They were wonderful to deal with but they haven't started the project yet because we haven't closed on a house, but we're going to use them. They were very professional and they were prompt with the meeting and with the quote so we liked them very much. Tao was very prompt, he gave us some good advice on some areas that he really couldn't help us with and he's going provide referrals and things like that so I just really appreciated the time he put in, and he made some good recommendations outside of why we had asked him to be there.

I seriously cannot say enough about Taozen! We had a fairly sizable job and we were under time constraints to have it done quickly during school vacation week. The price was actually better than a company that we got a quote from a long time ago but didn't end up using due to the time needed to be out of the house. Tao was on time for the estimate and on the mark. The end result is outstanding!! Makes me wish I had done it a long time ago and the dustless system was awesome--minimal cleanup in comparison to the non-dustless systems. The bottom line is that if you are considering having this amount of work done while you are living in your house and you have to vacate for a period of time, you really want to hire someone who is prompt, realistic with the time required to do the job, and committed to providing quality work. Taozen is all of those and more. Our floors look so good that now our walls need repainting -- but that's a job for another time!

We were getting our house ready to go on the market and given the time frame we chose not to go with Taozen, but only because of timing. We had less than a week and although he could have performed the work in that time, we would have had to be out of the house for the time it was done and that was not possible. He was however, willing to compromise on that, but in the end went with another option more suitable for getting our house ready to sell quickly. He was polite, easy to communicate with and prompt with an estimate. The best price for the work he would be doing. In the future we will most definitely choose them if needed at our next house.

Taozen did a fantastic job refinishing my hardwood floors. They were prompt, professional, communicative, and clean. Above all the quality of work was outstanding. Taozen sanded approximately 1400 sq-ft of very soft douglas fir flooring (including a staircase) and finished with a high quality satin poly. The quote was higher than others, but worth the money IMO. I would use Taozen again.

Even though the work was done some time ago, every single time I open the door to the condo, I am pleased to see the natural maple hardwood floor that was installed by Taozen Flooring. Excellent job on complicated angles and baseboards were installed to perfection. They were patient with any issues that came up and were able to accommodate a change in schedule. The installers were courteous and professional and the work was outstanding. Couldn't be happier with this company's work.

I sent Tao an e-mail through Angie's list because of the high number of A ratings he has. He called me right away, and met me at my house the next day. I showed him what needed to be done (he also brought samples of Oak flooring as I told him I would be installing oak upstairs). The next day he e-mailed a quote to me. I told him I wanted to proceed with the job and we scheduled a date. Before the start date I told him I wanted to see other samples, and he immediately brought the wood over and left it with me. When I chose the flooring I wanted, he made yet another trip to my house to drop off the bull nose for the second floor landing/railing so my carpenter could finish his work first. The workers arrived as scheduled. I was not living in the house at the time, but I felt confident enough to give Tao a house key so I did not need to be at the house for them to get in or leave. His two men were polite and left the house cleaner than they found it each day. The installation of the wood was perfect, as was the refinishing. Even though I have radiators on the first floor, every square inch of flooring under and around the radiators was scraped clean and refinished. The attention to detail on the stairway in and around the tightly-spaced balusters was also perfect. There were three coats of finish applied.

Tao is a pleasure to work with, he is honest, punctual, very professional. I would recommend him without reservation to my friends, and I also look forward to work with him again myself.

From start to finish this was professional, easy for me and done exactly as I wanted. My second time with this company and will use them again.

I cannot say enough excellent things about Taozen flooring! From my initial phone call inquiring about their services, to Tao's immediate response and meeting the next day for surveying the job and getting me a proposal, to the walk-through and confirmation of my complete satisfaction....they were absolutely terrific!! His installers are awesome! When they arrived at the house to begin work on Feb. 18 they jumped out of their truck and began helping me shovel snow in my driveway!! Can you believe it? Their work is just amazing. Real craftsmen. They took impeccable care of removing and reinstalling all baseboard moldings. All detail work around fireplace were 'picture framed" and perfect. I can honestly say that they were so precise ...they really know what they're doing and truly care about the finished product. Very personable, professional guys. I can't wait to show my friends and family how beautiful my floors look. I will definitely use them again AND will recommend them to anyone looking to install hardwood flooring!!

Since my original review I did receive 2 phone calls from Tao apologizing for missing the appointment and not calling as he said he would. He offered a discount on the work, but I am having the work done by another contractor. Original Review: Made an appointment for him to give me an estimate. He did not show up. I called and he said he had it down for the next day. Because the storm was coming he told me he would call me on Monday after the storm to set up a new appointment. A week later I still never heard from him.

We had a crazy patchwork of floors over our entire first floor. We had 3 estimates and Taozen Flooring was close to the lowest bid. We chose Taozen Flooring for three reasons: the representative showed up on time for the estimate, unlike the lowest bidder. Taozen's price was excellent. He insisted we test our old kitchen floor for asbestos because he wanted to protect the health of his workers. This was not costly and we liked the idea of a good guy working in our house. It was to our benefit, also, to know if there was asbestos in flooring that was going to be ripped out. The other two bidders never mentioned the possibility of testing for asbestos, so I liked that Taozen's Flooring was upfront about it. I prefer that to accepting a bid and hearing "Oh, by the way....". Some of our floors were refinished and others were ripped out and replaced. I wanted no thresholds so it was important that the old and new wood matched well. The finished job was perfect. We have hired a general contractor to remodel our kitchen and the first thing he said was what a great job was done on the floor. Also worth mentioning is the courteous manner of the men who did the work. We plan to have our entire upstairs carpeting ripped out at some point and we will not hesitate to hire Taozen's Flooring again.

I had contacted several companies to get estimates to install hardwood flooring throughout my entire second floor (three rooms + hallway.) Taozen got back to my request immediately and came out to give me an estimate. Tao gave me a lot of useful information to help me decide on what wood I wanted to install. He is passionate about hardwood and really seems to enjoy his work! The estimate was right around what we expected and we were able to schedule installation very quickly. The installers pulled up the old wall-to-wall, removed trim, installed the underlayment, installed flooring, and reinstalled the trim in two days. I couldn't believe how quickly it was complete. The quality of the hardwood and the professionalism of the installers was superb. We are extremely pleased with the results and and very happy we went with Taozen. I plan to replace the carpet on the stairs next year and I will definitely use Taozen.

The house we bought had carpet throughout, and we needed to change the whole house to hardwood. After lots of quotes from other companies, Taozen offered us the best quote and was super friendly, informative, and helpful. They were able to install the flooring super quickly (especially given the amount of space needed to be covered and our move-in deadline), and did a superb job. The house looks amazing now!

Took a while to get back to me but eventually did. Said that he wasn't the right guy for the job, but was quite helpful in making some suggestions. So, he at least deserves a nod for that.

Tao is a highly professional person to work with. Throughout the quoting process, he was very helpful and professional to the core. He gave me a lot of very good advises as well regarding the flooring. He was very competitive on the pricing as well. He enjoys what he is doing and he takes the business seriously. I decided to go with another person due to certain reasons not related to the quote at that time. But I have already decided that I will seriously consider Tao for any other project that comes my way.

Tao showed up on time and seemed very knowledgeable. His quote was a day later than he had promised and was higher than the other quotes I received. I think that he does good work but it wasn't right for me this time.

Tao installed hardwood floors in my mother's one bedroom condo this summer. He was extremely conscientious of how it was installed and exceeded expectations. There was a leak related to an air conditioner before installation, and he stressed that the humidity needed to be at a certain level before he could proceed with the work. After the floors were installed, the plumbers who installed the new air conditioning units scratched the floors. At my mother's request, Tao sent his workers back to fix the damage.

This company I found from other reviews I had read on Angies List. I noticed this company had good reviews so I decided to take a look on their website. Once there I was able to see samples of other work they had done and emailed them directly for a rough idea of what it would take to complete the work I wanted. I sent them square footage on what we were looking to refinish and they quickly responded with an estimate solely based on what was described in the email. Did not go with them as there were others who had quoted for less money and ended up doing the work myself.

I contacted Tao for some hardwoord floor and stair installation in my basement. It took some time for him to respond and schedule the appt. When he showed up he was professional, spent some time looking at the project and explained to us various options. It took him at least 2 weeks to return with an estimate but when he did he had detailed breakdown of the project and the cost for each task. Some of it required some further explanation but since the overall price was quite higher than what I was budgeting for we decided against hiring him.

Tao the owner was fantastic. Efficient and responsive and great to work with! Floors look great!

The Taozen team worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up the mess and left us some extra wood piled up neatly. The job was well done and we are happy with the finished job. I would not hesitate to use them again. They work with skill, integrity and craftsmanship. I wish that all the people we hired were this easy to work with and did such a good job. A+

The men were on time and worked hard every day. Tearing up the floors took two days. Each day before they left, the rooms were vacuumed. The installation of the new flooring again went well. His men were awesome and worked non stop. I love my new woods floors. I had carpet for thirty years and never realized how beautiful my rooms would look. I would recommend Tao without hesitation to anyone.

Overall the experience was great. We were not inconvenienced at all. Tao answered all our questions and made great recommendations.

All the people doing the work were very punctual, professional and courteous. I will use them again in the future should there be a need. I would give them my highest recommendation. Very reasonably priced also.
