was marred. They fixed this very quickly for us without any trouble at all. All in all, while we were disappointed at some of the aspects of this job, the floors are beautiful. Taozen did a high-quality job installing our new floors. To improve their score, they should work on making communication with their clients more transparent, as this was the most frustrating part of the whole job.

The project started very well. Tao was very punctual and responsive at listening to what i needed and providing an estimate and date to start. They came out right on time and finished the majority of the work when they said they would, about a weeks time. The main job went very very well, I don't want to give the wrong idea about this. It was super good work, professional results! However a couple of snafus that lowered their grade in this report and left me a little upset: 1. first off the old hardwood they ripped out of my office was left in a big pile in the garage. The original plan was to get a dumptruck that I would pay for, and they would haul it away. Tao was trying to save some money and didn't get a dump truck but instead his crew was supposed to take most of the trash away minus a few pieces that I would slowly throw out every monday when the town picks up trash. There was a miscommunication between him and his crew and that small pile was a big big pile that I had to deal with. Once I communicated this with Tao, he came later on in the week , apologized, and cleaned up the mess free of charge. 2. The extra credit project of coming to my condo took weeks to finally finish. Even though this was a small project and was something that Tao generously agreed to do for free, his work is not complete until he finished this piece. And its a shame that this one minor project negatively affected my view of the whole project. But anyhow it was done and done good, just took weeks as I said. Overall I would use them again, and although the two points above were frustrating they were rectifiied by Tao and his team.

Excellent. Their price was $1000 below the other bid, which we got from a different Angie's List A-grade contractor. After removing tiles in kitchen, Tazoen found wet plywood. They measured its moisture content almost every day for about a week as we dried it out. Once they considered it dried enough, they installed over it w/the promised schedule of completing everything in 3 days, didn't hassle us about the delay because of the wet plywood. The floor looks great. We're recommending them to others.

The overall experience was great. The owner Tao was in contact with me every day that the job was being done. 4 days total. His workers were excellent. Couldn't be happier.

Tao was extremely punctual and was always contactable throughout the whole process. I would and have recommended him to friends. I had recently contacted him (8 months after install) about the stair case and why we are seeing gaps between wood, this was simply explained as seasonal expansion and contraction and to check back again in the spring as the staircase swells again. The only advice I would give is (this is general, not directly related to using Tao) ensure all scope that you want done is included and if not, understand what is exclusions there are. Not included within Tao's number was the finishing of the riser, not something that we had figured. We had this work done before we moved into the house so there was also a painter there doing walls and trim and was able to have them take care of this little item. In addition, I would recomend you go through with your contractor where work will be done, both install and prep work. Alot of Tao's cutting was done in the house, given this project was done in June I would have hoped that the dusty portion of this work would have been done outside. Again something to be aware of when hiring any contractor that needs workshop space.

We originally were just going to have hardwood floors installed. When Tao's laborers pulled up our wall to wall, the subfloor was not usable. This meant an additional 2 days work-4 days in all. The guys arrived at the same time everyday and worked constantly. I felt very comfortable with them in the house and I knew they knew what they were doing. This was not one of those deals where the subfloor was just an add-on. It wasn't good. Tao's crew had the job done in 4 days. They cleaned up every day and the floors look beautiful. I think Tao runs a great company and would highly recommend them and would use them again for sure.

We were about to close on a home we were purchasing, and planned to get the floors refinished. Tao came out to give us an estimate within a few days of our request; it happened that the sellers were still in the house when he came by. Tao was very professional, came in with the lowest bid (thanks to the AL discount he offered), and, amazingly, went out to his truck immediately after looking at the project, and walked back a few minutes later with a *written estimate* for us! We ended up going with another floor refinisher simply because my husband has used them previously. However, the seller liked Tao best out of the contractors we had come by that day, and scheduled him to refinish the floors in the the condo *he* was moving to. He later told us that Tao did a fabulous job with virtually no dust. He was easy to reach by phone and email, had great follow-up, and based on these interactions, we would recommend him.

Tao was prompt in returning my call, making and keeping the appointment for the estimate. He provided many helpful suggestions and guidance from start to finish. He is extremely professional, pleasant, and he has a hardworking crew that works efficiently, cleans up well after themselves, and does a superb job. The work was completed per schedule and I am thrilled with the results.
