John and his team worked on our bathroom renovation in the spring of 2023. Overall, I highly recommend his services; the work was completed in 3 months, and we are happy with the appearance and functionality of our new bathroom. As a general contractor, John was very responsive. He was always available to discuss our options and provided helpful recommendations. He was attentive to our needs, including any additional requests or suggestions. His team - including demolition, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry - are also outstanding, and well coordinated. I always knew who is coming today, what they will be working on, and what part of the project will be completed this week. Very good experience and high quality work.

They are excellent to work with, reliable, and get the job done in a timely manner. For all of our projects they have been there were with us every step of the way. My wife and I learned about Moylan Contracting because of the work they were doing on another house down the street. We noticed they kept an incredibly clean site, and were very friendly when we said hello on walks, so we called for a quote on a kitchen remodel we wanted done. John came over and we were immediately impressed. You could tell he had a lot of experience as he talked us through different design options and listened to our goals for the project. After some consideration we moved forward with his team and are very happy we did. John did a great job keeping us up to date throughout the project. His team stayed on schedule and on budget (except for the additions we added to the scope) and checked in with us constantly about expectations, when we needed to select countertops, backsplash, light fixtures, etc. John would also take our call to talk through any of our questions or concerns during construction, regardless of time of day. Even after the job was complete, John still honors his work. We have called him for some final “touch ups” and he’s happy to come back. Moylan Contracting has pride in their work and it shows. We would recommend them to anyone asking, and will be calling them again for future work.

John, James, and crew were amazing! They did excellent work in a timely manner and always responded to calls and messages. We needed a complete overall of a residential loft in a formerly industrial building. We particularly appreciated the suggestions they made and their ability to help us realize our own plans and design. Would definitely recommend this company for any remodeling or construction job.

John and his team remodeled our very outdated 1960s kitchen and bathroom. We are very happy with our beautiful and modern kitchen and bath. John was very friendly and very quick to respond to all our questions and provided daily updates. I also appreciated his transparency in challenges working on an old concrete condo building and he did great job working to find solutions to make this renovation a success. I would definitely hire again for future projects.

John and his team gutted two bedrooms and a bathroom for us. They brought all rooms down to studs, insulated, fixed structural issues that we were unaware, and brought our house back to life from the floor to the ceilings. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. They stuck to the budget that was initially set, and were able to complete our home renovation on time, with lots of care and attention to detail. John and the guys were always on time, and very responsive to any questions or concerns we had. 10/10 would recommend this crew to anyone looking to do home or commercial projects, and we look forward to having them back for more!

The most amazing contractor! Knowledgeable, reliable, responsive, reasonably priced, always present on site, friendly. He proved to be everything we had hoped for. We did a major renovation with him and he did not disappoint. Everything was done on time, with high quality workmanship. Extremely responsive: called me everyday with daily reports and always picked up his phone. And to top it off, he nice guy; fun to work with. Highly recommended!

Moylan contracting did an amazing job remodeling our home. If you have ever watched Love it or List it then you will understand the amazing work they did. I was ready to sell the house (List it) but they did a complete remodel of my home and let's just say "I LOVE IT" ! Great. I had another contractor start the job only to leave me with hastily assembled frame that was a poorly constructed mess. Moylan Contracting came in and saved the day. Not only were they able to correct the problems, they were able to build my new front porch, ahead of schedule, safe, sound and beautiful. There was great communication and the guys showed up on schedule and finished in the projected time. It was such a relief to have a reliable contractor that follows through on what they say and deliver what was promised. A lot of people can say they’ll do something but Moylan delivers. So pleased. They will be our first call when it’s time to do the back porch!

After initially discussing my budget and remodel wish-list, John was full of ideas on how to marry the two to get the kitchen of my dreams. He was always prompt and clear with his communication and made sure I was always up to speed with the scheduling and what was happening day to day. And if I ever had any issues, he was always ready to discuss the options and offer solutions that helped with the vision. I’m so happy with the final remodel and I would hire him and his amazing crew in a heartbeat.

John and his crew are outstanding! They completely remodeled my 1957 bathroom in just 2 1/2 weeks. John is highly organized and kept in touch every step of the way. The process was clearly explained at the start and went smoothly. John's crew showed up on time each day (or early), were true professionals and fun to work with. I was so impressed that I hired John & crew again to create a home office (turned out great) and will hire them again soon to remodel my kitchen and fireplace.

John was extremely communicative, honest, and punctual. He was very forthcoming with information and always responsive. We extensively remodeled a newly purchased home and John and his team finished AHEAD of schedule. We had some tough luck with prior contractors and were very thankful to meet and work with John. I recommend working with John and would work with him again!

John is the best! We obtained 3-4 quotes for our full bathroom remodel. Everyone else estimated 6+ weeks to remodel the bathroom - which is our only shower. John promised he would have it done in 2 weeks. It was fully complete in 13 days! This was a total remodel down to the studs. Great work, super fast, super responsive, and his cost was right in the middle of the estimates we received. This was in Nov. 2019. Since then we have had John's team back on a number of projects: to replace our fireplace mantle and staircase, and repaint our first floor. He also installed new pantry cabinets in our kitchen and new flooring in our basement. John is now our go to guy for all our home repair needs. He's great - can't recommend high enough!

John and his crew did a fantastic job with our small remodeling project of turning a 3bd/1ba into a 2bd/2ba. I interviewed about 7 contractors for the job and John was by far the most personable, quality oriented, and reasonable. Throughout the process, he was great about providing his expert opinion but I never felt pressured in any situation. I had a vision for what I wanted and John was there to execute and provide guidance. My partner and I are first time home buyers and I was very worried about navigating the Boston system for renovations. John took care of everything and even though we had some hiccups with the city he was a great communicator and kept me updated every step of the way. At the end of each day he'd either send a text or call to tell me about the work done, any issues that we may possibly run into, and what was coming next. The quality of his work was excellent as well as the team of individuals he employed. Him and his team kept the site pretty clean and maintained a good relationship with the people in the other units in the building. All in all the project went extremely well; we finished within the quoted time frame and within budget! A feat I didn't think possible after all the horror stories I'd read. We've been living in our new home for about 2 months now and couldn't be happier. I would 100% recommend Moylan Contracting for any renovation needs and would absolutely use them again.

We've owned our house 30 years and used many contractors. John is unusually responsive and considerate as contractors go--a good listener and a man of his word. He responded quickly to our questions, and with an estimate, and then performed the job quickly and well, managing a large, capable crew. We are very happy with the improved appearance of our garage!

We have employed a number of contractors over the years in the process of updating our 1860's Victorian. However, our experience with John Moylan and his crew was the best ever. They were here every single day. There was absolutely no lag time, and they completed the job of opening walls to create an open concept, refinishing the space from floor to ceiling, remodeling the bathroom, and installing new windows, all in record time. What we appreciated the most was the thought and care they put into the work. John talked over every single step and thought through the renovation from every angle. He did what he could to save us money without cutting corners. On the whole, the quality of the work, the efficiency, knowledge and skills left us very impressed. They were very good about cleaning up after themselves every day, and helped out by running a number of errands related to the renovation. On the whole, we are very glad that we found John and his crew and would recommend the company to anyone considering a major renovation.

John was great. He called everyday with an update on completed work and next steps. He was very responsive to every inquiry and completed the entire job in 10 days. I plan to use Moylan Contracting again in the very near future. Very pleased.

We had Moylan Contracting renovate our Brookline kitchen. We were most impressed with the responsiveness of the pace of work. Our kitchen was fully remodeled in the proposed timeline and on budget. We would definitely hire again.

John was an absolute delight, myself and my partner went into this blind and we are so lucky that we met him! We are opening an escape room and had a mess up of finding a location in Waltham signing a lease and then calling John. Luckily he got to us in time and informed us that the bill would be astronomical, he was extremely honest and forthcoming and offered solid advice. I can not stress this enough John is a delight! We then asked him to come look at another place and though this wasn't his problem he did and even helped us figure out the process of finding an architect first. John was so patient with us and our inexperience answering all the questions he could. Finally we located in Salem and he finished work within a week, called whenever anything needed approval. I highly recommend John and hope that he has all the luck and success in the future!
