We had the hardwood floors in our new home refinished prior to moving in. It was sort of a last minute decision, so we wanted to try to get it done quickly. Tao was very accommodating of our schedule, and his quote was very fair. He was great to interact with - very professional but also personal. The final product is excellent - my painter even commented to me that he had never seen floor guys do such a good job. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

Tao and team were professional, showed up on time and finished the job on-time. They kept the place neat at the end of each day and this was very important as we were living in while work was done. Tao is a professional. He talked us out of what I wanted and the outcome was stunning. We will use him again if there's more hardwood to be done!!

Tao was excellent from his first response by e-mail through the completion of the job. His price came in lower than my other two quotes and his materials used were of a much higher grade. This installation was in the home of my elderly parents and Tao as well as his staff went out of their way to avoid any inconvenience to my parents. In surveying the area for the quote Tao was also very mindful of any tripping hazards with thresholds and butting of flooring to carpeted areas. Calls, appointments and e-mail questions were all met with timeliness, patience and clear explanations. The crew who arrived at the house for the installation were extremely courteous, accommodating and left the place spotless. I will absolutely refer Taozen Flooring to anyone.

We purchased a new house with very worn hardwood floors (2.5 inch white oak on the first floor and wide plank spruce on the second). We needed all floors sanded and refinished on the first and second floors including two staircases and needed hardwood floors installed in one room. We had a lot of work that needed to be completed during the month after closing and before we moved in. Tao came to inspect two months before our closing and provided an estimate. Tao came a second time two weeks before closing after we decided to install hardwood flooring in a second room. Tao was able to accommodate our tight scheduling needs and actually started work the day of our closing. Tao's team installed 2.5 inch white oak floors in two rooms, sanded all floors, and applied three coatings of Bona Woodline polyurethane. The work was completed in exactly one week as he said it would be. His workers were clean, polite, and efficient. The dust was not as bad as I expected thanks to the dustless sanding. Our floors look outstanding! I would highly recommend Taozen Flooring to anyone looking to install new floors or refinish existing floors.

Tao was able to come to my house the day I called for an estimate (10/5/13). He was earlier than his proposed time and very thorough and professional during his walkthrough of the house. He gave me a lot of information about various stains and what was a problem and what wasn't. He was very honest up front that some marks wouldn't go away (the house had been neglected for some time before we bought it). I was originally including the kitchen (remove tile and subfloor, refinish hardwood underneath) but he advised against it both due to the age and character of the home as well as the amount of wear the floors would receive with the galley kitchen setup. He was able to print out the quote right there from his truck and gave it to me before he left. He said they would be able to start on Monday if we'd like. The price was good and I was very happy with his professional demeanor and organization. We hired them and today, one week later, I went to see the floors and was thrilled. He was right about all the spots he'd pointed out and the patch job they did in two spots was seamless. The ONLY disappointing part was that I had asked during the walkthrough to have the threshold between the foyer and living room removed and it wasn't. Looking back, we both forgot about it. It wasn't included in the quote and I never remembered to bring it up. Someday I'll get around to taking care of that but it certainly isn't a big deal now. Would definitely hire Tao and crew again.

They did a really amazing work. They have great eye for design and planning out the job. They price was very reasonable and they did very high quality work. They matched new floors to the old and I really couldn't tell the difference. It was very nice. I would use them again in the future.

We live in a home that is 120 years old. Needless to say the floors were not in great shape, plus they had been sanded and finished so many times there wasn't much to work with. Tao Zen did a great job of sanding just enough to get rid of the scratches and scrape marks, but not too much that it exposed nails or seams. And: a very competitive price. Our next project will be the basement, and we are going to use them again for that.

He was prompt. He came by and gave a quote. Even the quote was very prompt. He gave me nice suggestions. The only issue for me was that the quote was on the higher side and it was much higher than the other quotes that I have gotten so I decided to go with the other provider.

Tao was quick to respond on the inquiry and setup a convenient time for us to meet and discuss my need. On day of appointment, he ran late but did call and update his time of arrival. The proposal was given in writting 1/2 hour after he saw the house. His price was a little higher than a couple of other companies I have contacted and given proposal from but it is still within my budgeted range. I eventually chose Tao due to his professionalism shown during his walkthrough of the house and evaluation. The work was done in the time frame given and as expected. The house was clean and looks great.

The owner was excellent to work with; he was very professional, detailed, and gave clear information on what to expect (like needing to air out the smell after the varnish had gone down). The quote was within range of others that we received, with no "extras" after agreement. He also helped us locate a painter to start after the floors had been done. The Taozen crew were friendly, and they cleaned up after themselves (you'd expect sawdust to get everywhere, but we couldn't tell they'd been there at all aside from the great looking floors they left behind). They were accurate in the size of the job and the time needed to complete the work. The floors all look like they were just put down instead of being 50 years old. We had a great experience working with Taozen and would recommend them to anyone looking to get their floors redone.

Talked to Tao a few months back to discuss the work I wanted done. He said it was no problem and would call me closer to the time I wanted to have the floors installed. Tao was always very professional and explained what could be done in the rooms I wanted done. I have a very old house and already had a sub floor that was somewhat not level where the new floor would meet the old hardwood floor. He was very upfront and honest about what he could and couldn't do to bring the two floors together and how it would look. His workers were all great and did the job in the amount of time that was quoted. When all my furniture was moved (prior to the start of the job), I found that there was a problem with my sub floor under a piece of furniture that was not planned for. Tao and his men were able to fix the area in question for a minimal fee. My new white oak floors look fantastic and blend well with the old ones! Will definitely call Tao again to sand the old to match the new! My friends and family love the new floor, I have had to buy new smaller area rugs so as not to cover up my beautiful floor!

Following the purchase of my home, I had all the storage done prior to me moving in. They came in and scheduled it and they were able to execute the whole job within about four days with three coatings of the polyurethane. They had real professional crew and the flooring came out great. There were no imperfections that I could find throughout the entire first and second floor of the house. They did a really good job.

The floors are gorgeous! Tao answered all of my questions and offered suggestions. The work was completed on time. I was on a tight schedule between purchasing the house, getting the floors installed, and then having the movers come and Tao was able to accommodate my schedule.

The floors came out beautiful and I am very pleased. Tao and his team were able to get the job done on time which was very important as there was a short window of time to get the work done before moving into the unit. I wish all contractors were as responsive and reachable as Taozen. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Tao was very patient with me, as I switched wood types and stain colors more than once during the decision-making process. Ultimately, installation was scheduled within a few weeks. Two really nice guys came from Tao's company. (Their English was ok but not great. We did have some communication issues, but we worked it out and were able to understand each other eventually.) They finished the job in one day (and it's a very large bedroom), and it came out beautifully. I couldn't have been happier.

Tao was very professional right from the first call I made to get the estimates. He came over, took measurements and was in and out in 15-20 mins after explaining how the process was going to go. As promised, on the date of service I handed the keys over and saw him next when it was time for me to walkthrough and collect the keys back. He was pretty diligent about calling and letting me know if the progress. The week when the work was done, it was literally pouring every single day and I was supposed to move that coming weekend into the unit, so the work had to be completed at any cost. I had my doubts, but Tao was very sure of the work completing in time and to my satisfaction and he also called me to make sure I was not sweating and fretting over this. Needless to say, the work was completed as per his word and to my satisfaction. He was also very reasonable with his quotes compared to other people I had checked with. Angie's list reviews helped me pick Tao and I am very glad I did. I would happily recommend Tao for any flooring or refinishing work that needs to be done. It doesn't get any better than this.

Bottom line...more than pleased with the service and results from beginning to end. I initially got an estimate last fall but determined I wasn't ready to have the work done yet. I called Tao again in the spring and decided to go ahead after he came back again to look at the job . I believe I spoke with Tao on a Saturday and was very pleasantly surprised to have the work scheduled to begin the following Wednesday. I had questions and concerns about the process and Tao was more than patient in taking the time to explain things to me and giving me whatever information was necessary from his end so all was understood before the job began. The crew, also very willing to take the time to answer any questions I had, did an outstanding job. The results far exceeded my expectations, especially in two rooms where there had been wall to wall carpeting with old floor with stains, etc. underneath. The repairs that were done blend in so well with the old that the floors don't look as if they were repaired. Clean up was excellent and other than the fabulous looking floors and some expected "touch-ups" that needed to be done, there were no major signs that a floor refinishing job had just taken place. At the completion of the job, Tao did a walk through with me. All in all, I found Tao and the crew very professional and enjoyable to do business with and the results speak for themselves!

Tao was responsive and professional. Pricing was very fair. Did the work on time and in budget and finished a day earlier than planned. Excellent job overall. Very clean and neat, not a flaw in the floor. Crew kept areas clean and neat, were courteous and friendly. They removed all the baseboard and put it back on and the touch up was minimal - you could hardly tell it had been removed. Crew led by Manny was as unobtrusive as they could be considering that laying new floors entailed four days of compressors running and nailers banging. Tao had value-added advice as to type of flooring, impact on resale value, how to handle certain nuances, etc. I have walked every inch of the floors and cannot find one squeak. There were no surprises. We didn't do fancy inlays or anything like that, but I am sure they would handle that just fine. I am in the real estate business and do a lot of floors. You can tell that Taozen knows what they are doing. I would not hesitate to use Taozen again and highly recommend them. Tip - due to timing we did not have the opportunity to paint the baseboards when they were put back on but they needed painting. We had Taozen lay down masking paper between the baseboard and wall (3" with post-it-note stickum on one side - sticky side out and down is best, if you can find it) or just packing paper cut in strips. This allowed us to slosh the paint on, pull out the masking paper, and not get a drop on the new floor.

My wife and I bought a new house which had 2 rooms of existing hardwood, a tile kitchen and lots and lots of carpet. We wanted to get rid of the carpet and some of the tile located in the kitchen and Tao was excellent to deal with and really knew his stuff including how to schedule and plan his projects. Up front we knew how long, what to expect and of course how much we would be on the hook for. When a possibility of a delay came into play, Tao quickly made other arrangements with his network of suppliers to get the schedule back on track for us to be able to move into the house on time. All and all a great experience and the floors look awesome.

I found Taozen to be a very professional group; they were very flexible on the scheduling, they came as scheduled (early actually), were very prompt and finished the work quickly. I appreciate the fact that my job is small so many companies typically do not consider them since they are frankly not worth their time, yet they were willing to perform the job. The price is reasonable; some felt it was on the high side, but considering the job done and scheduling (many other folks I called were booked too far ahead for my timetable) it was well worth it.

Company owner was responsive to our needs. Workers were professional and did quality work. Workers arrived on time, congnisant of our needs and solved a floor squeak problem that was not part of the original bid. Our floors are beautiful. We would hire them again.

Very satisfied with the company. Professional and efficient. When the owner came to give a quote, he gave us professional suggestions on how to choose the finish and all. We were concerned about the odor for I was pregnant at the moment. The odor went away as promised in a week. The dust was not bad as I imagined. The result was satisfying, and the price was reasonable far as I was concerned.
