Avoid at all costs. Received a quote of $65 an hour 1.5 hour minimum. His proposal has for repair and repainting. Each estimated at about 1-2 each. I explained I only wanted repair and asked him if my calculation of apps $100 for 1.5 hours plus $5 he quoted for hardware was correct. His response to me was “Please.........!!” I asked him to clarify where I wa going wrong and he says “Did I not make myself clear.” My next email was asking him to provide the total for the estimate to avoid any further confusion. I was then told my questions were “badgering him”. Angie’s List should remove him from their lists. This is not a business they should ruin their reputation over recommending. Should anyone wish the validate my complaint I will be happy to provide the complete email chain between us. STAY AWAY DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID

I never performed any work from this individual, I had to walk away from his inquiries as I felt intimidated and badgered. He was insulting! He does not know how to work with professionals.

Neal and crew updated the master bath by replacing the vanity which we purchased, installed the mirror, cleaned and regrouted the tiles in the shower. His tile guy Dan is very good in his work. He was able to carefully use the extra tiles we had for the bathroom to finish the tile around the wall of the vanity. Dan also tiled our entryway and it was done very well. Neal and his crew were working throughout the time they were at our house, no wasted time. Neal was able to make suggestions to minor issues around the house and completed them. Overall, it was a pleasure working with Neal and I would definitely recommend him,

Neal and his assistant worked parts of five days on the job. They were professional, courteous, amicable, and did an outstanding job. They did the demolition work on the three walls, protected the tub with blanket and tarp, and tried to keep the dust to a minimum. They also removed all the old debris - the old tiles and crumbing cement boards - to construction bags for recycling. They had to deal with unusual wall depth, walls out of plumb, unusual plumbing of tub faucet -- all due to 50+ year old bathroom. Not to mention all the mold and mildew that lurked behind the tiles. They saved money by installing strapping instead of a double wall to bring the new durock cement board out to the proper depth, and match the depth of old wall that remains above the top course of 4x4 ceramic tiles. After installing the durock, they applied mastic adhesive and installed tiles in small sections. The tiles matched up very well, with no small ones on the border, except on the inside intersection of the walls, where they are least noticeable. They came back after the adhesive hardened, and applied the grout. A plumber was called in to help install the new faucet kit. And finally the grab bars were installed, and we are really enjoying our new tub/shower.
Description of Work: The job was a bathtub/shower renovation. Three walls enclosing the tub were replaced with durock and new ceramic tiles. Shower/Tub plumbing kit was replaced, and new grab bars installed. The tub itself was badly stained due to minerals in the water supply. Neal cleaned the tub, and indeed the whole bathroom, really bringing it back to life in Bristol fashion.

Neal was replacing rotten wood above two windows on the side of my house. The work he did was horrible. The boards he put in don't line up or close at the seams. He left one nail partially not nailed in, and another was nailed in crooked and came out the joining piece of wood rather than securing the board. There are gaps what he rebuilt. He didn't remove debris. I'm hiring ANOTHER handyman to come and re-do his work. I forgot to check Angie's list as I was in a rush. I'll never make that mistake again.

I guarantee my work. I never received any call, text or email that there was an issue for me to address. I was hired to replace one fascia trim on two roof overhangs. They were both badly rotted and improperly fastened to the two extensions on each side. I replaced the boards and noted that the soffit below and both side boards were slightly rotted. Replacement would have been costly - and not part of scope of work. Since repair was to address immediate needs (house was being sold) - I repaired as best I could. I know of no nail issues - I only used about 6-8 nails per board - it was a simple install. I charge for disposal of trash as I have to take to trash company (time, fuel and his charges. In this case - I cut up the 2 - 6' boards to small pieces for disposal in owners trash can. It only took about 6" high of his can. The customer was at home of time of job and never made any note of any issues during or after my work. I wish that customer called me and I would have more thoroughly explained issues and addressed any additional work - if required.

Neal didn't do the work himself. He did not communicate well with his "staff" . Carlos did the best he could with the information he was given. Walls not properly prepped. One room trim was painted the wrong color. When Neal was told he blamed us, then employee. The employee did such a poor job the second time ,we could see the wrong color showing through. Still not correct the third time. We decided to do it right ourselves.
Description of Work: Neal was hired to paint and prep 3 rooms. He informed us after he was hired that we needed to remove the wallpaper, which we did.

This job was over 12 months ago so I do not recall all the details. We were hired to paint 3-4 rooms plus other carpentry work. In one room - the customer elected to remove the wallpaper - versus us - to save money. I told them that the wallpaper glue had to be removed before painting. They elected to do that as well - also to save money. There was some confusion about paint color in one room. There were several people in the house providing color selections. We re-painted the walls - two coats. Both paints were lights colors. I was not made aware of any further problems with painting of that room. The man in charge was the owner and my main contact. I met with him in the morning and in late afternoon each day that we worked. He seemed satisfied as he gave us many more things to do in his home - painting and other carpentry work - inside and outside.

Neal did not come prepared with a ladder, drop cloth, or any glazing tools, points, or glazing compound. He removed painted glazing over wood steps without using a dropcloth. He broke many windows and then would go out to get a new window for each successive window, wasting much time. It was clear that he didn't know anything about glazing windows. Finally after several hours of this I asked him to stop and do the power washing instead. Neal wasn't skilled with the power washer and scored the deck caps, thresholds, and paint so that they now must be repaired, resanded and repainted. He used the power washer to rout out all the small crushed stones around my patio slates on the side entry walkway so that now I must replace them. When I brought these things up to him he called me a b**** and said my house was a dump. It's going to cost me more than double his fee to repair the damage Neal has done.
Description of Work: I asked him to remove glazing on 12 small windows, replace one broken window, and replace with new glazing on all windows. If time to power-wash deck and side porch

I took a call on this job but could not respond in same day as requested. I gave the customer's name to an another individual to call - if he could power wash on same day. When I saw this complaint I called that individual. He said that the customer was very demanding and did not treat him with dignity or respect - and he left the job site. I do not know all the details of what happened.

He didn't install the ceiling correctly. He did not know what he was doing with the installation. He did not even put the compound on. He put the bevels towards the wall and didn't do it square to square. When I asked him why he decided to do it that way he advised he would have done it differently if he had known I wanted it a diferent way. I advised him it's not about how I want it, it's how it should be done.

We spent considerable time installing new square sheetrock over a very defective ceiling. The materials were applied properly. No joint compound was applied as the customer to apply himself - to save install costs. Had the customer called about any concerns we would certainly addressed them. He seemed satisfied when we left the job site - and sent a check.
