Description of Work: Called Sherman Lock in 2013 to repair three locks. Locksmith did a great job so called them again when a gate lock started acting up in spring of 2014. Very impressed with knowledgeable, professional, friendly locksmiths. Any time we have a problem with a lock, we will be calling Sherman.

Description of Work: Service was scheduled for Saturday May 9 between 10:00 am and noon. The service professional arrived at 10:00 am, reviewed the situation and completed the work within thirty minutes. Work done on time and to a high level of satisfaction. Would definitely recommend them to others, and if needed, use them again.

Description of Work: I went there looking for a specific key to be made, under the impression they had purchased a defunct locksmiths list. They didn't, but were very helpful and honest about who did and even looked up something for me at their behest. We have used Sherman Lock in the past and always found them to be fair and extremely honest. Traits that are these days! I would always recommend them.

Description of Work: Replaced doorknob on the front door, including the push button lock. He had to enlarge the size of the hole for the latch and left a small mess which needed to be cleaned up. Other than that, it went fine.

Description of Work: The tumblers in the ignition of my 2003 Honda Pilot had worn so that I struggled to insert the key into the ignition. Rather than cause further damage, my husband contacted Jeff at Sherman Lock the same day as the problem occured. Jeff was very friendly and personable over the phone and also when my husband met him. He could not have been more helpful and professional. He gave my husband the confidence to take the ignition assembly out of the car so that just that part could be taken to Sherman Locks. Jeff took the ignition apart and reconditioned the unit. We had it back the next day and my husband reinstalled it in the car. He also made a new key from the most worn of the existing keys. Everything works perfectly! Honda wanted approximately $900.00 to do the same job. My husband is also a contractor on Angie's List. He was very impressed with Sherman Locks and he will definitely recommend them as often as he can.

Description of Work: A 1930s-vintage front door mortise lock was binding and inoperable. The door was also extremely hard to open and close after a recent paint job.

Description of Work: Brought in door lock parts from unusual European lockset that was broken. They suggested person who could order replacement part for us. She did, and Sherman helped us figure out how to install it, at no cost.

Description of Work: We bought a house, and had them change all the locks (9 doors at this place!). While Alain the owner was here performing the work, we asked if he could also install two (new) deadbolts. Fortunately, he had the parts on the truck, and he was gracious about adding this to the work already scheduled (we're SO glad we did that add-in). Alain was very professional, and weathered our day-after-closing chaos (the cleaners were here at the same time, and friends stopped in, etc.) with professionalism and calm. We also wanted the mudroom door keyed differently, as we expected various vendors in and out for the first 6 months, after which time we'd re-key it to match the rest of the house. Alain suggested an improvement on our plan, making the mudroom door lock a sub-set of the house locks. This way, the "change keys" would only work on the mudroom door (they keys to loan to vendors) while our whole-house keys would work on all the locks, as well as the mudroom door, so we wouldn't have to carry separate keys for that door. He understood our needs, and was pro-active to meet those needs. Also, my husband wanted a different strike-plate for the door frame (the ones that came with the house weren't sized correctly, and it was gouging the wood). The exact item we needed was not on the truck, but Alain took the measurements, and they mailed it VERY promptly, and my husband was able to change them out easily.

Description of Work: Installed 2 new deadbolts for antique doors and tightened up 2 loose doorknobs & mechanisms.

Description of Work: New owners of a house I was overseeing were moving in as the locksmith arrived. He removed the 5 locks which either had no keys or needed re-keying to a single key, went back to his truck to work in the sweltering heat, returned the cores to the locks all in short order. He even made an adjustment on a door lock he said was broken so all worked perfectly.
