Mike was unable to come immediately when we called about our broken sewage ejector pump, but was up-front about his earliest availability. He also recommended that even if it was only the float switch which was broken that we replace the whole pump to avoid paying for labor again in the near future when the pump itself eventually wore out. Mike arrived promptly, gave an honest estimate for the pump and his labor, and was very tidy (despite this being a messy job!). Ultimately, the project costed a little more than we expected, but this was due to the size and cost of the pump, not Mike's labor (which was exactly what he had quoted). And most importantly, everything is working properly! Mike was a professional, and offered to do some estimates for some other projects while he was here. When we get to those projects we will definitely call him back!

I called Kohler twice, and per their instructions during the second call, (so they could try to identify the part i needed), removed a shower control part (without turning off water - which they never mentioned). and flooded the upstairs bathroom. I now know where my water shut off valve is (had to call husband at work while water poured in) , but due to the rudeness and lack of detail from Kohler I ended up with MAJOR expense -- much more than had I just had Mike handle the whole job (including dealing with Kohler). I'm not stupid but I have never done plumbing before and I was having trouble understanding what the Kohler rep wanted me to see and do. The flooded floor in the bathroom caused a mess on the first floor ceilings... I should have known better: LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS!

As far as we are concerned, Mike Richard will be our go-to plumber forever!! Honest, timely, informative, accurate, and I have never seen anyone work as cleanly!! He corrected all of our issues, and , when he was finished, I couldn't tell that he had ever been here!! He left me with the feeling that I could have every confidence in his work!! I have since recommended him to other friends!!

It went well. Mike did not service us but was quick to respond and very helpful

He arrived on time for the appointment, which had to happen before my business opened. He was very professional and explained everything he was doing in just the right amount of detail. He also cleaned up after himself! I would not hesitate to hire Mike again in the future and highly recommend him!

Mike went and picked up the new tank and istalled it, and took away the old tank. Mike was neat & efficient . no time wasted. Would recommend Mike to anyone who needs a plumber.

Hot water heater was leaking...luckily we were doing laundry that day, so we caught it before before there was significant water in the basement. Mike Richard responded very promptly in the late afternoon / early evening and he was able to provide me with an estimate that evening after we discussed a few details. He was able to come early morning in 2 days (i.e. about 36 hours after the initial call). Pricing was reasonable and the workmanship appears to be quite good. He was very courteous and professional and did an excellent job cleaning up the area after removal of the old tank and installation of the new tank was complete.

Once again, Mike was excellent. Work is top-notch and done correctly. Highly recommend.

I would not use Mike Richard Plumbing and Heating Services. The fix appeared to work, but now every time you turn off the cold water it continues to run.

Mike is very punctual! and very neat! All work areas were left clean and tidy. Mike pays attention to detail; his work is careful and deliberate. He took time to explain what he was doing and why. We won't hesitate to call on Mike for any plumbing needs.

Estimate for job was far too high.

With four owners sharing a water bill and no one claiming a plumbing problem despite a water bill that was 3 times as high as usual, the problem seemed difficult to resolve. Mike Richard was listed as a reliable plumber with good ratings by Angie's List members. The best part about working with Mike was his honesty and his quick response to emails. Before making an appointment to come to the house, he made several suggestions via email to resolve the problem on own. When it was clear that we were not able to determine the water source, he was clear about his rates. He arrived on time, was efficient and thorough in his assessment of the problem, was courteous to all the owners and determined the problem toilet quickly. Although that owner said he would fix his toilet on his own, Mike did fix another owner's toilet that he said could be problematic in the future. We used an Angie's List coupon for the house visit.Would absolutely call him again for a plumbing problem. Nice to have a reliable plumber in the neighborhood too.

Mike was exceptional. Mike arrived on time, made sure we were comfortable with the scope and cost of the work, and then completed it on time. Mike even came back two days later to do additional work before we moved into the house. All in all, outstanding. Would highly recommend him to others. Everything was great. Work was exceptional and completed on time and at the agreed-upon budget.

Mike acknowledged my request for help quickly. Prior to the appointment, he communicated promptly on my subsequent emails and reviewed images of the work needed. He arrived on time; took a quick tour of the main shutoff valve and sinks. He listened to my concerns. He listed the choices I had for resolving each problem - much appreciated ($$). With a few trips to the truck all the materials necessary were in the house. His questions were focused. Left him alone as he moved quickly from each task. When asked, he told me the correct procedure for faucet replacement, what alternatives there were for modifying the bathroom. Everything was very well cleaned (he brought his own paper towels) and back in working order. He explained the bill and would forward a receipt.

Mike is our go-to plumber, and this time he was as efficient and professional as always. He finished the work in about 2 hours.

I had a problem with a toilet that wouldn't’t fill up after I replaced a chain. Mike Richard came and looked at it and gave me a price of $280 (less a $40 Angies List discount) to fix the toilet. That seemed high to me, and I’d had a previous leak in that toilet, so I asked if that would cover everything that needed fixing so that I’d have a toilet that worked right. He said yes, so I decided to go ahead despite the price, since I wanted to get the job done with. To my surprise, he was done with the toilet in about an hour. He looked at some other jobs for which I wanted an estimate, I paid him for the toilet, and he left. He sent me the estimate for the other work that night. It seemed high, and I emailed him the next morning to say I wasn’t going to do the other work then. I added that there was a sound coming occasionally from the toilet he was supposed to have fixed. He told me that it sounded as though the flapper (which he had installed) was not sealing correctly and to do a leak test with food coloring. I did, and there was a small leak. I said that I would wait to see if it got better. It didn’t, so after a few days I asked him to come by to fix it. He said that I should change the flapper and see if that worked and that if he had to come again he would charge on a time and materials basis. I said that he should honor his agreement to fix the toilet for what I’d paid. To my surprise, he said that my payment was just for the specific work he had done, which was shown on the invoice, not for fixing anything else wrong with the toilet. I responded that the invoice simply said what he had done, not what he had agreed to do, which was fix the toilet. Moreover, if he was only going to do work that took an hour, why was he charging me $280? I can maybe understand paying $280 for fixing a toilet when the work turns out to take only an hour if the price reflected a risk that fixing the toilet might require considerably more work, but when the toilet isn’t fixed and he then claims that he agreed only to do the specific work that took an hour, something is wrong. Richard also said that he did a leak test while he was here and the toilet tested OK, so the leak must have developed later. However, the toilet bowl is black, and he apparently didn't look closely enough to see the food coloring and missed the leak, which was there ever since he left, as shown by the sound of water flowing in to refill the tank. I emailed him again and reviewed all this, but he did not even reply. As it turned out, I was able to fix the leak by installing a new flapper myself, so had Richard not made it a point to tell me so quickly that he would charge if he came again, I might never have known that he wasn’t willing to do what I paid for. As it is, I simply ended up greatly overpaying for an hour of plumbing work that I had to do more work on.

Mike arrived on time and did the work plus put new washers in my kitchen sink faucet. Mike did not waste any time at all. He worked promptly and efficiently, even tho I talked to him. The sink repair involved replacing the piping from the bowl to the trap and reseating the vanity top in a bed of "putty". I was initially concerned about the rate for the first hour. Let me tell you he earned it. He was quick, but thorough. No time was wasted. I received fair value for the cost. Total time was two hours. I received my bill via email the next day marked "paid in full." I am planning to replace the kitchen sink faucet and will have Mike do the work once my wife has selected the faucet

Mike Richard is very responsive and professional. Seems pricey, but anything with plumbing always seems to be. Definitely worth the price for the work performed. We definitely plan on using him for future plumbing problems.

Mike's services are highly professional, his communication, estimates, coordination and performance are outstanding. Mike exceeded all expectations, finished the job in one day and I can only highly recommend his services!

Mike is very professional and quite flexible. Since I was a the mercy of contractors and state inspections, Mike did everything he could to accommodate our schedule. He was punctual and always followed up. He also had some very good recommendations. Mike is also conscious of expenditure. If something wasn't broken then he wouldn't recommend replacing it at this time, however, since I had the bathroom and kitchen gutted he did recommend I replace the galvanized piping since the walls were already open. Changing galvanized piping at a later date would have been prohibitive. I would highly recommend Mike as a plumber and plan on using him in the future for any plumbing related jobs.

I asked him to call me before he went to the house to give me time to leave work and meet him there, which he did. He was very courteous, professional, and got the jobs done right away.

Mike arrived a few minutes early and got right to work. He was quickly able to a**** the problems and began work. He was able to run out and purchase all the necessary parts to complete the work in one day. He was very professional and performed all the work himself. I was very happy with the work and he worked very cleanly.

I was pleased with the service, but I was not happy with the price. They were very meticulous and very professional. They were thorough and punctual.
